i think the reason most updates come out on friday, is because more people play friday night, saturday, and sunday, than any other 60 hour time frame during the week.
with more people playing at a time, the company can get more feedback faster.
if an update came out on monday, a lot of people would be too busy to play right away, and may even forget about the update.
The thing about milk - how much milk do you need? The benefit of the fold is that you get wool and milk from a single building. If you don’t need ridiculous amounts of milk, you can tear down the cowshed and build another house...
I stored 20x 10/10 buckets of water (that's 2k of water I think) in the chest in my tavern III along with all the grain, flour and eggs needed, set management to make 2 types of bread as you did, when I checked back later that day all the water had disappeared along with the buckets and not a single loaf or flatbread to be found anywhere..
TIP: leave the water in food storage and it all works fine.
Buckets can be crafted at a smithy, to unlock its under the Cow shed. And i realy hope the game deffs make it so the Fishing huts can fill buckets of water or make a well where u can put a crafter on to fill it
Making the bucket is way expensive... And why do the baking need water? Most breads and pies I have made in real life, nead milk... That is the real mind blowing mystery to me. Why the gamemakers decided it to be water and not milk. Are they lactose intolerant? But then why ad cows and goats at all then?

Quick math on the milk:
-You had one goat giving 0.18 on a lvl 6 farmer. That is (18 divided by 6 is 3) 0.03 per goat per level of farming.
- You had 2 cows giving 0.7 on a lvl 7 farmer. That is (70 divided by 2 for 1 cow is 35, divided by 7 is 5) 0.05 per cow per level of farming.
Cows do better.
Also I only bought lambs myself (5 or 6), but all seem to grow up as sheep not as rams. I'm not sure if the same applies for the goats.
With your field workers it's not 1 farmer per field can seed at a time, it's 1 farmer per crop type in a field can seed at a time, so if your 1 field has 3 crop types you'll get 3 workers seeding. Your slight problem with your math on how much goats, v's cows with cow production is you're basing it off of the stats given straight off the screen without considering if both buildings are run by farmers with the same stats, ie woodcutters give more wood if their levels are higher is it the same with the farmers level and aquiring milk. also goats maybe slightly better for milk production based purely cost effectiveness, but to get the same production as cows you'd eventually need to build a 2nd fold to house them in if you get into say 10 cows also if breeding is coming in, in the update you'd need a male bull or 2 and same with the goats. Also in this period Horses were fairly rare in the setting historically speaking, maybe 1 or 2 draft horses or ponys to an entire village max and used communally, more often it was oxen carts, Also if a recipie say's 5 buckets it actually means 5 portions of water so 1/2 a bucket it seems to be a type, from watching1 of your earlier vids i believe when you made flat bread. if it wasn't you must be another prolific youtuber like DeuceMS.
The only thing you can do to make it easier is to put a wash tub near the tavern and fill up there.
And put one outside the tavern to refill if you end up wanting to cook afterall.
Or by the Tavern... Lol runwhenairborn.

if I recall correctly a medieval person would burn anywhere from 2500 to 5000 calories pr day, depending on time of year and their station in society. that's also why a lot of older recipes are heavy on carbohydrates and fat
5000kcal? miners and loggers prob yes :)
Also, the hard workers in the family got more/the better food etc
obesity and diabetes were the problems of the wealthy, they could afford a variaty of food and didn't have to labor...
the common folk had to work hard and their diet wasn't that varied, and meat and eggs (were often sold) weren't alsways that available, only local foods...
that is also the reason their immunity was weaker and their lifespan shorter
The main reason there is allot of obesity in our world is because our foods are too processed and contain too much sugars and fat... and our bodies are super efficient in storing every cal of energy they can...

Hey Kage, you need to account for the skill level of the worker as well. I'm not sure if they where the same but that could have a huge affect on milk output. Still loving the series.
Liverwurst is a German sausage (German word for sausage is wurst) and it is actually made from liver. Originally from chicken livers I believe, but I'm not sure on that one.
One hack for buckets is that you can use the washtub and you can place that near the tavern
I don't know if anyone has said it yet, but you will want to make white bread. If you make ANY bread, white bread is where it's at in this game.
Another thing you need to be aware of -- when I had my tavern folks making bread, my bucket - my one and only bucket at the time - disappeared. So, they consumed it. You will lose your buckets.
5:40 for those still curious about who you pay taxes too after the one guy is gone.
if i remember corretly its better not to make flour from wheat cause wheat on its own is more expensive then other grains.
Ya the bucket filling sucks. I grab a bucket of milk and drink it, fill it with dirty bath water, and then drop it on the ground. When I get a mess of buckets I scoop them up and put them in the Tavern in case I decide to cook anything besides stew. So far they are just sitting there getting stale.
We also need a trash bin to throw away things we don't want and want gone I'm tired of rot everywhere because I have to dump it due to spoilage.
The the differences between goat's milk and cow's milk is goat's milk has a higher fat content but cow's milk has a higher protein content

Another idea could be set down a palisades or stone wall ghost image, then never build it and stop using the farming plots.
But then the sticks will be there.
You can fill bucket in the wooden bath, its easier. What do you guys think about barn as gatehouse?
Regarding the cows, the males are bulls and the females that have calved are cows. The females that have not calved are heifers.
It seems a bit hit and miss to decide which animals to buy, if you can’t tell their gender that’s a pain!,
It's 5 "drinks" of the bucket each bucket holds 10 drinks hence the fraction 7/10, 6/10. at least that's what I've noticed.
Daub houses do take damage, after repair they remain daubed :)
Don't know if anyone put this on there but you can fill buckets in a washtub too makes filling them quick
when your workers use buckets of water you lose the buckets. well at least i did
Baked food is only for RP really. It's not something you have workers do, but you'll see that by now, since the vid was recorded friday. Too many resources, and workers eat the buckets. It's a bummer we can't have fun with different meals other than making it ourselves, just for us. It needs a serious rework, but I have a feeling it's not going to change.
If breeding was actually implemented in this game, then buying a male goat and a female goat (mating pair) would be more logical (cheaper) and the most beneficial way to go in producing milk. I don't know if the cow shed holds as many animals as the fold does (which would make sense because cows are larger animals), but if it does, then for sure - goats would be the best since two goats produce more milk than one cow, even if the cowshed held half of what the fold shed does.

