Family Sessions #79 / "Cosmos"

We released our new album, called "Cosmos", a week ago! And on that occasion we have prepared something special for you here in our Family Sessions playlist. Live performances of all the songs, with friends! We’ll run one every week from now till we’ve played all the songs. First up is the title track, you guessed it, "Cosmos", with our go-to guy, Kjetil Steensnæs, on pedal steel and well known family member, Silje Vemøy, on piano and vocals. And our SO talented friends, Aagot Wilse and Live Hanken, on Omnichord, guitar and vocals. Behind the camera is of course Nikolai Grasaasen, and Kai Worley did the sound mix. Chris on guitar and Thomas on drums (and glockenspiel!) need no introduction. Oh, how we love our Darling West Family!
The videos are recorded in a space in Oslo called Dyrk Bryn, where we’re so lucky to be part of a creative collective run by Flott Gjort, in an old industrial building.

Not to sound all "This is the best song ever!" I'll just say that this is the best song ever! Now that I've gotten that out of my system, what is there not to like about this song? Great melody, great hook, the droning bassline perfectly riding on the simple but driving drums, the jazz licks from the guitar, the harmonies, and a steel guitar? What's that about? If you ain't moving some part of your body listening to this call the coroner because you ain't breathing!
