We don't always hit 2 or 3 Royals in a single night, as I've done many times in the past, but we're certainly gonna try.

    Max bet, yes indeed. Going back 30+ years ago, we were at Arizona Charlies. Went belly up. I put my coat on and realized I had a quarter in my coat pocket. Back then $1000 was like winning the lottery. My ex said, "Don't do it!!!" I did. Dealt a royal with one quarter bet. I will never forget it.

    Nice work John. I've hit 2 progressive $5 Royals this year for $22k and $23K. I start chasing them when they get +10%. Hit the $2 progressive Royals too! All on casino money. The $5 Royals did take some time on BP and chewed up a considerable amount of bankroll but persistence paid off in both cases! It's surprising how much longer you can play on JOB or BP with the paying 2 pair hands vs the non paying 2 pair games.

      Congratulations on your Royal hits this year! The progressives make it even more worthwhile since they bonused you an additional $5K+ to add to your bankroll. You out played me this year. Well done!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    John, as you know I am a big fan of your play. In this session, however, I was very disappointed. It seems to me when you are over funded it is even more important that you slow down and make the proper plays. In this session I believe you made 4 improper plays. First at 1:45 the proper play was the 2,3,4 diamonds and not the two face cards. At 6:50 the proper play was the four card straight rather than the face card. At 8:18 the proper play was the 4,5,6 of hearts and not the face card. Finally, at 10:42 the proper hold was the 2,4,5 of spades and not the two face cards. If I am wrong I stand corrected but if I am not the play was below par.

      Hi Kirt,
      You may have already seen my response to another subscriber who brought up the same point as you just mentioned. But I’ll reprint it here. When a machine is not rolling the way I expect it too (i.e. flushes that don't hit, certain Aces & Face card scenarios etc.) I'll choose a short term strategy over the long term strategies. I do this particularly when I'm underfunded with the initial bankroll. I choose a strategy that benefits the smaller bankroll. On larger bankrolls used on the larger denominations (such as $10, $20, $25, & $50 denominations) I meticulously stick to sloppy near-perfect play and implement a severe adherence to a long term strategy. But you are correct, I need to get back to daily practice on a simulator that "warns on mistakes" to get back to near-perfect play as possible. Your point is well taken, and on very serious "big coin" sessions, I'm all about correct long term play. Thank you for the reminder, back to the drawing-board and daily simulator play for me. Sometimes though, no amount of perfect play can overcome negative variance where just nothing is hitting. So I resorted to “incorrect play” to see if I could force the issue on certain hands that just weren’t landing. Of course, it didn’t work, but even proper play wasn’t working at the time. Thank you for your comments, regardless. You’ll not see much of incorrect play from me in future videos. Merry Christmas, Kirt.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎🎄

      One thing I have learned is that sometimes I can play perfectly and get my clock cleaned and on other occasions make just plain dumb plays and come out smelling like a rose. Sometimes it is more profitable to be lucky then smart- but not in the overall picture..

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  8 місяців тому

      No doubt about it. But for sure, you are correct that near-perfect strategy is the only way to go.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

      Thank you, Linda. At least, the original $500 bankroll lasted a while before it finally bit the dust. And it gave me a few shots at the $20,000 Royal for several videos before its demise. Every hand played is an investment towards the next Royal. I’m sure to catch an $8,000 or $20,000 Royal on video in the coming year of 2024. Thank you for watching.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    You were talking about royals;have you ever heard of anyone hitting back to back royals on the same machine

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  8 місяців тому +1

      I’m sure it has happened before, but I don’t personally know anyone who has done back-to-back Royals. I have hit 2 Royals on the same machine in the same session before, but they weren’t back-to-back. I’ve hit 2 & 3 Royals several times in one day before also, but on separate machines & in separate casinos on the same day. But my best day was: 3 Royals in 3 hours in 2 different casinos for $110,000 off of a single $100 Bill that was won off of $15 free play a week or two before. The 1st Royal was $2,000 on a 50¢ coin denomination, the 2nd Royal was $8,000 on the $2 coin denomination, and the 3rd Royal was $100,000 on the $25 coin denomination, all of them in a span of 3 hours. And it was all won off of $15 in free play. Crazy!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

      @@johnsworldofvideopoker thanks for the info. I suppose mathematically it is possible, but I always ask video poker players the same question most think no. The odd thing I have observed about game king machines that the greater number of my royal flushes have been clubs.out of approximately twenty of them about fourteen were clubs

    Thank you so much John. I've watched every UA-cam video you've made learning your technique of going up and down on the denom as I won and lost playing bonus poker and hit a royal for $20,000.00 at the Boulder Station in Las Vegas this last Halloween. I've hit royals before but never for more than $4,000.00.

      @@johnsworldofvideopoker Unfortunately your audience is going to be a little too intelligent, on average, to buy that. You used this for the thumbnail in the hopes that people would watch the video thinking that the Royal was included in the video. I was sitting playing video poker in Southern California and two other players specifically called out your channel for using clickbait, which they feel is a form of dishonesty that turns them off your channel.
      I get the temptation, and it’s your channel and your choice. This is just a friendly suggestion that you might not want to use those tactics in the future if you’d like to grow the channel.

      @timjacobson7096 I was deep into a money-making session that was rolling like crazy & I didn’t have my tripod with me, so I just went with it. In that session, I hit many, many, Quads, which also included, 2 Quad Aces for $2,000 each, a Straight Flush for $1,250, and finally (after a 4.5 hour battle) I hit the $20,000 Royal. All off of a $500 bankroll. It was awesome, but alas, I wasn’t filming.🫣🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    Enjoy your teaching. Would you say that playing higher denoms improve odds of a better payout (as they do while playiing slots)?

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  8 місяців тому

      Video Poker, across the board, has better odds than playing a slot machine (assuming the player is well-practiced on a video poker simulator. Slot machines have a set percentage pay out (from approximately 75%-92%). Only a select few of slot machines in a casino has any percentage higher than that. Video poker, on the other hand, is almost always at 98% or more in a casino. 9/6 Jacks or Better has an average payout of 99.54%, 8/5 Bonus Poker, has an average payout of 99.17%. Slot machines can’t begin to compete with video poker machines. However, slot machines do have the advantage of having jackpots into the multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars & multiple millions of dollars for the lucky few that manage to hit the biggest jackpots. The most you’ll see on a video poker machine is $400,000 maximum (unless it’s a multi-line machine) where up to a million dollars could be won. This happened one night when Slotmassacre, Bigkats, and I were at the Cosmopolitan, when a player hit $1,000,000 on a multi-line game. Continual practice on a video poker simulator that “warns on mistakes”, is your best bet towards enhancing your chances of hitting jackpots in video poker. Good luck out there, Suzy Q!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

I'm sure a lot of folks you keep in touch with have hit some great Royals. So far just two for me this year, but can't complain when the second one was dealt!
