- This is the basics of install this intake kit. You see it as we saw it. There is no dry runs or making it look easy. These kits are price set at 350 dollars no matter where you buy it from.
Yo Mr. Black,
You always buy the coolest stuff.
I like these long videos, especially when Isaac is helping.
I always thought that sucking noise when you shut the engine off is residual vacuum in the manifold equalizing with atmospheric pressure. I think every car does that.

That makes sense. I can't say I've ever noticed it before quite that obvious.

It's because your motor is so B-B-B-B-BIG.
lol
I need that Jeep... Thinking of a jeep from time to time ( box one ) you know my budget * brown paper bagging *.... Wait? Those directions where very vivid lol... They normally have you figure it ALLLLLL out.. Thats pretty good.. i like how it looks great sound to suck we can not rev underneath the hood like the olde times
Trust me brother, I may not have a way show it, but I can totally relate to brown paper bagging it. did that for 25 years due to a lot of not the best adult decisions in our younger years. It's taken years to climb out.
Nice work. It certainly looks a lot more aggressive than that factory box
She makes a roar now when you floor it hahaha. Only with the window down though. This thing is super posh inside and very quiet.
Hello, nice video. I have Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X with 5.7 HEMI which equipped with SRT hood, when I did research for cold intake some people complained about problems when it rains outside water come exactly on the open air filter during holes in the hood. What about this problem? Thanks
This is something that concerned my on installation as well. With the JLT kit the filter is almost 8 to 10 inches behind the hood vend and nearly all of the hood vent is on the opposite side of the heat shield for the filter. I am going to drive this thing for the first time in the rain this morning. I'll report back.
@@PNW_Car_Mods Thanks for reply, I will wait update from you.
@@ssmartik test run in the rain video will be up shortly lol.
How much more Hp it give you?
If I had to guess less than 5hp. Factory airboxes really are not very restrictive anymore on just about any car. This really is a just for fun kind of mod and maybe a little more sound.
NICE is that the Dry or oiled filter from JLT? how you liking it so far ? Getting ready to buy me this soon THANKS!
Oiled filter. Great kit. Would definitely recommend it.
@@PNW_Car_Mods THANKS!
@@PNW_Car_Mods Whre did you buy it from their website?
@@gjamin7 Yes. It seems they are very strict on pricing through vendors and the price is the same everywhere so I figured I'd just buy it direct. No problems and they ship fast.
Hey great video, looks awesome under the hood! Quick question, would you be willing to sell the factory tube that connects the throttle body to the air box? I bought my gf a 392 intake manifold for her 5.7 grand Cherokee and we need that tube. Please let me know, thanks
I have to politely Decline Brandon. Anytime we trade something like this in I always put them back to stock. I wouldn't be surprised if you can find one on ebay.
No problem, that’s completely understandable. Thank you for the reply!
I've been looking at those 6.4liters a lot lately. UA-cam keeps showing me videos of them at the strip.... that and the TT 3.5L explorers. 🤣
I think I've seen all those same videos lol
Some reason I've been getting Maverick videos also.
@@obadiahsmith2345 I've noticed that a lot of videos being recommended to me are 1 to 10 years old lol.
@@PNW_Car_Mods 9 years seems pretty common
stupid youtube. I can see your comment on the rain water video only in my email. Not in the video or in the comments section of youtube studio. Dumb thing. If I hit reply in my email it opens the video and your comment is nowhere to be found. Anyways, you are correct, I think the Jeep SRT grand cherokee might have the coolest factory heat extractor hood ever!
Any check engine light problems after install?
Negative. All is well so far. About 1k miles in.
Well....if it’s pre 2016 build Hemi your likely got bad lifter roller and 1 cylinder not decompressing fully or quickly due to reduced valve lift from worn down cam lobe. Trust me, you won’t know until drivability suffers.
2017 here. It's a dodge pretty much everything is run her till she blows lol. Thanks for the info Index. I've heard the 6.4s can have some cam/lifter problems but I've never really looked into it.
I put this in my jeep srt.
Hopefully it's working well for you? We've had no problems with this kit.
