- "Love Walks In" is a power ballad by Van Halen that was released in July, 1986 as the third single from the band's seventh studio album, 5150. It was the first song the band wrote with vocalist Sammy Hagar, peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart, and reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Sammy’s guitar and voice. Wowowowowow.
Eddie looks very satisfied with Sammy's guitar playing.
Sam's solo is absolutely awesome!
Thank you God, for letting us borrow Eddie. We loved him and he loved us back. His eyes, his smiles....all the Van Halen memories we'll keep forever. ❤
Amen to that. 😌
Yes. a beautiful muisicians.the best.
Amen
Miss you Ed 😭💔
and Sammy as well ✌🏻🫶🏻
The Red Rocker took Van Halen to a whole different level !
Sammy tried to sign on with kansas when Steve Walsh retired.
The LEGENDS - Sammy and Eddie, what a dynamic duo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all 4 - Alex and Michael ....
INCREDIBLE Together 😮
Eddie's look when Sammy is playing the guitar solo for him ... admiration and gratitude (2:49). Such a beautiful thing.
man, Eddie and Mikes backing vocals are so locked in and iconic.
It`s fucking awesome!!
I've really enjoyed going back in time listening to all their songs. Reading everyone's comments is like reading a love story that doesn't ever want to end.❤
Miss you so much Eddie. 😢
Sammy is the perfect Singer and Ed is the perfect guitar man.❤❤❤
My wife asks me why I like Hager over DLR and I show her this. One is a front man the other is a singer.
DLR is being rushed to emergency after this shot! 👍...
Love both eras but you are absolutely correct 👍
Hagar could sing ANY Roth era song - the reverse isn't true.
DLR is a money fixed snake
Well said
Truly a supergroup.....no band could ever hope to match this level of talent.
I am an opened mind rush fan. Yes I like this version of van Halen. 5150 is a great album. This Van Halen may be the 4 man band but Rush is the best 3 man band.
Rush-great music but corny lyrics, just absolutely corny lyrics
@@johnspeer2257 spirit radio has god tier lyrics. Youre crazy.
@@theshapeexists OF SALESMEN!!! How dumb
@@johnspeer2257 context and meaning are key. You don't seem to understand either. How dumb
Right time
Right musicians
Right sound
This is the song that tells
You sense a change and love comes walking in....
Yes. That ooo, ooo, ooo chorus- I feel transcendent
True rock red rocker
Sammy was a upgrade as a singer!! Great song and band!!
This is why I always give the nod to Sammy in the Sammy Vs DLR debate, he is hands down a better singer and he brought that 2nd guitar to the act and he co-wrote some great songs with Eddie.
I just miss this
Great song and a great version. The band sounded especially amazing during this concert for MTV. I saw Best of Both Worlds during MTV's live broadcast from the beginning when Sammy and Eddie are trading vocal/guitar licks before the song starts. Amazing.
I liked Van Halen in the Roth era but I didn't love 'em. Now there were some good hit songs but Roth's antics and vocals gave an instrumentally excellent band the look and sound of a party band. I was thrilled when Hagar joined the band. Hagar's vocals and song writing transformed that party band into a very sophisticated rock act.
100% man, I love a ton of songs of the early era but I can't help but feel that Eddie was the one carrying everything, when Haggar stepped in, it felt like all the pieces were finally there, Antony's bg vocals are at their best with Haggar, Alex nails accentuating all of the changes, Eddie not only became a guitar god at this point, but his songwriting became god level too, VH with Haggar was the best era musically, creatively and lyrically
If you watch carefully in the beginning, you will see Sammy signaling the sound guys to raise the level for possibly Eddie, and then give the the thumbs up. Pretty much a complete professional.
Love eddies smile after sams solo...just magic
Best version with Sammy in the guitar!
I've been listening to Sammy since the mid 70s with Montrose, this song explains why.
I've loved many Van Halen songs, but this song is always special to me.
Lucky to have seen them with Sammy!!!!! Phenomenal performance!!!!!!❤😢
Purest Musician so many different instruments RIP EVH!
Eddie’s up there playing ‘Hot for Teacher’ for the Big Guy and his angel dudes and they’re loving it! 😊😊 We miss you man.
Thanks to whoever edited this to make it high definition. Now if someone could do the same thing to the 1983 US Festival now we are talking
@@bobwalton4630 If you find me a good copy, I'll see what I can do
What a beautiful song, Van Halen rocks!
Almost went to this show back in 86 VH was an awesome band live 💯👍
Hagar pulls off a damn good Ed impersonation on that guitar
Not even close but okay
While it’s not Eddie playing the solo, it was pretty damn good!!
Even did some tapping on the solo.
4:23 EVH nod of approval on guitar solo. Miss you Ed you are my generations Mozart .
What an awesome career Sammy has had!!
A beautifully written ballad.
I am learning today that Sammy can play guitar, this make him perfect
you are decades too late 😂😂
@Why_U_Geh yes you're totally right hahaha
Sammy can play guitar well. He's just not lucky to join the same group with the guitarist monster, Ronnie Montrose and Eddie Van Halen.
Watching these in 4K brings back some fond memories, sub'd.
The best music in American history
Love you Sammy... Im so glad you are healthy and doing well, my friend. 💕🔥🎸🎸
This is perfect. Hated when they decided to switch to pre recorded keyboards. Let Sammy play and EVH doe keyboards….it was awesome.
