Shawntas Way Thank you so much. This did absolute WONDERS. I have very thick hair that has quite recently gotten very dry with split ends. I heard you can't get rid of split ends without cutting them, but it's moisturized my hair from top to bottom leaving it silky smooth, even my ends! They're not fully repaired, but they haven't felt this way in a while.

I really like this method and use it often to add moisture midweek. I find it builds up the moisture levels in my hair too! To actually clean my hair and scalp between washes, I dilute a moisturizing shampoo with distilled water. I apply half to my scalp (applicator bottle shaken up), rub, then pour the rest over my hair (using a bowl). I don't scrub or shampoo, but I smooth everything through like conditioner. I follow-up with pure water to rinse my scalp + hair, squeeze out excess water, moisturize (LCO) and t-shirt dry. I would love to skip the actual "wash" process, but my scalp gets itchy and oily within 4 days and my low porosity hair gets buildup easily.

It's funny because I moisture my hair the same way, except for I also add the oil to my scalp. I don't know if you did add oil to your scalp and I just missed it, but yeah. People say I have that "good hair". My curls are loose and my hair has always been super thick and long. I think it has to do with genes because "good hair" is in some parts of my family. Anyway your hair is gorgeous and I want mine to get to at least my tailbone like your length. ❤😊

I have been using the LCO method since May 2016, and my low to normal porosity hair loves it. How's the Camille Rose Naturals Fresh Curl Revitalizing Smoother, and how can it be used? How's the Tangle Teezer? I need to work on smoothing product better into my roots, in order to avoid frizz, and need to learn how to flat twist. Beautiful twist out results!!

Hi Shawnta,l love your videos on managing hair growth I have a question about my two nieces hair one keeps her hair in braids with extensions added to it,the other one have braids without extensions her hair is little below shoulder length.what can they use for their scalps and on top of their hair to ease the itching and the frizzy look they get after a week in. Also when they have a breather from braids what conditioner or moisturizer can they use for every day use or every other day,Sorry for so much questions😀

Hi Shawnta, please can I ask how often would I do this routine during the week? I work from home, so for the most part I usually leave my hair wrapped & rarely moisturise etc as I'm not leaving the house!! Would you suggest that during the week I do this routine & then rewrap my hair even if I'm not going out?! I've struggled with hair growth & feel that it's stopped at shoulder length & i'm wondering if this is the longest it will grow! Thank you in advance for any reply...also thanks in advance for any other reply from the viewers! :) x

I love your videos Shawntae. I've been natural for 5 years with no heat. I'm just starting the wash and go in which I love on you and a couple others. I'm struggle with moisture and curl definition especially in the crown area. Everyday last week after coming in from work I was at it again with wetting my and using curl puddings and moisture creams. I was getting frustrated. So I decided to wet my hair again and try using Eco styling jell wearing a ponytail. Friday morning my ponytail was on fleek. Curls popping and moist. Why can't I get the same results when I try the wash and go for my entire head? I also us the Loc process as well. I tried the pre poo over the weekend before shampooing in which I only do once a month. I co wash, deep condition weekly and Im gonna make a Avoco protien mask on the holiday weekend. Please help me to understand my crown and front of my hair near the edges. I really want to wear my natural curls. I have no problems with twist outs and or band two knots. However my edges are thinning so I must stop with the tention cause by the twisting. What I am doing wrong. Thank you and keep the videos coming.

Braid the root tightly (not extremely tight, your hair will fall out/bald). Poor braiding equals big roots. Be gentle with combing and make sure the hair and scalp are cleaned weekly.

Lelaunie Brown usually just gets me half way through the week..so after a week of a washed hair; I'll follow up the beginning of the following week sometimes doing this method and then wear it this way for about 3 days or more (no more then a week) and then I'll wash it..so it's a total of about 2 weeks with no wash

Thank you so much for making this video! I really needed to figure out a great way to keep my hair moisturized because everyday is a struggle. I haven't relaxed my hair since March 2015 since I got pregnant. I'm trying to keep up with the natural thing. I've had really great hair in the beginning and maybe it was because I was pregnant taking prenatals but now my hair is a total mess😭 I have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis and I now have maybe an inch worth of hair surrounding a small bald spot in the middle of my head! My short hairs are a completely different texture than the rest and is always dry no matter what I did to it. I'm at a complete loss. My surrounding hair is shoulder length. I was wondering have you had any experience personal or non-personal with this condition. Do you think you could maybe suggest a few things I should try. Or any followers have any experience? It's become to the point that i get so frustrated and emotional with it that I just wear expensive wigs to cover it up. Please help me!

      Hi there!👋🏽
Please don't stress! This adds to your problem, but all is not lost. I had hair loss when my father died due to stress, but now have waist length hair exactly the same as Shawnia. I'm not lying! Have a look at your diet and sleep pattern too, as everything is related. Also try not to wear wigs for a prolonged period, your scalp needs vitamin D to stay healthy. Also try biotin tablets and vitamin E oil (I use both regularly) I'm a vegan so....
Drink lots of water and stay happy! I hope everything works out for you.
You have a lovely face. Too nice to be sad! 😃

I'm not sure what your hair texture is but if it's not like a type 2 or type 1 like her hair is, stay away from the tangle teaser. That brush is not designed for afro and kinky textured hair. It will literally shred your hairs cuticle layer. I'm a 4b natural speaking from experience.

Did you ever used henna on your hair during your transition? I heard it stretches out your curl pattern.

Bianca Alex henna helps a lot and stretchs the curls a little bit I can see the difference of texture and color between my roots and the treated part of my hair. To strech you curl pattern you need to use henna several times like once every 5/6 weeks. It can dries our hair a little bit but if you mix it with olive oil, it's ok.

Kinda bummed when I saw that you did the LCO or LOC method...my hair doesn't do well with ANY type of oil. Notice the caps 'ANY'. That means NO OIL works for my hair. The oil will either just sit on my hair or dry it out. Those are my two choices. There is no 3rd option...oh well. Back to the drawing board for this 4C low porosity gal.

    Good evening
I have heat damage and I have about shoulder length hair , I never actually do wash and go's because it's so short when it's drying and I just don't know how to retain my length or keep it out of ponytails so that it can actually breathe & grow. If you have any suggestions for me please respond, if not thank you for your time

Jaendrix Rodriguez do you pineapple or sleep on a satin pillow case? This is helpful with keep hair fresh..also be sure to refresh in the morning I like using just plain old water..I spray my hair everyday with water and only add product if needed

Does this method make the scalp itchy? Or promote product build up?

    • @ShawntasWay
      @ShawntasWay  7 років тому

+Kasha Glamorous hey! It will only result in product build up if done too much..my suggestion is 1 week max after coming off of a week of washed hair
