However, Octavian being Augustus is basically HIM and not only overcomes Mark Antony and Cleopatra but also Bayek and Amunet, forcing a retreat and evacuation of almost all Bayek and Amunet's allies save a few. However, Amunet does kind of plant the seeds in which Augustus from his own assassination and will more or less find the one who is the ancestor of Caligula's Assassin's. Assassin's Creed Civilizations: Bayek and most of his allies escape to the Levant, integrating with the culture while building and recruiting more Hidden Ones not because to take the fight to Rome, but to rather build an everlasting community of future Assassins that the Templars would face centuries later. Stakes are high as the Romans turn their occupation ambitions toward the Levant and its only matter of time befire they catch wind of Bayek's plans. Eventually, they reach of what will be Masyaf and settle their not just as a base of operations bureau to attack but also like Homestead where people live, prosper and grow beyond fighting. There, Bayek overlooks such peace and passes peacefully surrounded by those he cares about, while Amunet also passes separately in Rome, facing much less optimistic prospects. Esiocles and Kawab then become playable in their place, as Esiocles eventually venture back to Rome and starts a family while still being a Hidden One, becoming the mentor of the Roman Bureau. Kawab takes over the Levant bureau, leading a mission to assassinate King Herod.

Unrelated, I would like the schizophrenic existence of 'Animus Hacks' to be incorporated as a proper feature. Prey (2017) had neuro mods, unlock tokens that opened new alien super powers but at the cost of lore and difficulty changes as the computer systems wouldn't see you as human. I want something like that with animus super powers like Xray vision, Tanky health bars, invisibility Cloak and Teleport. Have some sort of 'Animus Sequence Break tokens' that let you "Brute Force Solutions to memory sequencing" as some hacker character will tell you. We actually had something like this unofficially in the Tyranny of king Washington DLC where you trade health/sync bar as a mana source to do the super powers. purposefully hurting yourself in a risk reward way. Have it where to get the 'authentic' good ending you have to play without using the hacks, sticking to stealth & gadget play. That way the puritans like myself who like to play historically, no Xray vision, No teleport. can feel validated as we are playing the 100% memory sequencing way and people who like the super powers have inbuilt lore friendly way to explain these 4th wall breaking moves. Kind of like the neuro mods, repeated abuse of animus hacks will result in the "Simulation getting corrupted." As enemy types get turned into Ahistorical harder variants. Archers become snipers, Guards become ironclad knights. The more you cheat to make the game easy the harder the game cheats back to make it harder again. Would offer a bunch of replay value too. One playthrough is like a historic setting version of prototype and the other is a historic setting version of splinter cell.
I love how you did bring up basim. Becouse the way how people felt in 2017/2018 is literarly how i myself feel about Basim right now. His story even if not so interesting really, i dont like Loki parts of him... I like the character and i think he would be a really interesting modern day protagonist who should be a major player in the following modern day segments of the new games. But knowing ubisoft they will probably fumble it again by forgeting him as a character just like Connor, Edward, Arno and Bayek. All protagonist who really had awsome potential for the sequels for their games. Tbh would be cool if for some reason Basim decides he needs to research Bayeks life further down the line to get some artifact which he could come have come across later in his life.
But on the other hand... We gotta remember its ubisoft, just like with Bayek i think that they struck lightning in the bottle with ac origins in general. Odyssey and Valhala are so much more shallow in comparison, slop games. Origins is awsome on all aspects(other then parkour), awsome character, fenomenal worldbuilding, awsome settings, engaging side quests(especialy chain ones which build up to the bigger story, even if some of em where cut of before the final ark mission, like the one in letopolis, or the one regarding Sefetu)Origins was on the quality of ghost of Tsushima really... And it leads me to the point, that ubisoft would not have been able to bring a good sequel to origins, especialy as their next two tittles are fumbles and downgrades in all aspects compared to origins.
