      Really Appreciate this timeline.
      I love the channel and I learn a lot from it as a poker player but I’m relatively new. Terms like “ghosting” and “RTA”, “TOS/TOC” aren’t in my vocab/understanding, especially the online playing lingo. I was wondering if in the future you guys could just define terms like that quickly for newbies like me. It would really bring the story full circle. Just a thought. Keep doing y’all’s thing! Always enjoying the content, thanks.

    GG Poker is basically an unregulated site running off some BS license. Why would anyone expect to get a fair shake on such a site? And Berkey is so overly optimistic about potential positive outcomes. There is no way anything positive comes out of this. What needs to happen is for the federal government to make online poker legal and for it to be regulated. Everything else is fairytale.

    It’s poker man, it’s a game that has systemic cheating built in live and online. In cash games the “regs” collude with each other by not tangling and going after “the fish” and in tournaments I’ve been at tables were obvious friends softplayed each other almost so overtly that it was pretty insulting….I’ve been in games where when called out on it one person says “oh no we’re friends” as if that made it acceptable regardless of the anything but a very small buy in.

    • @everythingallin4905
      @everythingallin4905 2 роки тому

      Its annoying but I don't care if friends check it down in a cash game. It's not colluding when you can buy an infinite number of chips regardless of what happens. If it were a tournament that is a different story.

    • @Nytemaster
      @Nytemaster 2 роки тому +2

      @@everythingallin4905 I think you may be missing the point. You expect each player to be at war with everyone else. If you would like poker to be like Nascar where I can expect a draft from my buddy and not get pushed into the wall for making an aggressive move because I know he will back off, then that's colluding.

    The whole ghosting thing will never be 1) solved 2) enforceable. Id take a guess that almost every single player that has ever played for a considerable amount of time has ghosted at some point. Whether it be intentionally exchanging players at critical moments, or having drinks at a mates house and the best player telling his friend what to do. In terms of the mobile poker apps etc, they are mostly a disgrace. You can still have as many accounts as you want playing the same tournament, ghosting is rife, and card sharing is rampant.

    That is not true that everyone was loosing in these games to rake and only Ali and Jake were winning. You can still find the results (profit and not cashes) of pretty much all the players on 2+2 from all Blade games while they were running on GG - later they moved to N8 and those are more difficult to find. Many big names were down huge amounts but in the same time many were up millions. Just to mention some of the biggest winners: Addamo, Koon, Greenwood, Smith, apestyles(banned for some reason), Reixach(might be banned), Schindler (might be also banned) and loosers: A Nemeth, D Peters, Malinwski, Kelepuro and even Ali (-500K). The rake was $500 (2%) for these $25Ks and there are rumours that probably most of the regs were offered a 100% RB deal for playing them anyway.

    One way I see online being able to be substantially safer would be to take it off of computers and phones. Poker entities like WSOP simply Have game cubes/PlayStation tape boxes as the only point of access. And those devices could have substantial security built into them.

Now I'm convinced the entire site is a scam. Never playing there again. No part of my hand range realises the correct amount of equity. Listen for yourselves. All three of the accused were implicitly told to keep their mouths shut by the gaming operators on the subject and to this day people are still misquoting this bit of poker history, much to their annoyance!
