I honestly began looking through the inserts to see it was real. And it was real. It was when she asked me to give her my bank info to give me an electronic check. I guess, I have received all of the scams you mentioned on this video🤦♀. Even, I have done a free art work for one of my clients. they appreciated my arts and said they will give projects randomly, but never received any massage from them again 🤦♀
It's not personal and you shouldn't take it like this! These scammers target small accounts specifically which they consider easy targets, and they use automatic messages sent by bots to target these small account and send their messages. They have likely never actually seen your art themselves with their own eyes and it's not a reflection of you, your art or your hard work. It's a morally bankrupt automated large-scale attack.
@@mirandameskhi9337 I wish I had time to have a bit of fun at their expense, but unfortunately I do not 😅 So I just report their comments as spam. Eventually, I went in my Instagram settings and put "NFT" into my forbidden phrases to block those comments entirely.
Few days ago a woman called Devon_Leah_ who's profile says she is nft designer , collector and promoter (but the profile is private and she hasn't accepted me to follow her) asked if I could sell her 3 of my drawings (she attached the photo) as nft, saying that she offers one thousand dollars each ..! Seems a lot to me..I know a few about nft so I watched some videos trying to understand the subject. Can't comprehend if it's a scam how she is going to joke on me..? But probably it is. What do you think?
Thanks for your video. I was suspicious about a random message on my art account (then i don't do commission but i was maybe she liked what i do) so i asked her 30euros for a portrait because i don't consider myself as a professional artist and she offered me 300euros and i was wtfffff. Anybody who would be logic wouldn't spend 300euros for a portrait from a unprofessional artist. So yeah i see it more clearly now
Professional or no, you should charge more than 30 euros for a portrait. It's going to take you hours to do and drawing is a rare skill that not everyone has. When considering the hours put into it, even a high school kid working at a fast food joint would earn more than that. Why do you think you deserve less just because you're not professional yet? It's still work. The red flag here was the person offering you more than you charged. While 300 euros is NOT too much for a portrait, I don't know a single persona alive who would offer more money that what the person charges just because...
Such valuable information , especially in regards to the fact that I’m now completely sure that the NFT offers I’m getting daily are scammers - thank you SO MUCH for your advice !
Thank you for all the amazing advices, a few years back people used to ask me to make sample art for them on fiverr, which I should have watermarked or asked money for. I now know that no one should be asking for free art, it's absurd because they always leave without paying or moving forward with the project.
Thank you so much! I get a lot of offers to sell for NFT including the red flags you mencioned. Once I was offered 3000 per painting immediately, which is crazy.
I refuse to pay anybody to hang my art up or even take part in any galleries. They are all trying to rip us off. Why don’t they go after attorneys and doctors the way they do artists? I’m sick of it.
Don't let anyone scare you into not showing your own dang art exactly the way you WANT TO. If you don't want to go through galleries, you can sell it yourself 😉 There are ways. Just don't hide it away, that's such a shame! Means they've won.
I have had these NFT-offers with empty profiles several times. Luckily I have used my discernment and always thought there was something fishy going on and sure enough most of the profiles eventually disappeared. It is still disheartening, because I want to sell my art, yet get no serious offers. It's already quite a niche career to sell stuff on Instagram and these scammers are just ruining it even more. Ps: your cat is very cute.
Real art buyers are out there, and we can find them! The scammers are an annoyance, but they are not a representation of the entire market :) P.S. Thank you! Her name is Chloe and she's the real star of the channel
I appreciate this so so so much!!!! Thank you for this video! I just got my first one and I didn't want to say no straight away. like you said, it was a decent chunk of money and I'm in need of a decent pay check lol. But I also knew it sounded too good to be true. So much of the information out there is how I could turn my own art into NFTs but I couldn't find anything about someone else buying my art for that purpose.
@@LaszloGadanyi I have never heard of that particular offer, but make sure to ask them questions and look out for red flags in their answer. Are they asking you to pay for anything? Are they wanting to pay you by check? also Google the name of the company to see what comes up.
NFT's are mostly dead now anyways. Only a tiny fraction of the ones that sold for huge money have any value whatsoever anymore... at least according to a report on NPR a few days ago.
Great video! It helps a lot! I was especially curious about these NFT scams, and I was completely unaware of the vague wording red-flag. You pointed out everything very well!
I just got one. I asked them what they want me to draw, but they never told me, just told me the size they want not what to draw. I also asked them if they can pay by what I use for commissions, but they didn't answer the question. They also said they will pay $100 for each artwork and they wanted 7. They said they just wanted sketches so I quoted a price but they said they wanted to pay $100 dollars for each which is far more than my commission prices.

