This is great advice that I think most people will no take it that seriously. Trying to improve is hard, and having the "pressure" of winning/losing pdl each game has a big mental impact on most players which makes it pretty much impossible to actually play to improve. Being able to practice in a low-stakes enviroment and with shorter legnth games REALLY increases the amount of mental stack you can put in actually improving. You can also focus one thing at a time: Dodging, DPS'ing, landing skillshots or even oneshots with assassin characters, ARAM really is a great place to improve if you know where to look,
Completely agree with this, in summoner's rift u probably get 2-3 "real" teamfights per game before the game is over, so you are basically PvE for most of the game which helps improve macro for sure but not mechanics or movements
i did the reverse, played 1000s of adc games in aram, jg top in soloq, before finally queuing botlane. the entire learning curve was toning down my aggression, respecting my long flash cd, flanks, and level disadvantage. my favorite thing in this game is getting draven in an aram. i'd play it all day
One thing to note is certain champs in aram has flat nerfs with like 90% dmg dealt, which can to a small degree screw up the “feel” for ur damage in early item spikes. (I also did the Aram thing)
This is actually pretty good advice imo. I play a lot of aram for fun when I'm alone, and i've noticed that my skillshot dodging has been drastically improved.
ARAM has a lot of benefits that people dont see. Other than the constant teamfighting and the better mental (hopefully) you also get used to playing with and against more champions, not just the meta 30 champions. Also also you learn about different champions, how they work, what their weaknesses are and some special interation which also makes you a much better player. You are just more prepared for more scenarios.
Very insightful. Thanks for this video. I have denied playing with my friends on aram because I wanted to improve and I always believe I could only do that on the rift but this has opened my eyes.
I'm not bored of ranks SR, I'm just training for my Masters+ push.... for the last 3 years straight! Seriously though, when I do go back to the rift I've notice a large improvement in my mechanics and team fighting
these are the best types of advice for competitive games, basically you're teaching how to translate skill to instinct so you can focus on whats important. Ive done the same with valorant and siege with pretty similar methods and now that I'm trying to learn league Im trying to do the same
i also played like 400 arams for a time always after work cause i thought rankeds are to long, when i startet playing again i improved from peak emerald to master in like 3 weeks cause my mechanics got insanely better
Good tip with the aram, I've been practicing it for a while now. Just remember that some items and champions have different balancing in aram, of course, it will still work, but it's something you should keep in mind
But aram modifiers make stuff a bit different than normal so dont base ur dmg entirely on this cuz u might deal less or more dmg depending on what u play or what the enemy plays , in this case ashe w cd is set to 20 sec at all ranks or something like that so u dont spam it with the support is build
that shouldn't really matter though, most adcs have normal damage % and ashe W is not the main point of this practice, you should be focusing on the autospacing + movements / dodging skillshot aspect
@LoLEnryu ashe has 5% bonus dmg done and 3% bonus attack speed but most champs receive more or less dmg in aram so it might feel a bit off not to mention the pacing and scaling overall are slightly different since even items differ a bit so the same item powerspikes might not apply on a 1:1 ratio , in lol meta is given when a patch adds 5 percent scalling let alone a enemy receiving 10% more or less dmg If you wanna practice 5 vs 5 all mid teamfight and how to dodge stuff and space its perfectly fine but dont think ur dmg at 1 item is gonna be exactly the same or the dmg u receive from a akali rotation will be exactly the same as on rift
I kinda agree for your own experience that is rly good since you were not confident as an adc, but you had game knowledge from ur previous experienxe that help u a lot uwu
all roles are connected, experience as a jungler barely carries over into adc with the exception of wave management, and most junglers don't even understand their laners' waves
I took a break from ranked years ago and I played arams ever since. Now i'm trying ranks again as a adc and the difference i am seeing in team fights versus the other adc is huge. I've climbed to gold within a couple of days. The thing is now I have to work on CSing/learning how to back etc. Also arams allow you to learn ALOT of champions which enables you to learn when you can approach enemies / enemy cd's. The tough part for me in ranked right now is the mage supports who wish they were mid? I am not sure.
ARAM is a wonderful idea. What are your thoughts on the current state of adc as a role? I’ve been struggling a good bit in emerald. I know I hear plenty of people complaining about it, but I’m curious if that’s factual or just a disgruntled player base.
@LoLEnryu really? I play him one trick since a long time but i always feel i can't impact late game when i get fed with him and my friends discourage me to play him because of it.. ive never got out of gold
i was stuck for 4 yers in gold and sky rocket all the way to Diamond 4 in 10months but since then (4 months ago since i hit diamon) i dont feel any improvement anymore and i still cant see where i do the mistakes because when i rewatch my games i dont feel that i did anything wrong and even when i watch it multiple times its just very wierd.. feeling a bit down because i rly try hard to improve but nothing is happening.
doesn't have to be adc every single game, league has over 150 champions, can play other champs for fun (also can ask teammates nicely for champs - usually works for me)
Its kinda off topic but i have a question; im a support main and i used to sub adc. Now, when i did, i used to AA with my left click, since i had it binded on attack move. It felt comfy for me, but i ended up reverting to the standard settings since it interacted in a clunky way with the shop and the minimap (for example). Now, managing those things is way better but i refuse to play adcs even in aram since i find very uncomfortable to use right click or the A key, especially cause right clicking may end up in a misinput and make me walk towards my demise. Could i ask you about your settings? I'm asking you cause i have an interest in nilah, but she' unplayable for me like this, which i think is a waste cause i resonate with her playstyle
what about the nerfes and the buffs of champs in aram how can i be sure that the buff they got didnt make them stronger or weaker for muscle memory i mean if i can kill them 1 shot with statik ashe
I dont agree that aram is how you "get good" at adc when most of adc is just having good enough macro to stat chreck the enemy team. No matter how good your mechanics are if your macro farm is bad you will just be flipping a rigged coin against yourself every fight you take.
of course you have to learn how to play summoners rift, but for example in my case i’m good at playing the first 15 minutes, until it comes to teamfighting and i’m getting jumped, as an adc, no matter how much damage you can dish out, you’re still one shot, i think i won’t only play arams after watching this video because again you really have to learn how to play summoners rift with macro, but the micro learning from aram with short games is great

