I live in San Francisco and have tickets to go see Wicked here in October with my sister It will be our 3 time seeing together and no one is gonna bring us down!❤ on sidenote it will be my 10th time watching it here in San Francisco
So exciting to watch! Fabulous capture, thank you so much! Just to add my tuppence here, I don't think the late flight was planned like in London. If you look carefully, the lift is not moving forward at all for a while, then it jerks forward, and the lights come on much too suddenly. Then the lights go up way ahead of the lift. It's clearly something that disrupted the synchronisation. I heard somewhere that some lifts are particularly fussy about being properly locked up before they start moving. Like, even if the actress is properly strapped in, but she somehow didn't give it a final check up, it's still doesn't show up as locked up and the computer won't let it rise. In some instances, the actresses realise this to be the case and give it a little shake to send the green light through. It looks to me that here, for whatever reason, the lift was late to go, and then it went out of sync with most of the other elements, but boy, how exciting to watch.
I think it’s just a choice in London to time the moment she begins to rise with the final downbeat of the crescendo. London also time the lights which track with Elphaba to Fade up at the exact same moment as that. Personally I find it really satisfying when I see it live ☺️ and I imagine for people who have never seen it before that it adds some extra suspense to that moment, as it’s not clear what’s about to happen. When I saw it happen in this video I loved it haha!!
@@Scandisk10 makes sense, because on one of your recent videos I can hear it, but very slightly. I don’t like the change, or see it’s purpose- it’s not an improvement.
She started going up a tad bit later than usual. This particular ascent seems to be right in line with how it’s done in London, where the lift starts to rise right on the downbeat before “so if you care to find me….”

The lift is soooo late here. Wonder what happened?
I honestly thought this was gearing up to be a no fly. You can imagine the high sigh of relief when I saw her moving forward.

It’s still there. I am thinking the mixing on the ensemble has been turned down recently.