It’s crazy I’ve always made art for myself I’ve never wanted to make art for someone I don’t know why Maybe I thought I wasn’t good enough to ask for payment However now I’m a lot more confident in my skills so I started posting online and you know what it feels great however I feel like I’m entering into my first scam It sucks because it’s also the first time I’ve got some attention from someone online Kinda sad world we live in Makes me not even want to try you know Oh well We see what God has in store for me in the art world :) praying for something good
All the scams are annoying, but I find it best not to give these scammers the power to ruin my day or influence my career. There is so much positive to focus on instead!
The email got sent to me yesterday. They were telling they're impressed with my work and they need to know if I'm gonna be in an art show. I have no idea who the heck it was. I ignored it.
I'm not sure what the polygon network is, but the NFT space is FILLED with scams and art theft. If you still want to go forward, proceed VERY carefully. Don't share any personal info, don't send anyone any money, don't click any links sent to you by anyone and instead, go to the website by googling the website yourself. Even so, considering the low demand for NFTs, there's a high chance this is a scam so be prepared.
Hello Ness. Can you make a video on what are the going rates for art work? Maybe that doesn’t exist but how do artist gauge themselves? Perhaps you spoke about this can you tell me in which video?
Seems like calls to artists are popping up all the time now, I’m beginning to think they’re another type of art scam Don’t they usually charge ppl to submit art? Idk
What do you mean by calls to artists? Like art submission calls from companies? Those don't ask for money as far as I know so I'm confused about what you mean.
Thank you! I just got a message. He was asking my price at first. then he offered 2 ETH per piece and picked 4 artoworks to buy. NTF feels so scam. At first when it was new, it felt awesome and cool new way of art. But now it feels just scam. :D Amazing video and that just earned a new sub! :)
Nowadays yeah, they're all scams :/ The demand for NFTs has plummeted, but suddenly all the artists are getting contacted with this message. So suspicious!
So glad that you post such information...actuly I am also confuse...can you please tell the traits of non scammer? As the message I have received has no grammer mistake and they didn't offered me a high price...they are saying" I will make payment to you and you have to confirm that" also I asked them to assure me its not a scam they said it can never be...plz guide me
To be certain, you an ask for a down payment in advance before you start working on the art. Don't click on anything they send you to receive the money (those can be fake). Instead, check directly on your payment app (Paypal, Venmo, etc) to see if the money is received. In doubt, ask around in art Facebook groups to make sure if it's legit!
Thank you for making this video. I have a VERY small instagram art account (under 350 followers) and so far I've gotten around 4 or 5 scam dms. Today I got the last two and they were so suspicious that I had to look up common scams. It's kind of cruel to be honest, because I would love to get commissions so bad, but it always turns out to be a scammer. Does anyone have any advice for getting legit commissions btw? Maybe there is a community I can join or something, idk
Unfortunately, these scammers often target small accounts because they figure the artists will be desperate enough for commissions to overlook red flags... But I have noticed that after my account got over 1000 followers, these scams got less and less frequent. I have several videos about personal commissions as well as freelance work with companies, so I recommend looking through my videos for topics that interest you!
@@gavinreid2741 That's kind of insane when you think about it, 95% worthless. That hasn't happened to many industries! But from the beginning, few people could even see the point of NFTs. Once the hype is gone, you can't sustain a product that no one even sees the point of beyond trying to resell it...
@@gavinreid2741 That's great news actually. Maybe once the nft industry fully collapses they won't profit from these scams anymore, or at least not enough to buy fake followers for their fake profiles. Desperation can only bring you that far, so hopefully they are going to give up soon :/
You can post your art and may get feedback from the community (especially if you ask a specific question or specify what you're aiming to do) :) I try to comment to everyone when I can!
As long as you don't send money to the scammer, they can't do anything to you :) If you deposited checks, call your bank to let them know what happened and cancel them.
the NFT one doesnt really work tho cus i already have an opensea and put up my art just incase and then if someone asks for NFT i strictly send them there
I put the deposit in my account then I found out it was a scam before I sent them anything. What should I do? Can I just cancel the deposit? Good thing I didn’t send anything to them
Good catch!! If you can, the best would be to contact your bank about how to proceed. They may want to revoke it right away, or wait for their own manual check in the system to go through. You may not have to do anything but wait, but it's best to be sure!
