In this tutorial I'll be launching my latest series, testing the cell making results of varying pouring mediums and additives in the making of stretched chameleon cells. The "silicones" I used were OGX Coconut Oil Hair Serum and Hask Argan Oil. The colors used were Liquitex Basics Phthalo Blue, Quinacridone Magenta and Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue, and Amsterdam Titanium White. 1Paint:2Floetrol Consistency:3

You made good use of the circle made by the flip cup there. An idea: do the same technique again with the flip cup, do chameleon cells in the centre, and then turn the outside part into petals, and you have a flower. Though one wouldn't be able to stretch that as much as you did this one, or you would lose all the petals.
I actually have the OGX Coconut Oil Hair Serum, so I'll now know what to expect from it. I have no idea if I will be able to obtain the Hask Argan Oil here. But my little bottle of RainX arrived today!

I like the way the cells appear as cells in cells! I agree the OGX cells are a lot m muddier!
Just a thought... there were more layers availible for the hask cells to layer, and less where the outer ones are

Can you please tell me if you happen to see this message how you recommend mixing the TLP’s and Micah powders to incorporate them into the paintings? I’m just starting out in the pouring and I don’t know how to do that. Thanks a bunch.

Hi Gina. Thank you so much for sharing your creative and scientific mind. This is terrific that you jumped on this technique on the get go. So glad it was you. My thoughts on the additive comparison is also a question. Perhaps the results of the two oils might have different and more balanced had they been equally split in half of that very centre in the middle circle where you first out the all the back oil. Maybe location of the oil could alter the results in colour and size? Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge and beautiful work. SanDisk from Canada
Usually the canvas is uncovered whenever I try chameleon cells. How do I avoid this?
I think for testing, it would have been better to test one on one this way. You know for sure what is causing your cells.. cute painting.😊
