This song came out 3 years after my first son died. He will remain forever young in my heart. 61 now with 3 kids & 3 grandchildren. This song ripped my heart out when it was released.
I'm not even a parent, and this song always makes me cry. He really just makes you feel and picture the love. Especially the part about flying away from home.
Nice reaction. Not his son, but he does have 8 kids. You have definitely heard a lot of his songs. He has done many genres from hard rock, blues, pop, folk, disco etc. He does have one of the most recognized voices.
My oldest child (son) is 31 yrs old and he is to me "forever young" so is my 23 yr old daughter when I look at them I see a sweet little boy on a skateboard and a little curly haired blonde baby girl....I also have a 15 yr old & a 12 yr old and it saddens me they've moved into teen years but again they NEVER grow old in their parents eyes. Never. I remember it all and I still see their young faces and I always will. This song is beautiful for sure. I love Rod Stewart he has tons of hit songs so there's plenty of reactions you could do to Rod Stewart. I can give you my favs list as he's one of my fav singers.
The prayer of every parent throughout time. The thoughts we have in our hearts at night as we look in on them, the chime in our soles as we watch them play and grow. He voiced the verry esence of being a good parent. Wish I'd have seen this much sooner. Thanks for sharing, Bless and be well all.
This is a beautiful song and the meaning of this song and mr Rod Stewart is a rock 🎸 legend in the rock and roll music 🥁 he's known all over the world 🌎 🎶 love him so much ❤ 💙 ♥ 💖 💕 💜 ❤ 💙
No. It's his producers son. He wrote it for his new son but didn't want to choose just one of his kids to sing to. I had my husband dance to that with our oldest for the father daughter dance at her wedding. Love me some Rod Stewart.
Hey Jo, thank you for watching. I know your daughter’s wedding was beautiful especially that father daughter dance. This song brought tears to my eyes.❤️❤️
@@ShawnandMel4Life in all honesty I was well into my new love for Rod Stewart when the news of my original love Elvis passing away came. I had it bad for so many artists lol but Elvis was always a constant. This song spoke to me when it came out. I knew as parents it would speak to you as well. Sir Rod Stewart has a vast catalog. Let's dig into it too
I really like y'all's energy. LOVE THIS SONG and I LOVE Rod Stewart. Subscribing for this one. My Dad sang this at my going away party when I was going in the Navy in 2006. Thanks!
Hey Shawn and Mel. I love all of your videos. One of my all time favorite Rod Stewart Songs is Hot Legs. The studio recording in my opinion, is the best version. It’s on the album Footloose and Fancy Free. Hot Legs is an awesome song! Thanks and keep on keep in’ on!
This song is a prayer set to rock and roll music. I loved it when it was released, 1988, because I became a father to a beautiful and brilliant baby daughter. Praise the Lord. Later, when she married, this was our father and daughter dance. Rod Stewart was a huge hit in the 1970s and young women were CRAZY about him. Interestingly, later in his career and after he enjoyed great success, as an artist, he wanted to record the music he enjoyed. That album was entitled, "American Song Book." Y'all should check it out.
My grandpa was a cop killed here in Washington there’s not a day I never think of him hit by a car after that I thought of suicide and I cut lines in my arms this was played at his funeral back the blue I miss you 😭💙💙
Please play Journey with Steve Perry and is solo career start with the 70's and up you will be amazed take care. I'm from Visalia, California Brandi Modrak

My son is 37 now and I always think of him and the years we watched MTV together when I hear this song
Makes me cry too.

I love this song and it’s my Mantra in life. I’m darn near 70 but feel like 30. Music plays a huge role in that. Thanks to my favorite couple.
When my mom was died, she had my uncle give me, my brothers and sister a CD of songs she picked out to remember her by. This song was on that CD.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

Guys, This Wonderful Song was originally written and recorded By Bob Dylan.
No it wasn't. They gave Bob a credit because it was similar in structure to a song of his.