Have you ever heard of someone posing as an artist and asking you if they can use your picture for their art and saying that they will pay you a part of the commission?
@@theneedleinthehaystack4774 yeah exactly. I inquired further just because I kinda got a scam vibe and they wanted to know if my bank would allow me to cash checks if I took a picture and said they would send me a picture of the check. I'm guessing some sort of money laundering or something
Hey there,.... I was checking through some artwork page on Instagram and I across your profile, you’re a wonderful artist 🥰😍. I would like to know if you’re available for commission..
I am available for pattern or surface illustration commissions only - email details at info@vanessastoilova.com if that is what you're looking for. I will of course, be checking for anything suspicious about your request ;)
NFT mean non-fungible token, and it's basically a digital image that's been certified as unique. It's the kind of thing that I thought I understood, but the more I read about it the less I get it 😅 People buy NFTs no for the art, but with the hope of reselling it at a higher price. It's basically more of an investment (which is the kindest way I can put it, really it's a get rich quick scheme). The space is riddled with art theft and scams, and there are a lot more people who want to see than people who want to buy...
It really does hurt our feelings! Especially because they often go after newer account who they assume have less experience. Many of these artists are so stoked to get their first commission offer. It’s cruel! And thank you!
These things have recently started to pop up as of late. It’s no longer the “Dm to promote” spam anymore. But strangers who I have no idea of, usually with empty profiles or profiles that literally have no sense of being interested in any artistic concept would ask me for commissions. I do wish to open art commissions. But it’s gotten to the point where I ignore those stranger dms, and only take commissions from people who I know or have interacted for a while beforehand.
My funniest experience: I uploaded an interracial boy/boy Valentine's Day fan art of two Harry Potter characters to social media. Literally seconds after uploading it I got a comment, someone asking if I'm open for commissions because he wants me to make a portratit of a dog for his son't birthday. I check the profile and it's set up to look like an american, Christian fater of two kids, in his 40s or 50s... yeah.. that wasn't a red flag, that was an entire Soviet military parade!
Sounds similar to this?⬇️ "His name Is Nicky, His favorite pet is dog, he sometimes play fetch, tug-of- war, wrestle. He also likes monkey too haha. Your work caught my attention, I want you to draw two picture of my son's pet which will have his name written Jago lol willing to pay you $500 for that. I'm paying $500 because you still have to deliver the art to my address, And the money should cover for the delivery cost, I'm a genuine person and I don't like being insulted this way. I only got attracted to your beautiful artwork" This message is the reason why I’m watching this video rn😅 I’m didn’t "insult” him, just sent my commissions details
@@Celune-art Wow.. That English sounds so broken they might actually be fishing for victims who are not native English speakers to make them even less likely to pursue any proper legal action. You know, the tactic where you chase away everyone who can turn out to be a threat.
My favorite one is someone DM'ing me saying "Do you do commission?" as well as "My son wants his dog drawn for his birthday. He's three years old and loves spider-man. Give me your name so I send you a cashers check from his step dad's bank account. Here's a picture of him." And then she sends you a picture of a baby giraffe or some shit and also she's 97 years old XD
All over Instagram still when I post my art there are at least one or two messages, not even good English, saying something like "you have some really clean artwork" and they want to buy it as an NFT and they want to you pm them. I guess they only want the clean work vs. the dirty work. LOL!
Am I paranoid or is weird when someone requesting a commission isn't following you and is asking questions that are clearly in the bio? Also hit with the, ".....this is my budget," before asking about rates.
Kudos to you for making this Video! I've learned so much from this especially the Check and Money Order part as well the vague detail that Scammers give. My Family been wanting me to get back into Selling my Art and one of them wants me to try out doing NFT for Opensea, but I been kinda timid cause last Commission I did for a Client they ended up not paying for it. So yeah bad experience. I've tried doing Art on Deviantart though things was slow for me there so idk if I should try making NFT.
Honestly, the NFT space is filled with scammers and thieves :/ It's inherently risky. Even those who are there to buy aren't really interested in art, but are looking to resell the NFTs for profit. If you are interested in NFTs that's one thing, but if you're not then don't be pressured to get in that space. There are many safer and more fun ways to make money as an artist, like freelance work, commissions, selling art products or even making UA-cam videos about your art.
I received one just now. It was the first commission, I was incredibly happy; but my boyfriend happily warned me and it does look like a scam. I feel so bad...