AC Origins is my favorite AC game yes even with it's flaws is still a banger of a game 🔝 For me Bayek is Definitely in the top 5 gaming protagonists 🔝💯 It is such a miss opportunity that Ubisoft didn't make a sequel
Characters are important for an IP, and more than people give them credit for in this generation of media that is hellbent on destroying legacy characters. The biggest reason why AC Nexus sold was because of the three already established protagonists, Ezio, Kassandra and Connor. The reason why Resident Evil is still strong these days is because of the popularity of its characters, even more so than because of the gameplay. At the time there were plenty of surviving horror games with fixed cameras and similar gameplay mechanics, but none of them had the uniqueness in their characters that RE had, to why they've become so iconic and beloved throughout the years. The success of the recent remakes is prove of how much fans love these characters and enjoy playing as them, to why Capcom is focusing on riviving more of their old IPs like Onimusha and so on. On the other hand, that is why PlayStation is in such a precarious position as of now, because they've systematically killed or retired all of their beloved protagonists in favor of less developed, less popular and at times more niche characters. Now, this is not to say that new things shouldn't be developed. I'm all in for new things and at times I prefer them to having these developers milk an old thing to its last drop, but legacy characters should also be preserved and respected, because at times they are what will carry a franchise forward for longer periods of time.
I replayed the game recently. Man, I forgot how utterly amazing it was. It’s unfortunate it came out the same year as BOTW because it really deserved more praise than it got in a year filled with amazing games
I loved Origins to death, didn't think i would enjoy an assassins creed game that much after the Ezio trilogy. I Would love a game in Rome with Aya, showing her how she builds up the roman brotherhood. I 100% agree, Bayek should have had an Sequel, there was The Hidden Ones DLC (that i also enjoyed) that showed the hidden one some time after the end of Origins, but i really think it wasn't enough.
I really think an Edward sequel would have been dumb given that his story after blackflag was mostly him raising his children and dying from 3 soldiers
@spenvaThat happened in a short of time and Haytham was barely a teenager when Edward was killed. Trust me, that game will be shorter than Red Dead Redemption 1. 1.
@spenva He did not create english brotherhood. Hytham in Valhalla did. As for Edward, his life wasn't that simple there is a comic series on webtoon which is a sequel to Black Flag. I recommend reading it, Edward is on an expedition to East Asia to find a set of artifacts. It's called Assassin's Creed Forgotten Temple.
@@RaRmAn yea just searched it up now he didn't create the english brotherhood he just lead it for a certain amount of time. also thanks for the recommendation i will be sure to check it out!
Bayek of Siwa was indeed a great protagonist, the best to come along since Ezio & they definitely could've given him & Aya a trilogy. They could have made both characters the protagonist of a second game set in Italia/Roma so that we could see the Roman heartlands from both perspectives, Bayek's being that of a newcomer & Aya's being one of more familiarity & understanding (considering she's been there for some years by the time of the Origins dlcs) & the third & final game could have taken them to Greece as you mentioned, therefore eliminating the need for Odyssey which is hands down the worst title in the franchise (at least until Shadows comes out lol). Long story short, Ubisoft had as you put it, lightning in a bottle with Origins & moving on from that story so quickly when there was still so much more to tell was a huge mistake. They could of course try & salvage the situation by revisiting Origins but the likelihood of that happening is pretty much zero, if not even less than that considering the state of Ubisoft these days, they're imploding & are about to go bankrupt (which is their own fault) & their assets like Assassin's Creed are almost certainly going to be sold off. The end of Ubisoft is ultimately a good thing in my opinion, as maybe the AC franchise will end up in more caring hands, though said hands will likely be Chinese unfortunately.
