One of the most epic times to be alive. So raw, so original.
We need our culture to shift back to this
God yeah
Agree 👊
80s will never be matched by this boring generation
Legend classic song old school music my favorite song
Those red K Swiss ol school suits were nice👌 ! The PONY suits were FRESH also!!
Memories of better times. People in the moment, present with eachother there in one spot, not holding phones up recording like robots.
Word up!!
THIS...
You're so right...
Bring back the 80's man...
I'm 58 years old now! When this song came out back in the 1980's, this song was BANGING all over! I always love this song. I wonder if the younger generation now, have ever dropped their moves to this track?
The younger generation don’t even talk to each other let alone get their electric boogie on!
Just love that 8 Track recording with a maximum 3 second sampling capability
@@jacobcrumb3323 Digital delays were used to sample before sampling
machines were produced, reversing tech back in the day. lol
Most of the younger generation don't have any moves to drop. 😂😂
Yup yup, it's a multibillion-dollar business, with millions of practitioners, sponsors, etc. - so popular it's now going to be an Olympic sport in 2024.
from spain : heeey 50 years old and still can spin on my back!!!!
I wish I would've grown up there. To bad I was born in the south Bronx and split to TX back in 81. I would have been a KING. PAINTING or a BBOY. It's in my heart. I Love N.Y.!!!
Yeah definitely. I grew up in DFW during the mid 80s and 90s. NYC had so much more culture back then where things originated from. We didn't have shit in DFW
I remember takein out the cardboard box laying it out in the driveway and breakin with my friends in the 80s.
we had a six by six roll of kitchen floor linoleum that we used to roll up and take around with us. Much better for slipping around on.
Sounds like fun lol
thisis the real Breakin / Poppin not the gymnastic garbage of today
Talented and gifted dancers. Phenom. I’m so glad I saw breakdancers live in the eighties.
Miss the real days. Back in Jersey City.
They need to bring those jumpers back out
Go to Montgomery wards on jc pennny or when in L.A
The garment district the tru holyest of holy grail of fashion.
Where did all of this go?... So sad that great things disappear.
Those were the good old days. Now, sadly there are guns
No one did it better then crazy legs, freeze and Ken swift
Crazy legs Eddie and his gurl og smurfette .boy the still around
Amaizing performens.simole the Best 2022.better then now.
Love the dance crews.
Miss those days back in the 80s in the bronx new york man my time my era a lot of this generation don't know this was part of hip hop rap n culture were it was big I know it started in the 70S but it hit big on the 80s for what I remember it was underground in the 70s no rap music yet on radio only Disco then my generation was saying disco is dead but I like disco now I'm older now so I hear it different
then it took uk by storm glad I was part of this era.going to diffrent cities to challenge other crews in shopping centres.my fellow dancer they were the days God I miss them simple times
I still envision all the trains covered in graffiti. The city was colorful! Precious times!
I love hip hop
Best era of hip hop fashion 👌 kangols n adidas outfits ah miss those dayz
No no this was not hip hop come on yall don't be quote if u don't actually no
Juzz saying
memories of our dance crew,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,The Best Years
I remember the days when every mall you went to breakdancers would face off to each other and the big ghetto blasters, tapes with mixed songs and a roll of vinyl mat
Oh, this brings back memories of our dance crew in high school. I was the windmill, swipes, head spin and hand spin specialist. Another was robot/ pop-locking. Those were the days.
This music sounds so much better when watching breakdancing.
Well, it's just a breakloop followed by scratching and some other records on the table with vocals/doubling
The best thing about being Gen-X is that everything from my youth sucked, but it was new, so it's heralded as the GOAT LOL.
Hellz yeah miss these days.
Those were the days
NEVER SEEN THIS 1 BEFORE. 84 WAS A GREAT YEAR. WE WERE B-BOYING AND POPPIN BEFORE THE MOVIES CAME OUT. LOCO ALBUQUERQUE N.M 🙏
Damn wood kill for all those people tracksuits 💯 pure 🔥🔥🔥😎
THAT WAS THE REAL NYC
gracias por subir etse tema tron
Those were the days.
It’s amazing to see how it started and now what these people are capable of nobody could have imagined the things these people are doing however there more gymnastic then dance this has soul.

Era before gravity was defeated!!!
heureusement que j ai connu cette bonne chanson breakdance et d autres entre la Funk La Disco le Rap et la House of Chicago les années 80 c était pleins de styles different mais bon en musique pour les jeunes et avec le recul les meilleures années pour moi !
This was the black urban version of punk. Do it yourself attitudes. They created the scene themselves. Record companies were confused, they created their own style of street fashion, their own dance routines and moves. It was fresh and exciting and original. And it was fun!!
Old school from when I was a dancer myself. These moves you don't even see that much these days.
Honestly u probably never will cause hip hop is dead as door knob
B-Boying is bigger than ever, you see it plenty, just not as a mainstream dance.
same here, today they seem to use way to many gymnastic moves.not proper in my book.
🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️.........Electric boogie
J'avais 13ans a l'époque et je dansais comme un pied

The Essence
The good old days
This is a jam. I am surprised I haven't heard any modern musicians sample parts of this song. If so, I need to check them out.
before crack came out, this is how gangs settled their beef.
I grew up with it in Paris i was 10 and i've learned back spin at the time at : " La tour MontParnasse " Hip hop is in my blood still the death long live to Hip hop...
fresh
Good Times!!
old school rocks, i don't know what's going on with hip hop these days. i just understand i'm rich, i'm beautiful, in the name of jesus.
Todays hip hop lacks flavour.
Don't get me wrong it's good and amazing skills. But, just hasn't got soul.
The cardboard, the tracksuits, the crowd, the music....80's.
What started out as innocent innovations made many guys who played in small venues in New York to California into billionaire business men of today. This is the genius of blacks who took lemons and made lemonade and along the way created an industry that made so many rich in the process
Nice
Yes, great time!!!!
From Moscow, mike Morgul 45yo
The first break dancers U saw was The Rock Steady Crew
Yup that was me
All remember the real Electric boogie master's were my pops crew out of Los Angeles EBM...they were the shitt 🔥 👌 💯 real poplockers and breakers those were my pops oldskool days...
While I just missed these times, I was really young back then. My time was the 1990's and you better believe when breaking came back in the late 1990's-early-2000's I was all about it. I was popping and locking all over the underground rave scene in Miami, Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. I was damn good... One thing is for sure, things aren't like this anymore.
Kid's today are an absolute bore fest. If they're not watching and trying to emulate idiocy on Tik Tok they're pitching a bitch about politics. What kind of a life is that? Well...whatever, we Gen X'ers knew how to do it right. Case in point- this awesome music video brought to you by Generation X.
SO DOPE!!!
Remenber.my linolio cartón.put on flor.1984.break dance.in tga.honduras kennedy.amaizing time.
Caramba dancei muito isso anos 80
I love 80s and 90s hip hop and rap, and at primary school in our assembly hall as small kids Hey You by the Rock Steady Crew was in the chart, and some of the boys and me (no other girls would try) tried to emulate the breakdance moves on the slippery parqueted floor, and we were rubbish and looked like turtles on our backs lol legs akimbo and flailing! I was way better at robot dancing and body popping.
Brings back those slippery hall memories! Great stuff and to see teens in the vid doing it properly.

This was the only time in history when it was excepatable for a man to wear a tracksuit.
Cool video BUT the East Coast was so much better at ground work while the West was better at Pop Locking..I lived on both coast in the 80s and saw that for myself..
We saw a few puertorocks come thru from the peace corps chose that instead of military or juevie NY transplants we called em
