What! Glaze comes right off!!!!
I split one of myone of my kiln shelves in half the other day. Trying to chisel off glaze Maybe I should invest in these shelves.
Ok so the advancer shelves clean up great but how about the bottoms of all those pots with globs of melted glaze on them.?? How do you get that off without damaging the vessel??
By using a grinding and sanding disc on your pottery wheel. It’s very simple and fast.
Would these shelves be good for glass fusing. Thank you!
I would love to purchase an “Advancer” kiln shelf. I own a small KM 614-3 kiln and need a kiln shelf that is 8 sided “10 inch”. I have been unable to locate an “Advancer” shelf that fits into my small kiln. Can someone tell me where I can purchase one? A 10” round shelf would also work.
So, how do you get the glaze drips off of the shelves? Can you scrape the glaze drips off? Or do you have to sand it off. 🤔 Would love to buy some, but the cost is ridiculous!!! 😮

@@rOHRshackartpottery They used to carry them, maybe that's changed...? A couple years ago when I looked into buying one, Advancer linked me directly to Smith and Sharpe's website.
@@rOHRshackartpottery Continental Clay carries Advancer shelving, just across the street from Smith and Sharpe in Minneapolis.
@@deepashtray5605 Thank you for your help. I found their website and wrote them an email requesting the product. Please let me know if you have any other ideas. I had hoped that John the Potter would tell me where I could purchase smaller Advancer shelves!
@@rOHRshackartpottery If you ever need any fire brick or other kiln building materials Smith & Sharpe is an excellent and relatively affordable source. Can't say if it applies to the Advancer products but apparently they can custom cut shelves too.