Im trying to make it big with my art. Not just trying to make money, but to be recongized. I wish it was easy to trust these people bc this is the steps to being big. I just got nft dm but i had to do research to be sure n after seeing this video, i had to block. Thank you for educating me!
I am curious as to how some of these work. I never reply to anyone complimenting my art because I think they are scammers by default. The nfts are obvious and the ones that have 5 posts with random photos. But I get confused when it's seemingly legit instagram accounts. If it weren't because some of these say the exact same things they would look legit. I got a DM from an Instagram account that looked like a professional artist saying: "Hello I love your works They are beautiful unique and exquisite Are they up for sales?" Which I knew was a scam, but I wonder if they hacked the account because it is very legit. Then I got a dm from another person with the exact same words so I confirmed it was a scam. I always know they are scams because I am a beginner and I know my artwork is not good enough to buy, nor I want to sell it because I am just learning. But I can see how some of these can fool people.
Just complimenting your art isn't necessarily a scam, and I hop you won't grow to be suspicious of every compliment! You'll get lots of legit compliments in your comments, but these people won't follow it up with shady NFT offers or suspicious vague wording like "your work is exquisite". One day if you feel like selling your works, set it up through your website or an Etsy shop so that any potential buyers have to do the transaction on your own terms :)
I got approached by a person and he wants to buy my artwork as NFT and is asking me to upload my artwork to opensea so he can buy that artwork from there for 4ETH each. Is it a scam ?
I got an email today, from a buyer that wants to buy 3 of my drawings/artworks for crypto money. He wants NFTs and he offerent a nice amount of money for each piece. I wonder, could this be a scam? What do I have to lose if I make NFTs and sell them?
When a 3rd party wants to buy your art to make NFTs, it's ALWAYS a scam. They will tell you that you need to send them a "gas fee" to mint the NFT, then they'll send you all the money. Of course, they pocket your gas fee and disappear. The only safe way to get into NFTs is to mint them yourself. You don't actually need a 3rd party person to do that. BUT be aware that NFTs is a dying market, so making NFTs is a very risky business move that will almost certainly have no return.
It’s always me versus the world whenever I go to a discord server filled with scam artists I’m used to getting banned out of servers just for talking smack about them and putting them in their place. And NFT people live under my shoe. I laugh hard in their face whenever I see them. They couldn’t draw to save their life. Just a bunch of copy and paste work.
If you encounter these scams so much, you're likely marketing yourself in the wrong places. On Instagram, you can block the NFT offers by blacklisting keywords in your settings. While talking smack about scammers can be fun, it's a big waster of time and I think overall discouraging for your outlook on your art career :)
@@OumM-oy8qd dont feel bad.... some people get scammed later than others... its better to learn from a small amount than to learn from a huge mistake... We've all been scammed before.... and it only made us wiser
Good thing I decided to look this up, I was happy that finally someone was interested in my art, but I was like if you like my art so much why don't you follow me and like the art you say you like so much 😂. So yeah thanks for the video, I saw all the red flags you mentioned.
9k is not necessarily too much depending on if there are any copyrights transferred with the purchase and what they're going to use the art for. However, legitimate clients NEVER just offer a budget, they ask us how we charge first!
I've gotten these in my inbox. I hate it because then reading them uses spoons I could use for working on projects, maintaining my home, or interacting with someone with a legitimate commission job. The hearing impaired one, I sometimes have a problem with both memory and sound processing, I hate it. Where I live we also have spotty internet service so it makes using the audio on zoom calls... iffy. My son managed his zoom classes but his teachers also got used to repeating themselves or having him "robot out" when trying to talk. So.. those are some reasons I prefer business talk in text unless I am actually in person... then they need to be comfortable a recorder and note taking. If someone wants me to schedule a zoom call I always let them know about my crappy satellite internet (guess the company) in case the audio quality is poor, the call drops, or it turns out to be a day I'm needing things repeated an aggravating amount of times. I don't bring it up though unless I suspect someone wants a (despised) video or audio call. I also try to avoid audio calls because I've had my fair share of "I never said that," or "that's not what I said," later on.
You can always refuse video calls! You're not obligated to do that just because they asked. You have really good reasons to refuse them too - I usually just refuse them because I loathe calls!
Great information as always. The NFT scam is so annoying xD. I'm so happy that your channel is growing! Your courses (bought Prompts and Level 1) are amazing. I can't wait to finish the book I'm painting to build up my portfolio with the prompts you gave.

