- Many aspiring models fall prey to modeling scam as a result of not understanding what are reputable versus shady modeling practices. With thousands of modeling agencies all over the world and with the ease of social media having access to more people, scammers often approach models online and pretend to be a reputable agency.
Someone pretending to be a modeling scout may also approach you on the street and say that they are working with a top agency. It's easy to get caught up in their lies because you think your modeling goals are finally going to happen based on how much they tell you that you have the potential to be a model.
PRO TIP FOR ASPIRING MODELS:
Never sign a contract the day someone offers you one.
Always google the agency name and make sure they are reputable...call the agency to versify the scout works for them. You also do not have to attend a modeling convention that costs $4,000 to get discovered.

What about agencies want to put the beginner model through a year long course for $2400. I just can't stomach it.
nope thats a scam, agencies will never ask you to pay.
no you don't need to pay that. Ses there are fees and cost to become a model (portfolio, travel) and you could even book a session with a modeling coach...
but you certainly don't have to pay $2400 to get started and you also should not pay that.
I do a coaching session for $300 plus there are lots of free videos on my page if someone wants to figure things out on their own.

What agency would you recommend that does not ask for money just for bookings?
@@jennymbogori5525 most reputable agencies don’t ask for money. The only thing most models do have to pay for is website fee to be on agency site. That’s normal. There are thousands in the world who don’t charge any additional fees besides that.. So basically any that says they need money, go down the list and submit to another. Models.com also has listings

Hey i recently think ive been scammed through revolution models! Talking about i need to pay 2500 or 3k before then start booking me.. ive paid $300 so far and this wholw thing happened yesterday! I took digitals at a studio and i guess i was not thinking clearly because i never got them and signed a few things and set up a payment method the first of every month and now im thinking its one big scam 😢
a reputable/ legit modeling agency will never have you pay money in order for them to go out and find you bookings/jobs. real modeling agencies get payed after you get payed. for example they will book you a job at Nike and when nike cashes your check then the modeling agency takes a percentage out of it. it sounds like you’ve gotten scammed i suggest get out of it quick
