    Great video J! Love seeing stuff a bit different I don't see on every other channel. More like this please! Maybe even a video sharpening and edge testing a few knives in these ultra budget steels just to see how they do would be fun.

    The back country folder with the orange blade looks like they are trying to give us an affordable Benchmade Tagged Out and I'm here for it. If only it had a crossbar lock

      If I was looking to cut out a back strap or some other tight work with a folder where it's blind wet work, I think a back lock is the best option to avoid accidentally unlocking it.

    It's cool to see some Brownings that seem to be a little nicer than the ones I've seen in the past. Obviously they still have that last 10% to go before they're something I'd be totally happy with.

    • @knivesiguess
      @knivesiguess 16 днів тому

      Of course it's hard to tell outright without having them in hand, but they look to be a huge step up from the S&W offerings and a fair amount better than the budget Gerber knives I've handled. That last 10% is pretty big, that's where all of the fit, finish, and small details are. They still look a lot better than I'm used to seeing out of Browning. The crap steel on a couple of them are a different story, I agree that anything below 8cr is unacceptable over $10.

    That flex and cracking sound was scary. Gun company branded knives are often just, you know... There are some exceptions but S&W, Browning, Winchester, etc, etc.

    When a model/company has consistent off centering, it's often because their blades (or casts/molds) are off, and the blades aren't straight. Spyderco tenacious had this problem. Everyone noticed how the centering was off at the exact same spot, and when I got mine I confirmed it was because the blade itself wasn't straight. Funnily, people also noticed how it seemed to magically cut better. Guess why? Again, caused by the blade not being straight.

    Gerber, Browning, Smith & Wesson, I could keep on going, these used to be so so knives back in the day and have only gotten worse over the years. Keep hearing negative stuff about Chinese made knives, maybe these knives are made in the factories that use to put out the crap Chinese knives of the 70s or the gas station knives of today. Makes me sick to think about these knives today. Won't ever buy another knife made by any of the three. Thanks Jerad

    I am gonna go out on a limb and say no. Reminds me of those $17 M&P style knives made of 6CR or whatever because they don’t say. Steel bricks with no action, thick blades that aren’t sharp. My buddy got me one for a wedding gift for his groomsmen. Granted he got us a lot of gifts better but he didn’t know Ganzo or Civivi existed when he got them.
