I can't emphasize how refreshing it is to see a League content creator that is really excited to play the game and giggling to himself the whole time, self commentary for his own amusement. No jokes. The other day I was playing, thought I saw the enemy Kayle, next moment got flash q ulted by who turned out to be the enemy Morgana. I know they're sisters, but it's a bit silly.
At 15:04 you use the normal recall before herald dies. Then herald dies and gives you empowered recall, which is then consumed by your normal recall. I didn't know it worked like that, but it's good to know

I like how you mentioned that champion select trick, because I do the same thing when I play Kled mid. Kled is a bit riskier to blind pick, but I think it's still worth it to give my top laner a good matchup.
I noticed your no-Hydra run and have been waiting on a video, enjoyed this one. That kill on Fiora at 7:40 won lane for your cass, took Fio out of the game, and put an early DEFEAT mentality on all your opponents, well played.
Isnt it odd Petu how we patiently waited for the return of Hydra, only to find out the path to highest heights is paved through Hollow Radiance of all things.
Fun fact, displaying champion names is super useful for new players in order to identify and remember each champion (there are over 167 at the moment)
HOWEVER, if you happen to play with that friend and the person is playing an enchanter, asking the person heal you will make it so the person asks "which champion are you?" and u will have to specify which will take a second or 2 and u get to die...a little inconvenience that wouldnt happen if the normal nickname is displayed.
On that note, I wish there was an option so that only rival names could be displayed as the champion names and allied or premade names were the same at the same time.
I feel exactly the same with so many skins looking super alike. Especially with some more expensive ones changing the skillshot look it's not possible to dodge or recognise if it is a fancy morgana q or something else. Or focusing the adc instead of senna when they have the same skin and both are shooting a rifle at you standing on top of each other. This is a great tip!

I think champion name is a great setting, I've been using it for about a year or so and I feel more focused, almost like I am becoming the champion. Helps me see my mistakes objectively too when I review, since im not seeing my summoner name. Super nice setting love seeing someone talk about it!
I have always had that problem with the skins in lol and complained a lot to my friends about it. Glad to hear it wasnt the only one
you have no idea how many times I got hit by like jinx ults just because I didn't recognize it was a jinx ult thanks to the skin
You can do the same thing that you were talking about in champ select by swapping right as ban phase ends. Like right after the timer hits 0, you offer the swap and then it keeps the bans in the same spot.
I play a lot of Shen support and swap with first or second pick all the time and they think I'm top lane lol
Looks like you're using colorblind mode also, that has helped a lot with clarity in this game.

Honestly League is really interesting now with how balance changes are reverting. Things suddenly don't fit into nice neat boxes, which forces players to make harder decisions. The ADC items are now semi awkward in that there isn't one item that gives you exactly what you want, there is always something missing. The runes are getting shifted to get rid of the useless ones like overheal, and you now have to decide between consistent but micro healing or big important healing upon takedowns.
i am diamond and i have had insane results with cassio ADC, because everytime jungler ganks you, you get atleast 1 or 2 persons, alot of times i get tripple kill with Ap cassio as ADC role.

Hey Petu, I want an honest opinion here. I know you dont play much support shen. but what runes would you run on him. I feel ultimate hunter is a must as support shen, i know resolve tree is great. but i really feel like support shen would benefit with hexflash. so thinking open spellbook shen support ? what do you think :) thanks
I was skeptical, but you right about champ names and skins is definitely the reason, absolutely.
Also, I thought it was common sense to bait bans, but I seem to overestimate people's intelligence lol.
Ive been using this for like 2 years, it can be a lifesaver in chaotic fights.
That Lee skin is probably the worst offender in terms of visual clarity _ever_ . Sometimes he looks like Ezreal, sometimes like Ryze because fudge the players we just want them to buy it, not to know who it is. To a lesser extent this has also been happening with splash arts. Sometimes I'm in loading screen and go "Wait, when did they pick Zed ?" but it's Pyke

