We just got back from here; the wife had a lovely time shopping and I maintained sanity throughout. Pint of German Pilsner helped! Lovely site though - we’d certainly go back!
We enjoyed Chester Fair Oaks. The ladies had a great time at the shopping outlets across the road (twice!) and Joe and I had a barbecue 😃 It seems like the CAMC have covered the health crisis with belt and braces. I do hope they add in some flexibility as the crisis progresses rather than a national one size fits all. The 1pm arrival seems very reasonable too. Thanks for a very informative video Bob and Jenny 😃🚐 Trev n Sue
Thanks Bob and Jenny. Not thought of this site as it's very near to us on the Wirral. Looks a very nice site and maybe one for a short weekend away for us. Thanks for sharing.
Love the look of that on site dog walk, really wish that more CAMC sites had a nice area like that. Most cater for children with a nice play area, but often its just a small strip , or an off site walk for the dogs. They could easily put in some pipes, and mounds for interested dogs, like Poppy and our Blythe and Berry to explore and have fun on.
Hi Bob why do you have a covering on your dash board? We will be travelling to Chester later this year, we really want to visit Chester Zoo. Top notch show as usual.
A nice site which we've added to our "must go to" list. Interesting to see the Covid procedures - I wonder if they are having a different approach 'up north' - we have just spent 3 weeks across 3 different sites - 1 in the Midlands, 1 in the Cotswolds and 1 in Dorset. The toilet blocks were all cleaned at their normal times and were not recieving any extra cleaning - the laundry and washing up areas were receiving extra cleaning. The toilet block capacity had been reduced significantly but the band system was different in as such everyone was given a band and there was hooks outside the facilities - if a hook was free then you could use it. Sadly some people forgot to remove their bands from the hooks - and some went to the facilities and had forgotten their band but still went in !! On one site the facilities had been changed to being unisex. We used our own facilities except for number 2s !! However we had never used the shower in this current motorhome and found the shower pipe leaked (easy fix) and the shower cubicle door fell off when first used (not such an easy fix) so we'd recommended a full check of your on-board facilities before setting off !! Overall we felt safe on site but it did feel and seem to have a different atmosphere. Keep safe
This is closest CAMC to our storage so will be our "go to" site when we can sneak a night away on our own! Very helpful, thanks for this one folks. Mart & Jo
Hi Bob & Jenny, did all the C&MC sites automatically give you the VAT reduction assuming you booked prior to the 15th July? The C&CC don't seem to be doing this may happen to us on 14th August! Great video, thanks. Al.
Looks like a nice site, hope you had a great stay Poppy was more interested in different smells.. 👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍
We went down the M53 through the tunnel to our Detecting farm last Sunday, back again Sunday, it is right by where you were. There is lots of footpaths through the farmers land that would make a great walk for Poppy too.. You should have shown your email to them , your a paying customer and did the right thing :)At least they are taking it seriously and deep cleaning etc, i have noticed sainsburys used to clean the atm machine but not anymore, anyway sorry for rambling. I got sunburnt and the horse flys were out last Sunday crazy weather have a great time out in the freedom.
I find the wristband system very restrictive. We’ve just been to Sandringham C&MC site and there were 2 showers, 2 toilets and 2 wash cubicles available per block, but they were only letting 2 people into the block at any time. So if 2 people were having a shower, you’d have to wait for them to finish, even if you only want to use the loo.
We had a similar text for those dates from club site as you got before we arrived at Bolton Abbey, of course we thought it was for only this site? we had arrived at Southport after stopping an independant site called Langcliffe Park near Settle it had a big queue but got in later than 1pm, we arrived at Clumber Park a couple of days ago, we had added grankids while away at Southport but nothing about arriving at 1pm at site all info, arrived at Clumber Park site for just after 12 pm, all info said 12pm but wrote chalk board at entrance road said new arrivals now 1pm, went further back & parked up in clumber Park to wait, saw lots of MH & caravans going to site but not returning so went to the site at 12:30 to be in a big queue and people being booked in 🤬