Thank you very much for the information. I had the same experience lately about nft scam, I was doubtful and confused before your explaination video came out but now I have the answer. Thanks a lot!
The one with the academic organizer was in my inbox a few months back and I went through getting the check and having my bank verify it. Never started work and we were able to stop it before anything went too far but it’s funny to see the EXACT email plus the follow up with a price quote.
Generally artists are encouraged NOT to accept money through Paypal gift, checks/money order/bank Draft and NFT. So, it is safe to accept through Bank Transfer and Paypal but through invoice. Am I right? Is there any other channel which is NOT SAFE and SAFE? I wish to make a list here so I will know what to be caution.
Technically, any payment method has the possibility of being unsafe but scams are not frequent with Paypal invoicing and bank transfer. Be on the lookout for red flags and get a down payment before starting to work, and you'll be fine! :)
I just got an NFT offer from a person who looks legit and says he is an art collector (as mentioned in his bio) and wants to collect art for their upcoming exhibition. They made 4 selections from my photography account and then offered a total price of 20000$ for whole 4 pics which qualified my expectations because they are actually good. I wonder if they are a scammer because i said that I will be taking their wallet address and putting it in to reserve the buyer so essentially i wont be clicking any scammy links.
Thread CAREFULLY. The demand for NFTs are plummeting, and yet ALL the artists are receiving NFT offers lately. It's incredibly suspicious. You can try to proceed without clicking links, but beware if they ask you to pay a gas fee, or to send files before getting paid. Stay safe out there!
It is probably a scam. They sent a screenshot but you never received the money, or presumably an email from Paypal warning you about the arrival of the payment. Screenshots can be faked! I've never had a client send me "transaction info" before for a Paypal payment, because it's instant so it's not needed. My guess is, this transaction info was camouflage so you wouldn't question why you actually didn't receive the payment in your account.
No.2 - example, I got a DM asking for 3 of my pieces for $200 each and I nearly choked on my water laughing because I have just started off and my artwork that I posted were unfinished drafts and just sketches, doodles, and couple of small, tiny paintings that I am very aware of not being all that🤣. My work is ok...ok doesn't sell so I was like no thank you.
It sounds suspicious because they offered money upfront - a real client usually asks you how much you would charge. It's NOT suspicious because $200 is too much for your art. I'm sad reading how you dissed yourself :(
Hello, I'm curious about your opinion. As a traditional pen and ink artist I have received a message from someone asking to turn 3 of my pieces into NFTs for 3.5 Eth each. It seems too good to be true, before I spend money on gas, how would you verify they are a legitimate buyer?
I suppose that with the overpayment scam, you could just call the bank and double check that it's actually cleared first? Honestly it sounds like this could even happen with a legitimate client, so maybe it's just best practice anyway.
I'm not sure if the bank would look at the cheque right away when you call them. And some of these fake cheques look very convincing, so even if you deposit it at the counter, sometimes they don't know. The only way to be sure is wait for someone at the bank to complete the transaction and get the money from the client's account. That can take several days or even up to a couple weeks, but yes it would ensure safety. I prefer not to bother with that and refuse cheques outright as a payment method. It's not 1960 anymore!
Thnx for the Vids, I just got DMs from my IG 3 days ago that she wants to purchase some of my artwork she ask me to put it in NFT and she will pay me 10eth per artwork. Which is a good amount of money. Her IG is new and has no followers but showing she has a decent and glamorous life. She picked 3 artworks and she said, to let her know if my works got minted so she's ready to purchase. I'm kinda hoping it's real but after checking many scams and your videos, I'm starting to lose hope. And I don't want to pay Mint Fee if my works won't sell. She doesn't give me any website to pay for, she just waiting for me to upload it. So I'm still figuring out how she's going to scam me?
They have multiple angles to get money, and sometimes it's not immediately apparent. They can scam with Paypal, Venmo, cheque, spoof sites, etc. Whenever it's NFTs, assume it's a scam! Stay safe out there!

