In the mid 90s had a 76 that did a Weber carb and header. That car kept up with most muscle cars of the time. Always knew that engine had potential. The looks from the muscle car driver as he couldn’t leave me was amazing
I had a 77 that I took the engine from my 71 and put it in. 2T-C .30 over, weber carb, Clifford header, Cannon Induction Systems cam. Ran like stink for the day. Man I miss that car..
I remember when I first moved to Hawaii (Oahu) back in the day, there were still a ton of theses Corolla's on the streets. It was the time when things were starting to change over to the more modern fuel injected cars. Closing HRP was the worst thing they could have done!! Still salty about that to this day!!
What a Beautiful Corolla!! The little 3TC that could!! Sounds like a Straight 6!!! WILD!!! These are the year Corollas I Love!! I used to see my buddy’s back in the late nineties and early nineties driving them around but I don’t think I’ve seen one on the street in NC in 20-25 years! And it’s sad! Because they are such Awesome little cars!! Probably been crushed when metal was high and they made people clean old cars out of there backyards and Fields everyone sold them all for scrap! Pennies on the dollar! 😢 But seeing people like this is a Blessing To Car Culture!!! Thanks Larry for going around the world to support and show us the Automotive Heritage And Culture Of These Beautiful Places!!!
This video got me smiling big time, I had a friend who in high school had a lime green wagon (710 Datsun), and one summer, we built the living # expletive # out of it. ✌️
Well I think he needs to come to Puerto Rico. Corolla's still the car to go of puerto ricans when it comes to drag racing and the record list can show you that.
Hawaiian style old school Toyotas & Australian style Skylines. I love seeing how different cultures so heavily gravitate toward certain platforms and make it their own.
Amazing content has always, love the Hawaii car culture has similar vibes to Puerto Rico. Hopefully you can visit PR sometime and cover the car culture here and feature the cool builds here.
Love this car! I'm keeping the 3-TC in my 74 te27! Still so much potential with this old engine! Thank you so much for showing these old school Japanese cars!! Absolutely love it 😅
Now that’s some side pipe I can get behind. That motor sounds so choice on song and at idle, hard to do. I dig the 808 scene so much, can’t wait to go back to heal my soul in the ocean and see more in person. I also miss the Oahu and Maui scene, Kam 3 for life.
First off I just wanna say thank you to Larry for coming to the Big Island of Hawaii and for getting some of our talented car builders some recognition along with their amazing rides. With that being said, I hope that you have already done a feature on that lifted, red Toyota Tacoma that’s chillin in the background of this video. Can anybody guess what kind of motor has been swapped under the hood? If you already know don’t spoil it!
Very frickin cool video. Such a nasty lil beast. I grew up learning to drive in a late 70's Corolla with a manual transmission. I loved that little brown chitbox!
Larry, love your Hawaii episodes but please do one on Maui in the near future. I'm a former Maui boi myself and car enthusiast.. Alot is going with the wildfires there and alot of cool fast cars there too. Sell some photos and merchandise for proceeds. They need help bad❤😢
Love your car man 🔥 my dad has one its his dream car we don't race it 😅 its more like a street car we have the 3T motor in it parts is a little hard to find tho greetings from aruba
