I appreciate the fact that Brotzman did what he did. It's a tough listen, but just the fact that that music was performed in the first place is pretty freakin' awesome. Brotzman passed in June of '23.

I did see that Fallon episode. What kinda shocked me was that the Roots should have known better. You know those cats are familiar with Brotzman. Hell, even I was offended.

I've seen Wynton numerous times and would rather see Mehldau these days.

What I hear in Kamasi's work isn't all that groundbreaking when one considers the work of Yusef Lateef, Alice Coltrane or Pharoah Sanders decades ago. Discuss...
    Carry on.

Hey Wylie, we're big fans of Kamasi and Yusef. We're still really NEW to jazz so Kamasi is still "ground breaking" for our ears. Pharoah's episode will be coming up in just a few weeks and be sure to tune in to see how we rate him! You may be surprised.

Oh my, that 30 second clip was awful. Now I know why you are having a hard time talking about it. How did this ever make the top 100?

Certainly not everyone's cup of tea. Listen to 'Nipples'and 'Balls' for more punishment.

Fantastic first 30 minutes, one of the most exciting in free jazz.