I'm sorry to hear about that! Stay safe out tehre!
Over the last weekend, I was targeted eight times, once by a PayPal scam and the rest by nft art scams.
Wow, 8 times in a week is a lot! :o
Great overview Vanessa! Helpful information that people should be aware of - thanks for sharing!
Thank you for stopping by and the nice comment hun, always so happy to meet you here! ☺

@@ArtBusinesswithNess Thanks for the words of encouragement. Also, aren't cats always the real stars? Lol.

I'm glad you did your research before blindly accepting! NFT scams are everywhere right now, stay safe!
Thanks for the heads up. I am likewise being inundated with offerings only to find the cut and paste wording to other artists.
Is a web creation on Fine Art America safe

Hi Ness ,Thanks for sharing this information. I just got an email for buying my one art 4.5 ETH and shared a NFT marketplace link with me.
They're persistent!
@@user-tv7bj5mg8t Don't get involved with NFTs and you can never go wrong. It's just a cesspool of scams and art theft.

Hello Ness. Can you make a video on what are the going rates for art work? Maybe that doesn’t exist but how do artist gauge themselves? Perhaps you spoke about this can you tell me in which video?
I have a video on pricing that could help shed some light: ua-cam.com/video/sekb-qo5xF0/v-deo.html
Seems like calls to artists are popping up all the time now, I’m beginning to think they’re another type of art scam
Don’t they usually charge ppl to submit art? Idk
What do you mean by calls to artists? Like art submission calls from companies? Those don't ask for money as far as I know so I'm confused about what you mean.
Thank you! 👍

I don't know what you mean. You uploaded your art where? What are your goals? This is a video about art scams and you are way off topic.
Thank you! I just got a message. He was asking my price at first. then he offered 2 ETH per piece and picked 4 artoworks to buy. NTF feels so scam. At first when it was new, it felt awesome and cool new way of art. But now it feels just scam. :D
Amazing video and that just earned a new sub!
I think they're getting desperate. On the BBC recently said 95% of NFTs are now worthless.
Could you recommend a few other payment methods for clients abroad besides Paypal?
You can accept credit card payment with platforms like Stripe or Wave. Wire transfer is also very safe.

