Well at least there's interest in it, unlike Lego land and I didn't notice any empty seats on your annual capitulation in our city of Manchester, hope you picked up some souvenirs.
You get your Merch.. not on line but from the even bigger store that was there previously by walking clockwise for five minutes. Ready in 12 months?.. nope, it’s a 3 year build. There may be seats installed for the end of the 24/25 season but the fitting out of everything in the stands and hotel etc won’t be ready until we’ll into 2026. Coop arena has 23500 seats. Yes, the tram station is next door and there is parking for 6k cars.. but the test will be when there’s a gig on the same time as the football. 😮
The ao has one massive advantage over the co op which will never change, its central to all the bars and cafes and most importantly you can leave there at 10.50pm and catch a train home, with the new arena you will almost certainly miss your last train home regardless if it has its own station, you would still not have travel time to victoria. The only other option is to drive which means no drinking or an expensive hotel. Had many great days out watching rock bands at the arena in town over the years, cant see that happening at the new arena because its so isolated. I would also think any purpose built bars and cafes in the area will charge gigantic prices for food and drink just like they do inside the venue, I doubt I will be attending there.
I assume once the Etihad expansion is complete they will open up the fan zone on event nights which should include restaurants / bars, you’re right though it certainly isn’t as central as town although personally I hate going into town it seems to be a magnet for the lowest of the low.
Honestly why they expanding it they can’t sell out is it so they can put the empty seats through the book 😂😂😂 there embarrassing. They won the European cup never seen goormless looking fans who couldn’t create abit of atmosphere like a big club should. Utd are the real club in that city at least when they play in finals they has something about them with atmosphere
Looks cheap like those after market accessories we add in cars. This expansion doesn't flow naturally with the stadium design. I might be wrong though. Let's see how it looks after all work is done.
Get ready for 115 million spent on it ...then they'll sell a stand to themselves for another 115 million and then send Pgmol and Var another 115 million
Thanks for the update! 🙂
Mcr Mayfield Station is the third venue, capacity 10,000. Used for the Warehouse Project music, etc.
