Hi friends :)
WE JUST HIT 200K!! How crazy is that!! Thank you all so much :) 🥳❤
With this video I tried to step up my editing & filming game a bit :) Hope the effort was worth it and you enjoy the end result!
Would appreciate if you could engage & share this video so we can keep growing :) Long version of the tour is coming on Thursday :)
Happy Growing
Jan & Brad xx
Bravo et vivement Jeudi ! 👍 😉 🍀
Well done Jan and Brad. Been watching your channel grow along with your plants! You are so likeable. Although I have years of plant growing success I have learned a few new tricks from you!!
Did an awesome job Jan! Natalie 💚💚
Verdient!
Congrats Jan!
I know you've only been doing this for 4 years but in my opinion, you have changed the game for so many plant keepers. You make it seem easy, especially the moss poles and you're inspirational.
Thank you:)
It’s so true. Totally motivated to grow our plants to its fullest potential. I just got my first anthurium because of Sydney plant guy.
Brad is an angel dressed in fur! I have 5 cats and they try to eat any plant they can access. My plants either hang or live in the basement under lights. It makes me sad... when we built the house, my hubby put in a sun room. I envisioned a lush jungle... 18 feet of beautiful windows, 6 feet tall with southeast exposure filled with plants. NAUGHTY cats!
He really is :)
Hi Jan. I'm a French Canadian from Québec. I'm not very good to express myself in English but I can undertand pretty well. I love comming on your channel and see your amazing plants. Your explanations are so clear and interesting. I doscovered you last mounth cause I was serching for tips to help me grow my first Alocasia a friend gave me. It is an Alocasia Polly and it is currently waking up from dormency. This is just amazing! tu see Thank you for sharing your tips and the beauty of nature. Best wishes from Québec. Carl
Thanks so much:)
I love how your outdoor space has evolved! It’s so inviting and relaxing! Can’t wait for the next video!
Thank you:)
Your collection is absolutely breathtaking.❤️❤️❤️
Thank you:)
Beautiful collection well done thank u always for sharing
Thank you :)
My heart just went on a rollercoaster. A plant tour, YAY! Wait, only 9 minutes...? Oh, a longer one is coming! 🎉 Everything looks so nice, Jan! And your extra effort on editing and filming did not go unnoticed. Love the slow pans and tight shots of your gorgeous plants. Fun fact: the auto-generated closed captions always struggle with Brad's name. In this video, it captured his name as Brad, Brett, and Bread. 😝 🐈 🍞 Keep it up! There are more than 200K folks around the world cheering you on!!
Hehe thank you:)
Wow, your home feels like holiday😺such good vibes with all those beautiful plants and cute little Brad in the middle of it 😻
Thanks :)
Congratulations Jan.
That little resovior at the bottom of your pots that you talked about in your last vid have sent all my plants ballistic, not just my moss poles but all my other plants as well.
Huge Calathea leaves with no crisping and Im talking ornata, star burst and peacock.
Im pretty sure you know how long I have been following you. My plant hobby ballooned after seeing one of your first vids. I use the nutrient you recomend and most of my plants are in some kind of Aroid mix.
The successes have been amazing,
Thankyou so much.
That's so great to hear :) happy growing :)
what video does he discuss the reservoir please?
I hope you get a snippet on Gardening Australia! I think your place & your nature is so beautiful 😻
🫢🫢🫢 They might have been here last week 🤫🤫🤫🤫
Your outdoor garden space is sooo drool worthy 🤤 I swear I would spend allll day long out there
This video was so wonderfully well done, the angles and focus were spot on and the editing so cinematic. Thank you as always for sharing!
Thank you so much:)
I like the video filming style and music on this one Jan and Timmy - especially the beginning!
Thank you:)
So much beautiful lush greenery! ❤
Thank you:)
This garden is actually something else, craaaazy! 🤯

Thank you:)
Beautiful work! Great! Editing work! New level! Well done!
Thank you for these 10 minutes of joy 🤩
Hehe thank you so much :)
You are such an inspiration, Jan. I love your straightforward and clear approach to caring for plants, your love for them shows and what a pay off! You gave me the confidence to care for rare tropical plants, now I have way too many and more are on the way. 😅 (I live in the desert!)
Thank you:) happy growing :)
Heya from over the ditch 😊 very nice camera work ❤ besides the plants ofc 😍🙏🏼
Thank you:)
Looking forward to the longer tour. Especially on the greehouse to see how things are there. The gardens look so lush. Hope mozzies are minimal this time of year so you can enjoy the zen of your outdoor space.
Thanks :)
Great video Jan! Lighting is so important, and Gathera have been making them for 5 years now, our Sun Bulb is coming out next month and we'd love for you to try it out! It's got heaps of features that I'm sure you'll love, and its quantifiably more powerful than the soltech and mother lights!
Shoot me an email to my business address: enquiries@sydneyplantguy.com
Hello, congratulations. All the Plants look great and vital. The color of the leaves looks crazy.