I got scam massages every day and more time going than more my art rising in price 😂 they started from 100$ and now 5,400$😂😂😂😂😂
The scams are constant now, it's gross!
What is NFT?
NFT mean non-fungible token, and it's basically a digital image that's been certified as unique. It's the kind of thing that I thought I understood, but the more I read about it the less I get it 😅 People buy NFTs no for the art, but with the hope of reselling it at a higher price. It's basically more of an investment (which is the kindest way I can put it, really it's a get rich quick scheme). The space is riddled with art theft and scams, and there are a lot more people who want to see than people who want to buy...
The real crime is that they hurt your feelings with their insincere compliments 🥲
Also, you're beautiful 😊
It really does hurt our feelings! Especially because they often go after newer account who they assume have less experience. Many of these artists are so stoked to get their first commission offer. It’s cruel!
And thank you!
Nothing better than thinking someone is buying your art, then they say NFT
NFT is another bad N word 😅
These things have recently started to pop up as of late. It’s no longer the “Dm to promote” spam anymore. But strangers who I have no idea of, usually with empty profiles or profiles that literally have no sense of being interested in any artistic concept would ask me for commissions.
I do wish to open art commissions. But it’s gotten to the point where I ignore those stranger dms, and only take commissions from people who I know or have interacted for a while beforehand.
Thankfully, the fakes are often easy to see from their suspicious profiles! Like photos of cars or something 😅
When I get these scams, I give them the address to the local FBI fraud division. They do not come back.
Good one!
I report those "payment" from fake PayPal emails as phishing
My funniest experience: I uploaded an interracial boy/boy Valentine's Day fan art of two Harry Potter characters to social media. Literally seconds after uploading it I got a comment, someone asking if I'm open for commissions because he wants me to make a portratit of a dog for his son't birthday. I check the profile and it's set up to look like an american, Christian fater of two kids, in his 40s or 50s... yeah.. that wasn't a red flag, that was an entire Soviet military parade!
OMG no way!! 😂 That's hilarious, thanks for sharing!!!
HA! The "obvious Christian" scammer is one I'm very familiar with, but instead of art, they were running a rental scam.

I only got attracted to your beautiful artwork"
This message is the reason why I’m watching this video rn😅 I’m didn’t "insult” him, just sent my commissions details
Some of these scams are so badly done and obvious, it's almost embarassing!
All over Instagram still when I post my art there are at least one or two messages, not even good English, saying something like "you have some really clean artwork" and they want to buy it as an NFT and they want to you pm them. I guess they only want the clean work vs. the dirty work. LOL!
LOLLL what a weird wording! Clean artwork wtf... If you get tired of those, you can go in your settings and block specific words (like NFT)
Am I paranoid or is weird when someone requesting a commission isn't following you and is asking questions that are clearly in the bio?
Also hit with the, ".....this is my budget," before asking about rates.
That in itself isn't enough to determine 100% if it's a scam, but it's certainly suspicious and makes it worth asking lots of follow up questions!
I'm so sorry to hear that, hun :( Don't be discouraged, there ARE real commissions out there!
Im trying to make it big with my art. Not just trying to make money, but to be recongized. I wish it was easy to trust these people bc this is the steps to being big. I just got nft dm but i had to do research to be sure n after seeing this video, i had to block. Thank you for educating me!
You're doing good by doing your research and being cautious! Stay safe out there!
It's easy to tell, the scammers don't understand the art and never do any work without deposit, the real clients will pay you.
That's exactly right!
NFTs are always scams nowadays. Don't mess with it at all!
A scammer wanted to buy my artwork for 14eth on nft... I said dude no way it costs that much....

I was offered 9k for one of my art works, i just laughed.

Its funny how they always offer me 7 ETH for Nft, no matter which work "they want"
Yep, funny that 😅
I just got an NFT offer from a person who looks legit and says he is an art collector (as mentioned in his bio) and wants to collect art for their upcoming exhibition.
I've got the axect same offer for 4 of my pictures via Instagram. Are the initals DR?
hello I got commission and my client sent transaction info before I drew but my paypal balance is still 0 is it a scam?
It is probably a scam. They sent a screenshot but you never received the money, or presumably an email from Paypal warning you about the arrival of the payment. Screenshots can be faked! I've never had a client send me "transaction info" before for a Paypal payment, because it's instant so it's not needed. My guess is, this transaction info was camouflage so you wouldn't question why you actually didn't receive the payment in your account.
@@ArtBusinesswithNess Thank you, this is very helpful for artists

That's easy enough: if they say NFT it's a scam! You should run and block!
Is like we have the scammer at hand man
hello. Studio8Worx. Did you get follow up story on this? I am very curious, since I just got a similar request. Thank you.
They have multiple angles to get money, and sometimes it's not immediately apparent. They can scam with Paypal, Venmo, cheque, spoof sites, etc. Whenever it's NFTs, assume it's a scam! Stay safe out there!
Yeeesss!!! Call them out girl!!! ❤❤❤
High five!
