Mickey Mantle was in a slump for 2 games, he went and took a golf lesson on his off day to get away from baseball, low and hold the instructor told him he was late on getting the club to square up! He went to batting practice the next day and said "I think I am late getting the barrel to the ball and figured it out in batting practice. Next game 3 for 4 game after that 4 for 4, he went on that year to win the batting crown!!... good demonstration Mike!!

Mike thanks so much for making these videos. My golf swing is so much better now and I'm also just getting into softball so relating the 2 swings is gonna be so beneficial for me. thanks a bunch you're the man!

Very good analysis and makes sense👍 I think that release pivot point is the key. You can "adjust" your grip and lag amount and make it work for your style.

To me the biggest difference between golf and baseball is that while the end of the baseball bat is round, the golf club head is flat. You can rotate the baseball bat as much as you want and it won't affect where the ball goes, but you can't do that in golf. If the club face isn't square when you hit it, you're not going to hit it straight.

This is why my best club is my Kick Wedge!

Like some Malaska videos on how to hit a draw or fade with his technique. My shots are pretty straight but need to curve ball sometimes.

Certainly the biggest difference between golf and baseball swings is that in baseball the ball is moving and coming at you 80-90+ mph. Stands to reason that the fundamentals would be clearly different to allow for that movement. I've never seen a touring pros swing where the shoulders or the hips are square to the ball at impact. The hips are quite open and shoulders less so but nonetheless open.

Mike..your bat grip is awful. Either, line up your middle knuckles or align your top middle knuckles between the bottom's first and middle knuckles. It's crucial to place your right elbow correctly. Also, ALL baseball players hit with the bottom hand facing the sky and the top hand facing ground..not like golf.