I once got confused by an enemy Ahri thinking it was a Rakan even though the enemy didn't had a Rakan, it was the 500 dollar skin. Ended up getting one-shot.
I had a situation where I was Udyr and I had to choose between a caitlyn a leblanc and her clone, initially it wasn't an issue but later on with empowered udyr r being really flashy and both of their skins having a light blue theme It was terribly messy and I had to choose in the heat of the moment, I got lucky and snagged the caitlyn but I definitely was thinking I was on the leblanc for a good moment and it might've costed me a big fight. Turning this setting on would really help thanks.
Petu I’d love to see a video where you talk about Shen synergies, cuz sometimes I play with my friend that plays Diana, I think they are a great combo, and I think it would be cool to learn some other solid synergies. Great video as always :)
xPetu, you're not alone with that point! I have only champ names just to recognize which champ is it and also I knew I don't wanna bother my brain reading player names. I used to it for long time 🙂
I agree, ever since I toggled champion name, it saved me alot of precious brain power to not think about who is who.
I was fighting against an Ashe in Aram and wasn't targeting her because she got Maraudeer Ashe skin on and it hides her iconic face. Realised I run into this problem way less when I turned champion names on
I love this setting and I've used it for a long time! Skins can be so confusing. And summoner names are just annoying noise.
i played non stop from beta to s5, and every once in a while i play some matches. the amount of skins now compared to then is astronomical and i cant tell you how many times ive mistaken one champ for another. honestly i wish there was a setting that made it to where you only saw default skins.

I changed the setting when i started playing league to learn champion names and never went back. I don´t know why this isn´t enabled as a default anyways
I too, have been caught in the Dark Procession that one jax trapped me in.
Petu idk if you knew this but you can cast spells on the camp icons above your minimap, so if you're sure you wanna ult you don't even have to move your camera, you can just click on the icon
Surely he knows, it's just not usually smart to yolo ult without seeing what's going on or you might ult too early or too late.

To be honest I can't believe you are not challenger yet, you are actually one of the best players in soloq I have ever seen. Just keep grinding. I guess Shen is a hard champ for grinding to the higher levels.
He has gotten challenger before, but challenger requires you to play often to stay on the 300 player ladder
@@BanditLeader Yes I know, but I thought that by now he would be challenger already. I'm disconnected about if he still grinds or not, but that would explain it. I know that he got a hand injury? or something like that, and he had to stop for a while, but I thought he was back at it.

About the ban and swap orders in champion select that you commented, when you swap, the order of the bans on top also changes, so I don't think it would be an advantage

I also have a problem with skins being way to synonymous with each other and sometimes struggle telling spells apart. At this point im watching new skin spotlights for all champions just to know who's who
My problem with turning champ names on is that the settings reset back to summoner names after every game and I don't want to change my settings every game.
I also have to spend 10 seconds at the start of every game to turn off and then turn back on "attack move bind to left click" so having to add more time to change more settings at the start of every game is just really inefficient unless they make these settings changes stay for every game.
Apparently, I got here before the HD version 😅

i would still preferr a accessibility option that just turns of either ally skins enemy skins both and a seperate option so you can toggle your skin on and off literally no brainer feature in my opinion but riot has not thought about that apparently

Swapped to champion names years ago. Makes you less distrected by silly names and you always know what you playing against like xPetu said.

I love your videos. I learned a lot about playing Shen from you. This is truly one of few champions I enjoy playing. Im low Elo, and even tho Im much better at Shen now (usually wining my lane, throwing few ultimates here and there) I cannot carry a team with Shen. Any advices for low Elo?

What I'd like is a setting to disable all skin visuals except your own, because some of the new ones are just plain disgusting. Hwei skin and base are like night and day, and when the champion has 3 abilities for each basic ability, I'd like to be able to recognize them immediately

question, can shen get you out of low elo, assuming you are playing decent? I feel like with the amount of support he provides, he is reliant on the team no? Maybe I'm just clueless but would like to play him more and be able to win even when the team can't really carry that much, idk.
This setting highly depends on your ability to tell what champ you are playing against. I've never had an issue with any skin or champ before. If I see a champ I know what it is regardless of the skin.
