They had no wax on the lane and it was probably a rubber Boling ball. We used to play with those in PE as a kid and it acts nothing like a bowling ball at the lanes. That's probably why we saw some crazy throws in the sketch.
This sketch was original, silly, and built on the premise in a hilarious way. Felt like the audience reaction was a bit weak but it plays well on UA-cam!
This has been a meme much longer than the corridor crew video, Outrageous bowling alley video animations. A famous one had school shooting where the shooter passed by one person for 'spare'. There's a subreddit dedicated to it. I think having a skit based off a meme archetype/template is fine since they wrote their own jokes and did it live. I'm sure if they got asked about it, they'd give credit to the meme and not act like they made it up themselves.
This almost feels like an early 90’s sketch. Writers nailed it. And Colin Jost and Michael Che always do a good job with Weekend Update too by the way.
The funniest skit of the night. Each punchline was what they scored! Have not been to a bowling alley lately but this would be a pleasant addition to the action! I liked Split, Strike 9 and Stuck Bal, 9 and Foot on the Line!
Hilarious sketch! The ASL interpreter took it to a higher level. Talk about attention to detail! Never heard of Jacob Elordi, though. Looked him up. Thought that he was going to be a sports figure that I hadn't heard of. Was surprised to see that he's an actor. Live TV can be tough if you're not used to it, I guess.
It's a funny sketch, but a lot of these are pretty similar to the Corridor Digital bowling pin animations that went viral. These are tamer, but still...
As a professional sign language interpreter with twenty years of experience, I have to say that the third bowling pin is actually signing the speaker's words pretty much word for word. I am impressed!
My love for Chole just continue to grow with each skit. Perfectly delivered. She's just a gem. You all are slowly figuring out how to incorporate her into the show more and I think her being the only one to receive claps is indication that it's working. I see a young Kate McKinnon in the making.
Man, this has to be one of the most funniest sketches of the night! The funniest part was when they did the stuck ball joke. I nearly *DIED* and came back to life *TWICE* when I heard that line! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
In related news, Kingpin is back in rotation on HBO. Comedy Masterpiece (And one of few sketches where they're not just drooling over Elordi. Equally amazing!) ❤❤❤❤
FYI for inevitable 'stolen idea!' commenters - offensive bowling alley animations had been a meme for years before Corridor Crew did it on YT. The subreddit (forum) r/bowlingalleyscreens started in 2019 whereas CC's video was 2021. They weren't as popular since there's truly messed up ones, 'don't come to school tmrw' note from a mass shooter for SPARE, plus plenty of aggressively sexual ones. So yes it's an existing meme archetype/joke setup, but SNL wrote their own jokes for it and did it live which is pretty different from animation. It was funny and I think we should celebrate this kinda thing moving forward - it could even be a recurring skit. I'm sure the writers would credit the meme if asked
Props to the interpreter for managing to SOMEHOW sign everything clearly and correctly with only 8 fingers and gloves the size of beachballs
Exactly what I was thinking - how did she sign so well with the gloves!!!
thank you!!@@maryheer1068 & @27DJMA I appreciate the support and kudos 😁🤟
Lmao that was so impressive
It’s not asl it’s gibberish
@@charlottedrew9714 I've been fluent for 25 years. It's "muffled" because of the gloves, but it's clearly ASL.
I love how the prop bowling balls are so light that you can hear them literally bouncing down the lane 😂
I didn't hear them, but I could definitely tell they weren't real bowling balls by the way they moved.
So you "love that"? Seriously? Its sketch comedy. Why would you even focus on that. What a weird and dumb comment.
Jacob whipped those balls down the lane at 100mph
They had no wax on the lane and it was probably a rubber Boling ball. We used to play with those in PE as a kid and it acts nothing like a bowling ball at the lanes. That's probably why we saw some crazy throws in the sketch.
Starting to think those dancing pins weren't real either...
"Maybe next time you'll support your union brothers when we go on strike!" My favorite line of the night 👏☝️
Are those WGA strike picket signs left over from last year, or do they just have them in case a strike happens?
Always support your union bros! 🍻
Ah yes - there were some great opportunities for pins smashing it other during a 'peaceful' strike. :D
2024, Year of the Strike!
Love that they got an actual ASL interpreter for this.
I know!! It was so cool!
It’s utter gibberish btw
An actual ASL interpreter? That was someone pretending to sign. it wasnt "an actual ASL interpreter" at all.
@@davidballeh8978 It’s not. I know ASL. 🤦🏻♂️
@@avidadolares Are you stupid? I know ASL. And she is signing.
“which brings the number of total victims so far to- NINE” 😂