Hiya Kage, you looked at the milk production, but the fold has a lvl 6 worker but the cowshed has a lvl 7 worker shouldn't that influence the production?

I noticed the milk/bucket glitch on my own game, I just grab one of each varying condition or grab a bunch of the oldest one and just consume it anyway cause I have tons of milk and want the bucket
Could you please put a word forward to the game makers about the fertilizer issue... Farmers do not use it. I have heaps of rot, that I am making into fertilizer and it is heavy, so I don't have the time to drag all 3000(kg, not peaces) to other villages to sell. It would be nice if the farmers use it. Now I have just piled them outside the barn hoping for fix. I know the gamemakers listen to you closely. Same goes with the animal feed... No point making it... No-one uses it.
Isn't flour stored in the barn or am I getting confused? So many storage options make my brain hurt. Lol.
🐨 Just wanna say when I was young I was told Leiberwurst actually is Leiber=Dear Wurst=Sausage and yes it's main constituent is Liver, ergo Leberwurst or Liversausage is the correct spelling, Luckily I love it even after eating it on bread for well over 60 years.. APU I dropped a like..

The fatal flaw is not with cooking, it's with the game. The devs have not even got basic maths right so what chance do you have? There is no point in having fences around a henhouse, fold or cowshed as the animals just go where they want to.
My animals stay put. But we need gates.
Mine also stay put. Mostly. Sometimes one manages to glitch through the fence, but they magically manage to get back inside at night.
Liver sausage has a variety of names and styles and I think compared to cooked liver it's awesome.
the amount of milk you are getting is based on the farming skill of the your animal breeder i believe

Am I the only one feeling like shit when I see his neat pixel-perfect village? I mean, I have a village kind of scattered all over the place, it kind of evolved from a single house that I built when I was just starting.
not every village has to be "pixel-perfect" you know? Some villages are tight, secured with palisades etc, some are spread around, uneven and very organic... It's really a case of your taste, location and what exactly you want to RP...
I had my village spread and organic for first 6-7years, then I decided I want to move somewhere else and make secure and organized village, so I did(took 2years total)... Trust me, after few years you will look for something to do, so moving out is an option if you really want to have more organized place.
Gotta say I like both types of villages.
One thing that I don't like in Kage's village is lack of plants, I prefer villages that have some trees here and there, but again it's just a case of someone's taste.

Pixel-perfect doesn't really fit in, don't feel bad. It's easy to make a town like Kage's, the challenge is making them look like a true medieval village. Scattered, different angles. Like the other villages in the game that the devs made. In the end, it's a you do you thing. My personal taste prefers the unorganized look. It feels friendlier.

@@aannddiiffeerroouuss Ok, let me break it down like this: Bread in essence is flour yeast and water mixed together and baked. Once completed we give the flour mixture a food name bread. Because of this process you would argue that somehow you are not eating flour anymore? that's like saying boiling and mashing potato's adding butter and salt no longer qualifies potato's as a food. I not sure how I can make this more clear, but I hope this helps.

tarts are basically pies but not sweet :P that's the simplest explenation I can think of ;)
A tart is basically a pie without the top crust. They are mostly sweet, so like treacle tart, apple tart, lemon tart etc etc.

@@meldraghart Hi Mel, You're right there are many non-sweet ones too, I think it also depends where you live as to what things are called. Where I am a quiche is also a tart, but never called that. Just as technically a pumpkin pie is a tart, but I've never heard Americans or anyone else call it a pumpkin tart. Where I live if you mention tart, everyone will assume it's a sweet version.

You have to wait for the goat to pick its gender identity. Also I don't think male goat milk would be very desirable.

American "yellow mustard" has tumeric added which gives it a bright yellow color, otherwise it's just a generic mustard, no sugar (at least my bottle doesn't). It's the most basic as opposed to something better with horseradish so prob why Kage's friends mock him.
Wurst is German for Sausage , ergo liverwurst would be liver sausage, you're confusing the german word wurst with the english word worst, Also there are loads of people whom like multigrain bread ( i'm one of them) also not a fan of rye bread. so everyone has their tastes but at least you know some people like multigrain ;).

@@Kage848 I agree with you Kage, it's the liver part (and smell) that makes me go ugh lol, it tastes better than it smells for sure. Also, it doesn't help us English speakers call it wurst as it's pronounced vurst really.
@@Kage848 Like all sausages there's other ingredients that tone down the liver to more reasonable, speaking as some one who's Mom would saute liver once in a while, the most hated thing she ever made for me. I like liverwurst though.

That being said, midevil dynasty seems to be getting a bit slow. I understand its early access and the devs are doing their best to pump out updates. I mean you made a montage of you dropping planks for roads. The game needs "meat" you've done the long term quest and now its just simply paying taxes and fixing buildings
So why complain you may ask? Well its called "first world problems " for a reason thats why.🤣🤣
