Gosh, the baby emus have gotten so big! But them and the baby chickens are the sweetest, along with Rocco and Bean and of course Hank, Sam and Harry. You don't have anyone that isn't cute! Love the area where Jackie is, brings back memories of rooting around as a kid.
She was having a good time out there - strange that she spent some much time on the porch watching TV (or us). That was cool to look out the window and see a giant Emu staring in :)
Your property is beautiful. I don't feel it's mean not to have baby emus this year, you have plenty of things going on . When you have the time to devout to it and enjoy yourself then go for it, until then there are lots of baby somethings running around. :)
Hi. Im not an emu owner but I have watched a lot of emu videos. They seem to pair the lady's off with a male. Then see if she wants that male. He's has to do a lot of work after lol. But yeah leave her this year. Then you have more time to get ready. And it will be great to follow xxx
For sure, the girls run the yard - they aren't much involved in the baby raising side of things - they just lay their eggs and move on. Jackie is pretty young though, next year I think it will go a little smoother
Pretty soft actually - I have some vids of me petting Hank and Sam where you can see how much they love a pet - after a few minutes they are just like a fluffy pillow :)
I would put Jackie with Hank and see what happens. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to prevent her from breeding. You can always send me the eggs lol I’ll hatch them for you or something.
@@hanks_backyard yes they have been breeding. Nip, Biscuit and Tuck are still a trio like last year. They chase Eggy away and sometimes Butters. But, Butter did breed with both females some last year and expect the same this year.

Jackie actually wanted back in with the boys last night - so I let her back in. Are your Emus still in breeding mode, ie., chasing each other around?