They dropped the ball with the modern day and that's why jumping settings fails (imo). So I'm going to try to run through a (hopefully) brief explanation of what could've been done with the decisions they made within the games that I think would tie it together better. Ofc one thing that I think would have been required is improvements and deeper complexities in the gameplay of the modern day, rather than the regressions that culminated in the shack with basically nothing going on in Valhalla. To me, the modern day is unequivocally the biggest missed opportunity in AC and there is no greater example than the fact the majority of players (that I've spoken with) not only do not care about it, but consider it an unwelcome interruption of the gameplay/story when it should be the greater narrative that brings intrigue and enhances the anticipation for the next entry. Each "arch" should have it's own Desmond. In Black Flag, we are introduced to a seemingly useless character who almost stumbles into the conflict between Abstergo and the Assassins. By the end of the game, the character should be named but I don't think they should directly choose a side. We stick with this character through Syndicate, and this character would have been working as a sort of informant for the Assassins as they slowly ascend the corporate ladder in Abstergo. Modern day missions are full of espionage and take on a sort of non-lethal Watchdogs stealth as I don't think this character would ever encounter the bleeding effect. Around say halfway through the modern day plot of AC Syndicate you start hearing mentions of Layla, who this character eventually meets and does or says something to sow seeds in Layla's mind to investigate or oppose Abstergo herself (though not a direct impact). Or maybe she's introduced as an intern or smth in Rogue or Unity and has some minor connection to this modern day protagonist (I kinda like that better maybe?). By this point I would hope the character has been developed to the point players are attached to them, making the final act of the modern day their being found out as a mole in Abstergo (something I'd like to have built up slowly with close calls, investigations, etc through previous games) and their end being either ambiguous and leading them into hiding, or their outright capture. Layla now has reason to become the new protagonist. With her suspicions ever growing after the disappearance of the prior protagonist, she becomes secretive with her research into ancient Egypt and Bayek. Over the course of Origins she may have her suspicions about Abstergo's involvement in the disappearance of her mentor (prior modern day protagonist). In Odyssey she learns more about the Assassins and comes to join them as she seeks justice or truth in the disappearance, and discovers something far more grand in the Isu beneath Greece. Through a fascination with Isu as well as personal investment in the success of the Assassins, she comes to England and is drawn to Yggdrasil, bringing back Basim/Loki. With Basim there is a lot that can be done, he can play either a fascinating hero or a spectacular antagonist who molds the Assassins into something to serve his own interests (particularly with him inheriting some aspect or will of an Isu). Regardless, he would be disappointed with the modern Brotherhood and would train/reform them into true modern day Hidden Ones, opening up modern day assassin contracts/infiltrations into Abstergo and a much more involved modern day storyline. This can also sow a division within the Assassins as some oppose Basim's reformations or a faction sees him as skewing the purpose of the Assassins, again maybe seeing him more self interested than suited to the cause. Mirage serving possibly more as Basim going into his own memories to retrain his body through the bleeding effect after centuries of stagnation in Yggdrasil. And that's all I got loosely off the top of my head. Not remotely as brief as I intended, but I hope it gets across what I'm talking about well Actually one more thing (edit ig?): I WOULD like the idea of having a sort of "Animus Hub" or something if it plays into the idea of Basim sort of imposing himself as a new mentor to the Brotherhood or with him founding his own faction. I think it could open up a lot of opportunities to expand the modern day storyline into its own vision with broader and deeper narrative unconstrained and using Basim as a focal point for a new upheaval in the Assassin/Templar conflict. I don't really trust Ubisoft to do that, but I think that would be one of the better ways to go about it. Again, particularly with Basim inheriting the Isu version of "Loki" in some way it provides an excellent opportunity to introduce a new Isu plot to underscore and influence the rest of the story.
I love Bayek, he deserves a trilogy maybe Ubisoft bordeaux will make a Bayek trilogy. Hopefully AC shadows will be polished I hope to god I don’t want to see another buggy game like AC Unity.

Nah, Aya is boring AF, Bayek deserved another game.
Aya is boring af because they gave all of her characterization to Bayek.
Tbh, Bayek should be a lot like Hepzefa and Hepzefa shouldn’t exist (Bayek was supposed to be the last and only Medjay). I love Bayek but Amunet was hinted at since AC2. Bayek was basically an OC (just a really good one)
@@Detroit48228Or gove them both the spotlight and show two playable characters in a game could work, if they are great enough.