at least you limit tested enough and slowly pulled back

Agreed! I learned what a lot of champions do from aram alone bc I rarely play/play vs. them in ranked
Very insightful. Thanks for this video. I have denied playing with my friends on aram because I wanted to improve and I always believe I could only do that on the rift but this has opened my eyes.
Glad it was helpful!
Very interesting! My only doubt would be the RNG of picking a champion. Most of the time you won't be an ADC.
u could ask nicely for champions, aram players generally are nice enough to give u the champ 50% of the time (from my experience at least)
You can play a lot of champs on hit and it's not that grief

ARAM helped me a lot with dodging skill shots. Even to understand other champion's kits.
i agree, this helped me as well
ARAM is a wonderful idea. What are your thoughts on the current state of adc as a role? I’ve been struggling a good bit in emerald. I know I hear plenty of people complaining about it, but I’m curious if that’s factual or just a disgruntled player base.
I think adc is a good class right now, the game is rather balanced with the one exception of mages bot lane being disgusting
@@LoLEnryu I appreciate the positive outlook. You seem really level-headed in your videos, so I was very interested in your take.
Thanks for the vid, I learned a lot. I'll go and try to work on my weak points bit by bit.
I'm now going to put this into practice.
But in aram you can't necessarily have always an adc, when how do you do?
Amazing idea, thank you brother
The fact that a challenger ADC barely outdamages a random full tank poppy really raises some questions...
Enryu do you think its possible to climb as a jhin one trick?
Yes, I think Jhin is a very powerful utility adc with good scaling. I've seen many players hit challenger with jhin only
@LoLEnryu really? I play him one trick since a long time but i always feel i can't impact late game when i get fed with him and my friends discourage me to play him because of it.. ive never got out of gold
Thanks dude. I try it❤
Now you just have to hope to get an ADC in most ARAM games
because of azzap, whenever i see an ff vote, i try harder to win. im more consistently carrying games since then
that's really good!
thank u.. do u think (im a very new player) using lolalytics to build items for aram or do is it not necessary and just use recc
thoughts on new yuntal on nilah? (ik she got nerfed but i still like playing her)
it's decent if u can afford BF sword but collector prob still best 1st item

when arena was available also that was good?
how would you deliberately get an adc champ in aram?
doesn't have to be adc every single game, league has over 150 champions, can play other champs for fun (also can ask teammates nicely for champs - usually works for me)

it's just for a general feeling of how much damage u can do, the muscle memory doesn't have to be perfect it's just for practice
my first game trying this already got a nasus on enemy team
cleanse/ghost is good for arams in general - if ur scared of champs like nasus just like cleanse for safety
becoming an on-hit ashe main from NOW ON
oh god
But how can you get ADC champ each time? Make new account only buy adc champs?
bro is playing league of casino
we gotta run up some arams $50 table
How do I guarantee to get an ADC is ARAM?
Great video
Thanks!
Enryu!!!! I'm struggling with Nilah in 14.21. Please link me runes and items for this patch and 14.22.
Thank you!!!
Conqueror still the best keystone, secondary can go resolve or secondary - for build just go crit w/e items u need but collector 1st