I liked that one too! Especially the pin doing sign language 😂
It sounds like the animations in the bowling alley were your favorite part of the sketch. Mine too!
I like that Heidi gets type cast in these sketches as the girl who dates every host
I think that might be her idea.
Lol so she's for the hosts ☠️
If I was an SNL cast member I would also write myself as the girlfriend of every host
Bill Burr talked about when he hosted, and how he couldn't believe how talented she is.
Heidi Heidi Heidi...
The sheer fact the prop department took the time 2:50 to create an extra large police cap for the pin is hilarious along with the great skit 😂
@HustonSingletary I know, right?! 👮
And the grey mustache for the police chief was so extra and so perfect
I know that actor wearing the police cap. He owes me money, It's not easy being a struggling actor.
@@virginiathornton: That was no prop, that actor Jerard Washington's grey mustache is real.
Thank you I was the police office lol
“I don’t want to find you with a needle in your arm, slumped over living in the gah damn. . . GUTTER” that brought tears to my eyes 😂
I was a little surprised - one can say "god-damned" on late night TV, but not "fuck"?
Well, at least it would be better than living in a van down by the river.
the interpreter is so real for this
It was a real interpreter
OMG… I was crying when I saw the interpreter.. 😂 So funny 😂

Then back to 'Eldordi as sex object' sketches lol
stolen from Corridor Digital
Stolen concept
The sign language interpreter pin had me dead I couldn’t stop laughing 😂
Same 😭
I'm not convinced either of them has bowled before, which makes the sketch even funnier.
Heidi born and raised in KC, big Royals and Chiefs fan. 100% has bowled. Midwest requirement.
The interpreter bowling pin interpreter was actually using sign language, believe it or not. I recognized plenty of signs. Like dead and others.
Favorite skit in a while. laughing out load the whole time. great job everyone. the translator pin was the icing on the cake
Yep, I was skeptical at first because this seemed silly as hell and the first two (6 and Spare) were kind of boring, but then it got hilarious!
@@MatthewTheWandererI agree. This is funny
yeah the ASL interpreting was pretty accurate too it was great 😭

theres something so funny with how serious jacob elordi did their throws
The interpreter made me so happy! Took that to the next level lol
I'm hella impressed at the ASL interpreter with 4 finger gloves.
Someone at SNL watched the corridor crew video. They actually animated offensive bowling alley clips. It's funny to have them talk though.
Yeah the fact they copied the concept is kinda sketchy
@@absurdartist6346 not too recently there was a sketch that copied Joel Haver as well.

Mood balls.

Omg. The ASL pin. 😂😂
Whoever came up with this concept is a genius.

I've bowled like five times in my entire life. If these bowling videos actually existed, I'd be forming my own league as a regular at the local lanes.
The pin's police cap in the "9" video is perfect.
hahahaha thank you i was the police officer
The talking bowling pins made it so hilarious! 🤣
Yeah that's the whole bit?
it was the all the jokes that made it hilarious for me 🤭
The bowling, the clips, the ASL interpreter… all accurate 😂
This is hilarious! The cast worked so well together on this. Best sketch in the show. 😂

This isn't 'Nam Smokey. This is bowling. There are rules.
I think they just did that to screw with him.
Unless the line was invisible. Obviously lying. He didn't have his foot over that line.
