Great video! But Jason....you forgot ONE thing. Throw this baby on your A7-IV and switch to FULL FRAME. Shoot in 16x9 video and change your Clear Image Zoom into a 1.2 sensor crop! Yup...you guessed it...you now have a perfect 13mm...full frame field of view at f1.8. Sick....just crazy sick. (You can of course read crop from 1.2 to 1.5 if you want too)

How does this lens performe in Astro photography ?
I think it's great. I also think the bodies it attaches to are aging. It's time for some new crop bodies. Really time.
Recently picked up the Sony 15mm 1.4, which is awesome. Considered the 11mm 1.8 but worried about distortion with portraits (yeah, it’s not a portrait lens, but the 15 gives me more flexibility for portraits).
11mm 1.8 on a a7iv, can I use a nd filter size of 67mm step down to 55mm, will it cause any vignetting, I am shooting in 4k24fps with active stabilization, thanks a lot!

@@MichaelHeredia great choices. I heard sigma 16mm is a god tier. Im seeing good comments about Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 too, and a couple of youtube channel said that viltrox is better than sigma 16mm. So I am confuse lol

Nice! I had to unfortunetly sell my Sony a7c w/ f1.8 G Lens 2 months ago due to the cost of living crisis in NZ and moving place. One of my goals is to get a Sony replacement nearer the end of this year (Sony ZV-E10) plus this Lens. Will use primarily for 4k video for night events (low light) like fireworks or indoor shows or anything in low light. Looking to get later this year as thats when retailers have better sales and gives me some time to save. It'll also be much lighter and less expensive than my Sony a7c kit I sold.
I got an A6700 and bought just the 11mm lens for it.
I found no flaws in it, I can hardly believe how good it is.
A Viltrox 23mm is on the way, since ultrawide isn't for everything...
Definitely looking to upgrade my lens after having my new Sony A6100 for a year! I want to use this lens for vlogging, podcasts and just creating content in general for TikTok and UA-cam shorts! I hope this lens will be amazing with it!

I was comparing the 13mm Viltrox and the Sony 11mm.
The Viltrox AF is just not very good for video (yet?)
This would go well with the Sony A74 when it's in the Super 35mm mode.

One thing that was not covered is stabilization. I don’t think this lens has any built in and to be honest you can really tell. I found everything beautiful but way too shaky. So I wonder what you can do in post to correct this (I hope you didn’t already 😅)

a6600 although you can do video stabilization in post with the free Sony Catalyst software.

Naw sure the story is awesome and camera presence is great and people won’t even notice any shake. If shake is a worry vlog with a light gimbal or place the camera down

I have a Canon M50 aps-c with the Laowa 9mm f2.8 = 13mm full frame equivalent. Which has proven to be very capable shooting real estate for about 8 months now. I had a Sigma 16mm f1.4 which is the sharpest and best lens I ever had shooting in very low light situations. But certainly not wide enough for real estate.
This Sony 11mm f1.8 looks like it will do well shooting real estate but not as wide as the Laowa 9mm. My only gripe about this Laowa is it's not as sharp at the corners as I would like. Is this Sony 11mm sharp at the corners?
Which these ultra wide angle lenses do you suggest for indoor real estate videography in a low light noisy situation with the Sony ZV-E10 camera ?

Looks great. I own the SEL16F28, and I think this would be a better setup for my vintage :) Alpha NEX-7. For sure better for video, and the avility to switch from AF to MF with the flip of a switch. I also own the SAL70300G, so I know how nice having that avility to just flip the switch is.

How about the compartison with the Viltrox 16mm f1.8 lens? Viltrox in fullframe mode Sony 11mm f1.8 in super 35 crop mode? How about the image quality at corners? Using Sony's 11mm lens in FF mode with active steady shot + 1.2x clear image zoom gives better result at 14,5mm than the noisy super 35 crop mode. If we use super 35 crop + act steady shot, it's ~18mm according. But this is the same when Viltrox's 16mm lens is used with act seady shot mode. I think the best way to use 11mm lens with act steady shot + breathing comp (so we don't lose eye tracking) and a little correction in Davinci.
I'm keen to get this lens for its wide shots and quick auto focus. I'm wanting it for gym content for TikTok, UA-cam shorts and Instagram reels. I think it's the lens I've been looking for fingers crossed

Probably the only thing holding me back from getting the ZVe10 is this no stabilization. For some of the no cut runs that i would like to do it’s just soooo shaky. Hope that release a V2 someday that has this feature (and 4k60)
Get a small cheap gimbal like the Crane M2
Nah the zve10 has gyro stabalization. Search up gyroflow
10-20 f4 or 11mm 1.8 after kit lens? What do you suggest for zv-e10 after kit lens? I think f4 is not enough for indoors and dark here in the north with reindeers at backyard.

Hola Abraham... Pues eso va a depender de la calidad con la que grabaste. Por ejemplo, con mi a7iv grabo a 4k 24fps y a esa calidad exporto, pero con mi a5100 grabo a 1080 24fps , así que exporto a 1080
This makes me suspect that sony is preparing to launch a new APS-C camera. There is an obvious gap at the top of the APS-C range, a baby A7IV perhaps.

Thanks for great video and information you have provided us as usual, I bought this lens (brand new) and when I use it on Sony ZV E10 it keeps focus changing from my face and background (I use ND filter and lowest aperture), it happens even when I use it with zhiyun crane 3 and sit down on a chair in park , is it something wrong with the lens or with my camera settings you think?

Cannot refute. I really dig this little guy. I have two setups. An fx3 upon which lives the 14mm GM. A ZV-E10 upon which lives this lens. The latter is just fun to walk around with, the former for more critical filming. I guess I just dig the wide angle look.

Hey. I recently ordered the Sony ZV E10 with kit lens 16-50 and got it for 533 USD. I have shot some videos using my S20 FE 5G. For content creation, do you think that the ZV E10 with kit lens will be much better? I dont have the time to color grade or do such editing.
I have two soft boxes and a led panel for studio recording.
i used this with a FF a7iii. dude that sells it doesn't recommend it. Was it a bad investment? If it is im probably gonna sell it as its still brand new. I love the lens though.

Well depends on the job but the sony is more expensive but also wider. If you really need that width, the 11mm is the winner
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema I guess that another thing to consider is weight. The 13mm is heavier, and would probably be on the edge to use with a Crane M3/M2S, while the 11mm would give you room to attach a mic, for vlog.