As opposed to playing an underutilized Assassin sister being held back by her useless obnoxious brother
Rage + Love = GOAT
Always
And it leads me to the point, that ubisoft would not have been able to bring a good sequel to origins, especialy as their next two tittles are fumbles and downgrades in all aspects compared to origins.
i love basim man
AC Origins is my favorite AC game yes even with it's flaws is still a banger of a game 🔝
For me Bayek is Definitely in the top 5 gaming protagonists 🔝💯
It is such a miss opportunity that Ubisoft didn't make a sequel
Its in my top games too
He is one of the better written protagnists in the series. Too bad we only got one game with him.
Love him
Characters are important for an IP, and more than people give them credit for in this generation of media that is hellbent on destroying legacy characters.
I'm all in for new things and at times I prefer them to having these developers milk an old thing to its last drop, but legacy characters should also be preserved and respected, because at times they are what will carry a franchise forward for longer periods of time.
characters first always
I replayed the game recently. Man, I forgot how utterly amazing it was. It’s unfortunate it came out the same year as BOTW because it really deserved more praise than it got in a year filled with amazing games
Yeah man it's a shame
I loved Origins to death, didn't think i would enjoy an assassins creed game that much after the Ezio trilogy. I Would love a game in Rome with Aya, showing her how she builds up the roman brotherhood. I 100% agree, Bayek should have had an Sequel, there was The Hidden Ones DLC (that i also enjoyed) that showed the hidden one some time after the end of Origins, but i really think it wasn't enough.
I really think an Edward sequel would have been dumb given that his story after blackflag was mostly him raising his children and dying from 3 soldiers
him creating the english brotherhood would be sick to play no?
@spenvaThat happened in a short of time and Haytham was barely a teenager when Edward was killed.
Trust me, that game will be shorter than Red Dead Redemption 1. 1.
@@memecliparchives2254 yea in retrospect it would be around the same length as mirage. would be unfulfilling to Edward.
Not remotely as brief as I intended, but I hope it gets across what I'm talking about well
Actually one more thing (edit ig?): I WOULD like the idea of having a sort of "Animus Hub" or something if it plays into the idea of Basim sort of imposing himself as a new mentor to the Brotherhood or with him founding his own faction. Again, particularly with Basim inheriting the Isu version of "Loki" in some way it provides an excellent opportunity to introduce a new Isu plot to underscore and influence the rest of the story.
ezio will probably stay as the poster boy cause their is only 2 trilogies in the entire series, ezio trilogy and the kenway trilogy
Bayek and Origins are my favorite. First time I did the leap of faith backwords i lost my sh*t! Assassin's jesus!!
it was too cool
Can't find something to add to the video so just commenting for the algorithm.
odyssey and valhalla should’ve without a doubt been a bayek and aya trilogy. also abi bukar salim is the best voice actor in all of ac
He is by far the
UBI GIVE US A FULL STANDALONE AYA OR ANOTHER BAYEK GAME PLSS 😭 Or hell, why not both (Maybe one day)
I love Bayek, he deserves a trilogy maybe Ubisoft bordeaux will make a Bayek trilogy. Hopefully AC shadows will be polished I hope to god I don’t want to see another buggy game like AC Unity.
That would be extremely cool
if they made this a sequel Ubisoft would maybe saved
i think so too
I'd preferred Aya as the main protagonist instead of Bayek. His whole character looks so contradicting to me.
edit: Kinda like Evie and Jacob.
she would be sick for a sequel
The game started off good but the story fell apart towards the end
it was a bit rushed
Me again. So far no results in from Ubisoft
this guy is always servin up the worst takes im subscribing
Ezio is mid compared
i mean lets not go that far
I don't know..
That Alien Platypus video really effect my views on this "inconsistent" character.
Bayek says he's not a grave robber yet still raids pyramids.
need to watch that video
This whole game is mid. To me.
damn...
@TheSpaniardAssassin To me: It's just running sim.
