Thanks Mark! Love it... do you have a plan or template with measurements for the platform? Thanks, ron

Great video. I think you did an excellent job walking through your build process. One question for you: when you are fully loaded for a trip. Tent, gear, food, fuel and water and etc. How close to GV weight are you? Thanks.

What did you do with the bolts that stick up in the back from the rear seatbelts? Do they get removed from the bottom of the frame or did you cut them out?

Great video series and a nice design. The only thing I would have done different is that I would have used counter sink bolts to bolt it down, this way nothing could get snagged as you slide it across the top.

Paul, you raise a good point that I didn't talk about in the video. I thought about this as well when I built the 1st platform in 2014 but after further thought, I felt that I wanted as much hold down strength as possible! I believe tapered countersink bolts on the platform hold down points would pull through to easy and or weaken it by separating the plywood layers.
I find that if I get any catching or snagging its on the strap tracks in the center area of the platform, not the bolts themselves. I added the aluminum strips primarily for strength as well, reduced wear and tear is a bonus. Thank you for the great feedback, Mark

Why the battery in the back and not a dual battery system under the hood? I’m curious of your reasoning.

We have three batteries. I have a Playlist on our Power Systems. ua-cam.com/play/PLWb1VYyU70aV6eKySnuGYzMrPytqlHdzc.html
The playlist is very detailed as well. We have one more video to add in the near future... Mark

Hey Mark, I live in Vancouver and all T-nuts I can find here are those with the 3 sharp right-angle bent prongs to "bite" in the plywood. Where did you get yours (with the holes in the base plate) and is there any special name they are referred as? Thanks...

Beautiful work! I’m bummed I didn’t find your channel sooner, even more bummed you’re not still making videos. You have a great method of instruction and cover important/useful topics.

Looks great! Very impressed with the front storage. Any reason you decided not to take advantage of possible storage in the back area?
