@@KChung-fg3kb Yep that's exactly what's happening, chasing slice of owl has multiple hitboxes when deflected from upclose and using the umbrella (since umbrella has more i-frames to deflect) makes it so you deflect all 3 hitboxes of it building consecutive posture damage
@@RamJamDee the umbrella and massive posture thing isn't an issue, it's a quirk of how that attack (chasing slice of owl) works, so up close that attack has multiple hitboxes and since you have more i-frames while using the umbrella it is possible to deflect multiple hitboxes from that attack and build up consecutive posture damage. But the guy has definitely moded the owl to be able to do that often otherwise it can only happen during specific instances

Could I ask how did you fit a sen throw after deflecting the first hit at 9:32, and deflect the second hit after? I try to replicate but always got hit on the second
Butterfly, Genichiro and Owl's movesets are clearly altered/modded to give you attacks which can be punished with massive posture damage (sweeps, thrust, and chasing slice in cases where they can't be triggered at all based on how they are programmed) this is clearly a fake speedrun and anyone who understands how sekiro works should be able to tell the difference. Also something weird is going with the audio during fake monk's deathblow and I wouldn't be surprised if this is spliced even.
I looked into the monk's mist raven death blow specifically and I've seen numerous people do it as well just fine. As for other things you brought up I really don't know but could you maybe send me what you think is a legit clear so I can compare the two? Not saying that you're wrong, but I'd like to confirm it for myself
Also the amount of posture damage he did on the first owl fight is impossible. I dont even know what the fuck he did. You’re definetely right about genichiro tho. I’ve beaten him well over 200 times and have never seen him do a stab after a deflect.
@@RamJamDeeonly the way of tomoe genichiro does it after his flurry combo. If you perfect deflect the very last swing he will go for a thrust. Not the genichiro ashina version though.

In my experience you should use umbrella a little earlier
