Of course, if you watch this clip again, you would see that the Elder Daughter and 2nd Daughter actually knew it's Wukong while the others not, but they still let him continues as they know how suffering is their mother all these years, and hope to give their mother a chance to marry the guy she loves along these years... Well.. sad to say that in this game story dimension, it's very likely that both Zhu Bajie and especially ChangEr, would still undergo the suffering again by not being together. There are actually a lot messages and easter eggs inside this clip, but the English translation here is so bad, it's like totally a different script with the original Mandarin one. If you know how many ancient stories reference as well as real life structures the developer is using in this clip, you would be amazed. Also for the song that being played in this video, some of the lyrics are actually written with the ancient chinese books reference that is hinting us this is a story between Zhu Bajie & ChangEr instead of Wukong. And if you look closely in the Spider Monster in the end, you can see there's a Moth at the back of Spider. Why? It's because this is a hint for audience as Moth in Mandarin is the "Er" in "ChangEr". This is why I wanted to write this comment so bad so all people from anywhere in the world could understand that it's so much more than just a good graphic game. Ugh, Some correctness the original: Zhu Baiji did get punished to the Earth but not unlimited reincarnations, he was forced to become a pig youkai and about his love, I don't really have a thought that Zhu Baiji's love for ChangEr or even any women he chased is real love tho, just horny accidents, in original, he is a symbol of pervertion, lazyness, gluttony, and stupidity, he once kidnapped and forced an innocent girl to marry him (Ofc thanks to Sun Wukong and Tang San, he failed). The 7 fairies are not goddesses of weaving, they are daughters of Jade Emperor.

The women are based on the 7 Demon Spider Sisters who capture Tang Sanzang(the monk) and are beaten by Sun. The person captured is probably Zhū Bājiè(Pigsy) as the "Mother" says "The Heavens have not been kind to you"(In the original story, Pigsy tried to seduce the Moon Goddess and as punishment was sent to earth.) The mother seems to be based on Chang'e(Moon Goddess) and the Scorpion Demoness based on the way the sisters and even the she speaks.The "Uncle" is a reference to the Hundred-Eyed Demon(centipede like demon that tries to help the sisters in the story.)
Chang'e in the original mythology is a descriptive title for Goddesses who living on the moon. The name is commonly misperceived as a single Goddess who lives on the moon with a rabbit. Before the final release with all the information we have so far, the true identity of that old lady remains uncertain.

It is not a name owned by a singular character. I would not assume you are good at Chinese by look at your name, otherwise you should have known it by now. But if you have someone doing the translation for you, feel free to search up analyze videos on Bilibili. How meticulous of their analysis on each frame are mind blowing.

The previous release date announced by IGN is actually not real, and Game Science is probably still under high pressure of game development. I suggest that we just regard these trailers as an annual report about the development progress, seems everthing is going pretty well right now. Just give more patience for them, I hope.
i know we have been always taliking about this game gonna relese in 2023,but according to what i hear there will be over 100 monster in this game, if we only count there will be 30 or 40 main bosses ,and they have to desigh more than 200 actions of each one,i think there is still lot of work to do to make it perfact...so unfortunately i don't think this game gonna relese in 2023,if they do,this probably gonna be the next 2077...and they show this cutscene is for recruiting character expression motion capture engineers,so clearly they know their problems. let's just forget about this and give them more time