Thank you:)
Watching this tour as I am watering my plants on moss poles 😅
Thank you Jan and looking forward to the next video ☺️😊
Thank you:)
Congratulations Jan !🎉 200K Loved the walk through recap visual at the end. I'm not qualified to comment on video editing, but would love to see bts, bloopers and everything that goes into creating your content. One gal I watch started adding credits at the end ( filmed and edited by... 30hrs work) I had no idea, but it makes me respect the work you guys do all the more. Thanks again for great content!😻
Thank you so much :) yeah this was probanly 10-15 hrs of effort to produce a 10 min video 🫣🫣
Absolutely stunning home and “garden”
Love all your plants! Thanks for the tour. 🪴♥️
Thank you:)
Beautiful and inspiring. I must have at least 1 plant in every room!
For sure !!!
Such a beautiful setup!! Gorgeous plants!
Thank you:)
Your plants are gorgeous 😍
Thank you! 😊
Nice snapshot & looking fwd to your in-depth houseplant tour Jan!
Thank you:)
I would love to see more about your philodendron billietiae!
Wunderschöne Pflanzen! Darum strahlen Sie soviel positive Energie aus. Bei solch einer tollen grünen Umgebung. Da kann man einach nur relaxed sein. 🌄🥀🌵
Danke :)
Hi Bradley! Gorgeous plants Jan!
Thank you:)
I live in Seattle Washington US, in the next few days my plants are going outside!! Summer baby in the US
8:29 the black multi-tiered plant stand with grow lights beneath each basket…where did you find that?
I’ve been trying to find more aesthetic ways to display plants in my home, and I find your examples really helpful! I wish more people talked about how they choose to artistically display their plants. Thank you!
Hello, i've been so inspired by your vidéos that now i shall think of getting ride of some plants 😅 i can't even walk into my room now 😅
I just chopped my paraiso verde into pieces after the one year moss pole that he absolutely loved thanks to you. I gota stop bying plants but it's so hard not to do 😖
Someless less is more :) happy growing :)
Always love seeing your plants. My next challenge will be making plant related things ( hanging planters and such ) with the 3d printer I have just ordered. There are things I can't find anywhere and I figured it would be nice to make them myself.
Thanks :) sounds fun!!
Congratulations 👏🏼👏🏼🎉😻🌿😻
Thank you!!:)
Wow the garden has come so far this year!
It’s grown so well:)!
Congratulations 👏👏🎉🎉
Thank you :)
Love this video your plants 🪴 are lush good growing.
Thanks so much 😊
Well done ! You should be very proud of your self
Thank you:)
Absolute perfection. 👌
Thank you:)
Something you could do in the winter is to put a clear plastic drop cloth over your whole yard. Since you have a fence, you can attach it to the fence and just stick a pole in the middle and make it like a circus tent. As long as you don't get a lot of snow, if should add a greenhouse affect and protect your plants from frost.
In theory a good idea but the aesthetics would drive me wild especially once the sheet gets dirty & wet so I’ll just keep it as it is :)
Home sweet home, such a beautiful nice plants! Your great effort making your life wonderful❤☘️ 💪
Thank you:)
Love this a lot!
Thanks :)
Woww what a beautiful plants..love it❤
Thanks :)
Aww thank you for this short and sweet tour. It's nice to mix it up a bit. You mentioned you can't even hang a picture as a renter, how come? How do you have the painting @3:35 and in your bedroom on the wall? Anywho, beautiful plants and lovely filming. Hi Bradles!❤
I used 3M hooks but technically not allowed to do that. Technically not even allowed to use bluetag
I like this snap shot update Jan. perhaps I could send you photos of my plant murals and tropical.
Thank you:) I’ll make another ‘inspired by SPG’ video soon so keep an eye on the community tab for submissions :)
Amazing plant set-up. Relaxing ambience with so much plants. Whats the growlight in your room? The silver standing light?
Thanks :) www.mother.life/US/shop/linear/c2e509b3
Hi Jan! Congratulations on 200k! Seeing your anthurium collection i kept noticing 19 degrees with 75% humidity (that's more less what i get in my house) and the AC on the wall above the plants. Do you ever turn it on? Does it dry the air too much? Keep up the great work. You're my favourite "plant guru"✌🏼
Thank you:) only use the aircon occasionally to heat in winter which definitely reduces the humidity a bit :)
That's what i imagined💪🏼 Thank you again for your positive and laid back although very assertive attitude and very well made content. Everything you say feels useful making your videos never feel too long. Don't drain yourself working! We work so we can live our best lives and not the other way around✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Awesome video as always....Hi Brad
Thanks :)
Hi Jan.. Nice plant collection.. Can you explain about your experience with Nepenthe plant and how do you maintain them?
Love this!!
Thank you:)
04:46, 06:34 what is that plant on the left? I have a carnivorous one that is pretty similar but obviously not as big, lol
Congratulations to you and Mr Brad😊 😊, your plants are beautiful and I love your attitude towards the hobby
I started my journey with plants when my mom left this world, more than a year ago
It's amazing to see them grow, to discover them, to learn from them (they die or almost die, and sometimes they come back stronger than ever)
Its really amazing to see you creating and taking care of your big jungle as well! 🪴🍃
It’s a nepenthes but i don’f know the exact species name :/ thank you so much!! Happy growing :)
They just don’t make apartments like that anymore, I found something similar here in Tampa, hoping to move there next year. Cozy apartment tour, thanks for sharing!
