Vilgard is a completely new form of transportation. It is neither automobile, nor bicycle; it is new because it is somewhere inbetween.
Think of it as having been created by using the DNA of an e-bike. Today it already answers tomorrow's urban mobility questions. Vilgard makes mobility fun again by giving its drivers a powerful and dynamic driving experience imaginable. And not only is this vehicle sustainable. It will also help convert your city into a more livable and lively home.

I want one and want it NOW! Looks sturdier than the PEBL. Some of us just need a light duty vehicle for errands and shopping within a few miles of home. This guy with two or three 35AHr SLA batteries and a 700W motor and pedals would do very nicely.
Of course it looks sturdier, it would also be twice the weight and twice the price. It would be too heavy for useful pedaling. And four wheels means you have to license and insure it in the US. ELF and PEBL are state of the art in vehicles that mesh with existing US laws.
We kinda need this now during lockdown and please make it affordable

The thing is that you can not earn any money with it. Companies are just loosing money with it. Look at torrot velocipedo...this is nice. And the company has other products as well...maybe they bring in the velocipedo soon within a mixed costing.

Very unlikely. If you stick with three wheels these light vehicles can conform to existing federal laws for e-assist bicycles, that means no insurance or license requirement. With 4 wheels you have to license and insure it. This is not the same issue in other countries.
Popeye Gordon My understanding here in the EU is that these would currently still need insurance, road tax and annual testing for road worthiness.
In the US they would be exempt if the top speed is 20 mph. But this is all moot, the vehicle in the drawing would weigh way too much to be viable for pedaling.
Okay here in the US in Tennessee there is a company called Rhoades car . It's $ 1500 for one but you can get it in a single seat 2seat or four seat model now enclosure does not come with it but a canopy does but that does not mean you cannot add a full enclosure for it

I did my original drawings in 2008 with pencil, lots of eraser, graph paper a protractor and a ruler. They were kinda crappy but i ended up with a very reliable machine.
No design of this type should fail to include solar cells on all horizontal surfaces. This is extremely important since the goal is to reduce emissions but most locations where you plug in to charge use fossil fuels for power generation. My ELF fully charges itself every day here in Florida, I get 100% of my transportation energy needs directly from the sun and a bit of pedaling.

Two or three wheels in most states can be rated a "bicycle" and needs no inspection, license, or insurance. Four wheels in most states is rated a motor vehicle that is required to have inspection, license, or insurance.
Hi nice concept. I have seen the company Schaeffter make a similar hybrid bicycle with 4 wheels i wonder how much this will cost. I also wish in this design there could be a high power solar panel to recharge on the go, and maybe a small wind turbine to collect wind power while pedalling the wind can collect great amounts of energy while pedalling. Solar + wind turbine would make lots of power. I wonder if in this concept you can use only 1 thing at a time. Like just battery or just cycle with out assistant.
Wind power would essentially cause drag and fight the electric motor

Looks nice as a drawing. Have you gone past drawing/conceptual stage? I see others out there with practical prototypes, some in production and some working prototypes from bigger companies so you have you work cut out for you - Good Luck.

If only we Filipinos make one and mass produce it as an alternative to cars. Large urbanized places like Metro Manila need them.

There are dozens of these cool looking electric trikes that never ever ever get produced. They are always raising money but nobody can ever buy one. I love the idea of them, but i will never put my money down on a waiting list cause these small companies always go out of business and investors get stiffed.

Would sell better if you add the feature for it to be classified as a bicycle under ebike law. So for USA it would be 20mph/ 32kmph and for Europe like 24kmph? One of the draws for a vehicle like this is transportation that doesnt require registration or drivers license.
The unique selling point of Vilgard compared to other vehicles like the Organic Transit ELF is a package of speed, comfort, and safety. You can ride it on the street including the city highway with the same speed and acceleration as a car (in the city).

If it can drive on a US highway safety becomes a bigger issue. I never see anything like a bumper on any of these things everything else looks good here

Thank you for your interest. At this point we cannot give a launching date. It depends on funding, same as the price. Including the batteries a range inbetween 10 and 20 k euro is realistic.

i know driving but i have fear to drive so this concept has inspired me a lot and i always idealized such invention.but i wonder why such vehicles are outreach for everybody and i feel if there are some issues to introduce them publicly even though they are safe to use and can prevent from accidents.even i googled many times if such vehicles are available in New York but google disappoint me.and now i have stopped watching these promo videos that seems me more teaser as you show hunter beef to a guy with no teeth.

I think the biggest issue on this kind of vehicle is price, if they cost the same as a regular car (or more) then it's just a premium toy and regular people can't buy it

Ich denke das ist auch machbar, weil viele Menschen schon bewusster geworden sind. Nur die Gegner sind die Automobilindustrie sowie die Bundesregierung, die sich gegen solche Fahrzeuge mit aller gesetzlicher Macht und Gewalt stemmen. Leider Gottes. Deutschland hat Angst vor Veränderungen, da man es sich, um seine sensible Wirtschaft bzw. Lobbyisten sorgen macht, die das System stemmt. Da die Autoindustrie ansehen und anteile (=Geld) verlieren würde und das möchte man zusammen (BR und AI) verhindern. Lieber einen SUV in der Stadt fahren, um zu demonstrieren das man ziemlich arrogant ist und es heutzutage "noch" möglich ist ohne Konsequenzen zu fahren. Was für eine dumme Einstellung der Gesellschaft. Ich möchte ein Bindeglied einer smarten Gesellschaft sein mit ökologischen Bewusstsein und nicht der jetzigen aktuellen verlogenen Gesellschaft. This vehicle isn't selling well because it doesn't exist. If you look at the available data, you'll find that things-that-don't-exist often experience sluggish sales. One solution to the problem is to actually manufacture the vehicle, instead of just sitting in your mum's basement turning out fantasy vehicles with 3D software, and then wasting people's time with pointless UA-cam videos. Having said that, I think its one of the best vehicles within its category (its category being the Vehicles-That-Don't-Exist category). I'm also impressed by the made-up fantasy statistics. It seems that its imaginary performance is going to be hard to beat, unless it comes up against imaginary vehicles dreamed up by people who can imagine better performance figures. For example, I myself can imagine a vehicle that will do one gazillion miles to the kwH and costs less than one cent to buy and lasts for one billion years. And it can fly as well. And travel through time. As soon as I get my 3D software running my imaginary vehicle will be much more impressive than the one shown in this video.

Obviously too heavy to permit a useful amount of pedal power for moving the vehicle. The absolute limit for one person usefully pedaling is about 200 pounds vehicle weight.
I would put a hyabusa motor on it.

Our laws in Ontario Canada, say must have no more than three wheels or it's a car, and this would never meet car safety standards. One too many wheels.