100%
INCREDIBLE Live performance of this song...the BEST 😮
most excellent!!!!
Its great to see them all smiling and having a great time. Alex and Eddie near the end. Love this song. Listened to this album front to back when I was 13, this and Master of Puppets.
@j-sin3344 It’s funny you say that, because those 2 albums were released just 3 weeks apart. Metallica released Master of Puppets on March 3, 1986 and Van Halen released 5150 on March 24, 1986. That was one hell of a month for the rock and heavy metal world!!
Seen Van Halen in the late 70's. Always been an Eddie fan and never a Dave fan! He was just a weirdo and still is! Sammy's voice is just better and so is his guitar playin! This song amongst others after Sammy showed up are still my favs!
God, I wish I was born in the 60’s
What a delight! Excellent!!
damn sammy on guitar is kinda awesome!! NICEEE!!
Beautiful
I like both Van Halen and Van Hagar.
Damn I had forgotten how good this was. F'n EXCELLENT
My favorite song no wait
I can't decide ❤
This is such an awesome song!
It’s not just the picture, the sound is awesome too. Doing God’s work my man. ==VH==
My daughter heard so much van halen growing up she named her daughter halen
Im 68 yo, still awesome, my music in my prime !!
It only got better when Sammy joined eh ?!?!? … listen FOREVER !! Eddie is ETERNAL !! … I’m 55 in 2024 and I LOVE the Hagar era !!!
VAN HAGAR - MTV fans LOVED THEm .. GREAT JOB C.F. LIVE 1986 20 minutes from my house TICKETS sold out instantly . I didn't jion the local ticket club till i got married in 1992
Awesome!!!!❤
I think they could of started and ended after this performance GOOD NIGHT THANK YOU FOR COMING OUT ONE SONG SEE YAH
Time just makes this even better...they had magic with this album (and arguably OU812), then I dunno...did EVH want to take over all guitar live again? He looked happy here sharing the spotlight - what a talent. And that goes for the whole band, they were united. Sammy's amazing.
I miss the ‘80s…
Goosebumps.
Great song! thanks!!!
É o milagre da música .❤❤❤❤
Lots of memories good ones
Ok I love the first 6 VH albums… but that’s freaking Awesome
To my master, I become a slave....
So many happy people.
Lindo demais!! 😍😍❤❤
Is this song about Alien Abduction?
I wonder, One of the greatest bands ever
Best Regards to all this Holiday Season, what a trip all that was,
It better not be, showing love with a probe.
Love walked into my life and 35 years we are still together!!!!!!!
@michaelJ415 This song is indeed about alien abduction. Sammy Hagar says he was abducted by aliens on 3 separate occasions. I guess you could say the song uses alien abduction as a metaphor for love.
Sammy tapping!❤❤❤❤
Eternos grandes
How come you couldn't do this with "Diamond Dave"? Ohhhh, because he couldn't play guitar or sing!
Back in the day, me and my band did a very good cover of this song. Honestly not THIS good but respectable. Only one Van Halen, especially with Sammy out front which promps me to say, "Dave who?" And to think, Eddie is now gone, damn.........
😢
Ima need that 13minute solo superscaled to 4k please 😂
nice pulls of the strings
❤❤❤❤
Great job 🎉💢💫🎆
I've always wondered why VH abandoned the idea of Sammy playing guitar on VH songs during live shows after this tour.
Because they didn't like him being the focus. All about ego.
4ever love for Eddie!!
Van Halen formed in my pre-teens and the vintage stuff is pretty good. Then they jumped onto the pop music band wagon with 1984 which was my Junior year in HS. It was bubble gum music though.
Then Sammy Hagar came onboard and he brought a sophistication to their music that they never had prior to that. They went from making simple head bangin music with a specific appeal; to a level of sophistication that transformed most genres. They wrote and performed great music with Hagar that was far and beyond anything they had done prior to Hagar. This is a great song....
I didnt know Sammy was hitting the solo on this one😮
Sammy rippin!!!
Lindíssima,!
I just like Van Halen with Sammy. The lyrics were so much better, the music was better. It's a shame they split. I think they could have really had more huge hits.
Eddie Van Halen Always Loved, Never Forgotten, Forever Miissed
R.I.P. YOUR Music Will last forever Eddie
Que pérola de banda !!!😅 I love you
Peak Van Halen.
Be at peace my brother Eddie 🦅🪶fly with the eagles
is there a full concert in 4K format?
Get "Showtunes Dave" to that, dlr lovers...
God damn Eddie was a total bad ass
Eddie was deep . I know that feeling.
never heard Roth play a guitar like that.or sing for that matter!
There's only one Eddie Van Halen of course.
❤5150❤MASTERPIECE ❤FOR THE REST OF TIMES❤❤
I wish I could find out what pickup Sammy had in that guitar. To me it sounds better than Eddie's Kramer
😍😍😍
Eddie is gone. Man I'm getting old.
I’m 54 and was in 9th grade when this song and the 5150 was released.
Eddie, mike, sammy and Alex the best in rock ever
❤❤WITH SAM,HIGHER POWER❤❤VH IN THE STARS ❤❤❤NUMBER OBE IN 1986❤❤
I agree with Brian Hall...Hagar is WAY BETTER than Roth. I've seen many videos of Roth LIVE & boy does he suck live. He really does.
❤❤THE BEST❤❤❤