Thanks :)
Wow 😍🌱
Hi Jan, you've been my inspiration for getting velvet philodendrons and I am obsessed
I've been wondering for a while now where you got that cute plant display at 3:26 ? I would love to get it for myself as well
It's looking great Jan :) 2:20 can you give us an idea how many lux your Philodendron get? I don't think I've asked that before. I think I can get away with way more
Okkkk editing 🔥 okkkk b-roll 🥵
We see you Jan 💚
Hehe thank you!!! 🥰
First time viewer and have subscribed. Has Brad ever played with or chewed on your plants and if not how would you have handled it if he did.
He only plays with them to get my attention but never eats them :) so never had to deal with that issue :) thanks! Happy growing :)
It's so beautiful. Big job to water them non?
Can be but I’ve gotten very fast & efficient at it :)
I see you haven't gotten a Rafflesiana yet. They are the coolest nepenthes. They have a high top leaf with fangs and the pitcher has rough bumps and depression structure by the mouth of the pitcher. Difficult to grow for me since I dont have a green house. I do grow Venus flytraps. I am the cultivator of Wally, Pinnacle, Guava Sawtooth, Orange traps, and a few others. VFTs are easy to grow. If you want to grow one, I can give you some pointers.
I’m only super slowly getting into carniverous plants :) not seeking out specific species atm:) but will come back to your offer if that changes in the future :)
Very nice ❤
Thanks 🤗
You are great
Thank you:)
May I ask a question - do you use any heated mat or heater during winter? If yes, is it mainly for the propagation box? Or any particular plant/s you find more temperature sensitive?
My guess is no need for Sydney's winter. It's as incy cold compare to many other countries plus I can see you keep quite a lot of plants outdoors and should be ok, just slower growth right?
Absolutely jealous Brad shows no interest in plants, my two cats are totally opposite... Even with my creative way of hanging them up, I lost count of how many times I was shocked by how high they jumped & destroyed their "catches". Tried all the tricks/training, to no avail. So... all plants stay outdoors. My only exceptions are the snake plant & Zebra Haworthia which they have no interest at all.
Thanks :) I don't use heat mats but they are commonly used to keep propagations/seedlings warm as they are more vulnerable to can make good use of the extra love :)
@@sydneyplantguy thanks for answering :) I reserve any propagation to spring, natural warmth for baby plants 😎
Hi, please tell me what material do you use to make the moss pole. I mean the type of plastic from which the back part of the moss pole is made
It’s from Grow Vertical, linked in the description:)
i am curious, with the growth light shine direct to the anthurium, will it be hot in your bedroom?
The growlight does not produce enough heat to make a difference in temperature
💚
How high is your humidity?
😅What a crazy house!
🏠🌱🌱
❤❤❤
💚🌿
Are the grow lights in your bedroom from Mother?
Yes :) www.mother.life/US/shop/linear/c2e509b3
@@sydneyplantguy thank you!
How expensive is it to run all those lights?
They are all LEDs so not expensive at all :) basically a drop in the ocean compared to heating costs
👍👍👍🌿🌿🌿
How do you get 75% indoor humidity? I struggle to keep it over 45
I open the windows :) i live close to the ocean so naturally humid
@@sydneyplantguy lucky :)
I thought you had an accent. Where are you originally from? Still loving youtubes though.
Born and raised in Germany :)
@@sydneyplantguy Just started to follow you on IG.
@@sydneyplantguy thats what my Mom said as soon as she saw you lol. I've never heard a German-Aussie accent before I love it
How do you deal with lizards, toads and snails?
Never had any issue with either of them :) so I don't deal with them at all
@@sydneyplantguy wow. I am in the Caribbean...they are plenty here.
is he german?
Born & raised there :P
Does anyone else feel guilty about wasting all that electricity to grow plants unnaturally? Just me ? I'm asking since he talks about environment and sustainability.
Any time you worry about a couple of lights just think about the endless amounts of energy any single company wastes in a single day
Your personal lighting set up is a drop in the ocean of energy wastage
Its literally not relevant
In the nicest way
The elite cause all the waste not the little folk ...this set up barely touches the sides
Appreciate the thought behind the question but with that attitude you’d basically not be able to do anything. Should I feel guilty for having a fridge, heating my house, watching tv, owning a phone?! It’s important to be more environmentally concious but feeling guilty for using LED growlights is too much & definitely not the place to start…
If only a professional photographer would capture the true beauty of your plants they can be turned into prints. I can imagine beautiful images on paper or fabric of your stunning collection.
You taught me how to use vertical space inside and outside. 💚💚🪴🌿🌱 Natalie
Maybe one day :)
@@sydneyplantguy Do a wallpaper of your large luscious plant leaves - someone will be sure to sponsor it:)
