@@ThatHawksSimp Honestly it would probably be cheaper, easier and more reliable to take your car (or buy one) and get it to an auto-shop that does custom modifications like that and just have it done that way :D

I really think for stuff like this, there should be a thing where if you make a bid over x amount of dollars, you should be required to pay a somewhat sizeable deposit that will then be kept if you don't actually follow through with what you promise

i think the issue with that is if they're stolen cc's then you'd end up taking someone else's money and involuntarily got involved in some kind of scam.
i feel like now i kind of understand why some charities have management fees, service charge, or something like that, cuz they probably have to deal with these kinds of bs all the time...
At the very least there should be a 10-20% hold on that, so they would've had to actually send $50k minimum to be considered as a real bid.
at least a stronger verification for bids above a certain amount lol. surely they can provide like an income statement or something to a moderator if they're not a known figure
@@sayo2434 Where I live local charities require you to verify with your social security number, so they can check whether the credit card is actually your's (bank has this info, but it's not written on the credit card anywhere, so even if it is stolen the payment won't go through or the bid won't be registered). Not sure, but some charities also inform the bank that the credit card was stolen so the bank can freeze the account and notify the card's owner (and some charities notify the authorities too if there is any way the thief can be tracked down)

It might all be one person or a few people. i know someone used my credit number to donate to porn streamers on some porn site and i obviously took that back. so that girl must think i donate some huge number to her to do some awful thing and then took the money back but it was just a hacker with my credit card number.
And its illegal too iirc, it counts as fraudaulent.

Here’s the way I see it, if you can donate fantastic it goes to for the cause.
If you can’t donate, just promote and tell people of the event to who can donate or watch the event.
There’s no reason to being an inconsiderate waste of air because you get off wanting to troll.

Wtf... that's the weirdest thing to send hate for. I agree, as someone who can't really donate (disability + uni don't go well with holding a job, and the minimal wage for part time makes any price in dollars not that cheap), but I'll definitely will be watching the auction, because that's the least I can do to help

That's the unfortunate part about charities that bring in a lot of money. Some people hate GDQ because they ask for donations, but they've raised over 100 million dollars for charities. Just because they lock things behind dono walls doesn't mean that it has to be hit. But it is hype when people get excited to give money to charity to get additional things

Some people are so broken inside that sabotaging a charity auction is funny to them. Just checked the bids today and they seem legit and active. At least more people are seeing it and are donating like actual sane people rather than committing fraud for 15 mins anonymous of fame.

I'd wondered what was happening with this. Appreciate the measured response to it - Of course, I know now it all got sorted in the end and the charity event was a huge success.
The fact that there were millionaire streamers who were streaming this and sending fake bids is so disgusting. They could have donated the 500K and not break their bank. But they were still fake bids. They were just donating for attention from Pokimaine
I would caution against believing that any content creator was making false donations, as I think it’s relatively easy to impersonate someone on Tiltify. Correct me if I’m wrong though, and if it has been independently verified that content creators were really making false donations.

Seeing all the trolls trying to sabotage the Charity event in real time was disheartening. I'm glad Tiltify swiftly removed most of the trolls so that actual bidders can have a fair auction on an item they want. Even though the main auction items are put up for a crazy amount, I'm happy that all of it is going to charity. The people putting in the bids are very kind-hearted and hard-working individuals. I'm glad I can also donate my money by buying merch and sending money directly to the charity fund.

This is sad. Is there no need to bank identification using cards in America? Here in Norway, we have a BankID app, which we need to approve the transaction with, and then use our own password as well before anything is even approved.
This should be mandatory for events like these, in my opinion.

Maybe use a service which holds the amount user entered to check if real if not delete bid etc. seen many auction sites do this. If person doesn’t have in account at bid then it checks and dels to show a honest bidding. Same way wall-mart check if you have hundreds to buy or a car dealer. Solves. Lot of issues.
with a normal purchase that would make sense but if you place a hold on a bid then you are reducing the amount in their account before the auction is over so they can't place another bid. think like this I have 60,000 that I'm willing to bid and I bid 30,000 on an item now because of a hold I only have 30,000 left and if someone bids 30,100 I can't participate in the back in forth that's required for auctions to increase in price.
