- This might be the BEST BBQ IN THE WORLD! Maybe.
I took Bobu and Han Meimei to Xita Laotaitai 西塔老太太, a restaurant from Shenyang, a city in Northeast China, otherwise known as Dongbei 东北.
The Xita neighbourhood in Shenyang is home to many of China's Korean ethnic minority group, however Xita BBQ is not Korean BBQ; it's uniquely Chinese! And in my opinion, it's might be the tastiest BBQ in the world! Of course, I had to take my parents to let them try for themselves.
So, if you want to see what the world's best BBQ (maybe) looks and tastes like, this video is for you!

They are atypical Brits. They are very open minded and ready to try new things. Many Brits won't even touch garlic or balk in horror at seeing a fish served with its head, or turn away from chicken feet. There's an innate sense of feeling of "superiority" in that all this is "barbaric", that civilised people don't eat such "disgusting" things. But Stu and his folks are not your typical Brits. They have been out of the UK.

next time you can ask the waitstaff to get you a little foil tray to put the garlic in, so it won't fall through the net. add some sesame oil in there to help fry up the garlic as well. it's great.

The food looks so delicious! I want to try everything--even the potato ball! Love the way Heather glared at Bob for dropping food and needing napkins! Also, good on Bob for saving his appetite for the sugar and not wasting it on the lettuce wraps lol! I wonder if using metal chopsticks is common to that whole northeast region and not just the Koreas~
In fact, all of this comes from a minority ethnic group in Northeast China: the Korean ethnic group. They are closer to ancient Korea in terms of food (North Korea+South Korea).Including metal chopsticks, in fact, the difference between Korean chopsticks and Chinese chopsticks is that the upper part of Chinese chopsticks is square and longer, while Korean chopsticks are round and shorter.

这是中国朝鲜族风格烤肉，朝鲜族烤肉与韩国烤肉最大的不同就是酱料，韩国烤肉酱料是由豆瓣酱、酱油、洋葱碎、黑胡椒和蒜末调制而成，中国朝鲜族烤肉酱料是由芝麻酱、白醋、酱油、白糖、香菜碎调制而成。另外韩国烤肉的品质要低于中国朝鲜族烤肉，韩国烤肉基本都使用牛里脊作为原料，而中国朝鲜族烤肉使用品质更好的上脑、肋条、眼肉、油边等不同位置的牛肉，每一种都有不同的风味和口感。

You and your parents are absolutely fabulous, so nice to see them enjoying themselves. I laugh when you said the Chinese words looks beautiful because there's a quote where it says"The Guide for Asian languages and it says how you can tell the difference between Chinese, Korean and Japanese writing. They said Chinese have big scary symbols, Korean have squary face-like symbols with circles and Japanese have curvy, little cute symbols. Is that how people see these it?
I guess some people see it like that. I don't think Chinese characters are scary. It really depends on the fonts I guess. A lot of popular Chinese fonts are calligraphy-inspired, and a lot of Japanese fonts are very cutesy, I guess. That's just my take. What do you think?
@@TravelinChina Actually it doesn't look scary to me, just different. Actually Japanese and Korean originally used Chinese scripts or whatever you call it in the olden days and then developed their own writing system over time and I think even to this day you sometimes can see Chinese writing in some Japanese things but I think they read it differently. Never been to Japan, except passing thru, have you?
I've been, but quite a few years ago. I remember my Korean classmates in Beijing were very quick at studying Chinese characters because they could recognise most characters already. @@cilantrolemon3542