Hi Bob and jenny, we are due to pick up our new elddis motor home in a couple of weeks and are first time motorhomers having caravanned for 30 years we have been watching your video blogs picking up lots of tips. Can you tell us if we can travel with the heater on in the motor home while travelling. Keep up the lovely blogs we enjoy them
We have just come away in Scotland for the first time since lockdown and we hadn't realised its 1PM. It was only because my husband phoned up this morning asking if we could pay as we thought you had to pay before arrival. She told us it was 1PM arrival. So it looks like it is everywhere, didn't see anything on the website
Looks lovely, we will be passing right by there in our new van on Tuesday as we are going to the small animal hospital in Neston for Ozzy’s cancer checkup before carrying on to Anglesey. If we happen to cross paths we will wave like a pair of nutters 👍
Another good video bob, your doing a few sites. Do you go away a few at a time then. I'm looking forward to going away in 2 weeks I might do another video. Keep it up great updates
Bob Earnshaw it should be the same as using your garmin Sat nav. It should connects to same satilites as you are using gps to connect on both devices. Perhaps something else happened when you used Google maps..
@@Schumi77 Google maps needs a phone and data signal to download its Maps, you can use it offline, but if it needs a new map, you can be lost quite quickly. We have the same satnav, it's superb. Especially when you use the app on the pc. You can look at your trip afterwards. Nice video Bob, Jenny and the star of the show Poppy
Hi Bob, I noticed a cover on your dashboard under you sat nav. Do you get a glare from the sun. We get a lot of glare on our windscreen which makes it difficult to see when driving in sunlight. Where did you get your cover from and does it stop the glare for you? Thanks.
Great videos again Bob, much appreciated... Just a quick question, looks like you have the Garmin sat nav, what bracket do you use to fasten to the dashboard?
Can I ask a really silly question regarding water? When you connect ur fresh water hose to the van and then connect the other end to the tap on the post and you turn the tap on to start filling up the tank in the van... My question is, Do you leave the tap on the post on?? so it's constantly on? or do you turn it off when the tank in the van is full? on turn it on & off to top up? Thanks🏆👍
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Ahh thank you 🙂 we've wondered that for ages haha. We're still "tenting" if there is such word. We're waiting for the right time to buy a campervan/ motorhome. Think you guys will be the first to know when we do 🙂 cheers 🙂👍
Yes, it didn't fit the old one, I used the tablet holder on the dashboard for a while and a viewer suggested this one from Garmin and it's been very good.
Not yet, the Caravan & Motorhome Club sell the plastic sign part, but I needed to add the wood. I haven't fixed it yet, need a drill. Glyn's given me a new bit of wood.
Just been to this site so watched this before we went. Beautiful site and 2 of the friendliest wardens we've come across 😀
We just got back from here; the wife had a lovely time shopping and I maintained sanity throughout. Pint of German Pilsner helped! Lovely site though - we’d certainly go back!
Great video. We arrived at Blackpool South CAMC today at 12.30, nothing was said about 1pm arrival time. Keep safe🙂Mark & Coral

Love that site, it's a bit close to all the shops for me!
And for me too!
Thanks for sharing these experience with us. One question is why don't you use google maps for navigating? You get live update on que etc etc.

Have you stayed at Thurstaston caravan park on the coast line on the Wirral it’s just down the road for you
Yes, a few years back, wasn't that keen on it. Maybe it's improved.
Bob Earnshaw not sure only sen it from the roadside seems popular lots on the doorstep
Guess your the one getting the fish and chips bob. Lol.xxx

Hi Mr Earnshaw where did you get your sat nav from
The links are in the description of this video ua-cam.com/video/ezuzf1Ycc6I/v-deo.html
1 o clock seems late missing most of the day not fair I dont think
It's fair when you see the extra sanitising they have to do.

just a quick text , to ask , have you fixed , your . Sign !!! ( i am on this pitch .)) ??? . Did you make it or buy them ...???

So its a good job , you have not got the car with you , then .
£65 for two nights !!!!! Must be better value at a Premier Inn .
Can't park my Motorhome in a Premiere Inn! Give a campsite any day over those soulless places. £145 for two nights at the Premiere Inn at Chester BRW.
Yawn 🥱
Thanks for the feedback!
