mexican style is pressure style more inside type he is clearly not doing that he to me just has a very southpaw 101 boxing style nothing slick or fancy but very technical

A mainstream athlete or celebrity (preferably a UFC fighter or boxer) enters kickboxing competition 2. A kickboxer markets themselves as brash and confident, and backs their words up with consistent phenomenal performances against their competition's elite. Events like this, at least in theory, would cause a stir within the kickboxing community, creating a domino effect where it ends up reaching martial arts media, then mainstream media, and, last but not least, the public.

My goodness. This is an amazing breakdown. I've been watching his fights over and over trying to breakdown his style. I managed to pick up a few things but i never noticed some of the things you mentioned.
He seems to be a very strong boxer compared to his opponents. Traditionally, since there is more money in boxing, kickboxers or muaythai trainees who show boxing proficiency will be pulled out and selected for boxing camps. That's typically the way things go. But I suppose that if you burn with a passion for kickboxing, that you would stay and just use your superior boxing as an advantage.

well Benny Urquidez is one of the GOAT in international kickboxing regardless of what people think the Historians have said this many times now Bill Wallace on the other hand fought ONLY american above the waist rules and fought only karate type kickboxers so his competition was far less and nothing compared to Urquidez lus let it be known Kickoxers from the before 2k time period fought 10-12 round World title fights so their toughness was uncomparable to todays 5 round max fighters with their "play it safe" style

I love throwing teeps and lead leg round kicks from a narrow stance hands high with a thai march. Feels sweet. It's just so freaking hard to defend takedowns from it so whenever I get too excited with it and try it in MMA sparring guys just bowl me over hahahah Honestly it's faster to shoot a takedown than it is to drop your hands and hips from a thai march into anything resembling a defensive wrestling position, it's a shame. It's hella impressive watching guys like Jorge Masvidal stand up straight and throw body kicks without getting taken down every time
Yeah, not to mention how good of a tool it is to use to Feint with and constantly have some type of pressure on your opponent, especially if you combine it with your Jab for a double threat
Try long guard and a variant called dracula guard ..dracula is better 4 mma or self def and it's great to use elbow counter after blocking. Watch sylvia muy Thai Chuck has best channel for tech in muy Thai she is in thailand training with all greats and style of his change with gym there so all are lil different and styles are unique

Kickboxing should be so much more mainstream, imagine kickboxing with MMA gloves and almost all MMA rules, with no wrestling, grappling etc. It's basically what is interesting and what people want to see in MMA.
@@Manc82 The One Championship muay thai rule set is basically if the old-school K-1 rule set also allows elbow strikes. That type of rules that would be ideal for a global unified kickboxing ruleset for all professional kickboxing organizations.
You can also watch his fight against Sato in the K1 final of 2010. He uses his speed landing many jabs. Sato looked like a clown at the end of the fight cause his nose was bleeding.

In an interview with ONE FC he summarized his style as Muay Thai with Mexican style boxing.

Its not always about the money. But The Doctor gets paid pretty damn well. He makes more then the bulk of boxers.
