Lyrics: An old Elf went travelling on her Saber from afar 'Twas many wanes of the moon since her journey did start She rode to a Temple, where a bright flower bloomed And her heart felt the weight of the wound, and the tears of Elune. She followed a light that shone bright in the sky Never before had she seen such a twinkling up high A vessel that caused all the Nether to shake And the demons to pause in it's wake, and they were afraid. Then a woman spoke, she said "have no fear," "I was bitten in anger", though her eyes showed no tears Half wolf yet half human, she could not distinguish her years And suddenly the saddest voices...filled the air And they went... ahhh Deep ran the streams and the woods... where Darnassus stood Those suffering voices went trembling through the ground They travelled as far as the snowy Icecrown Where a King sat alone on a frozen throne And the eyes of the dead burned so bright Through Winter nights And just before dawn when the Nether is nigh The old Elf looked on with a tear in her eye Such beauty and sadness had not passed her by And suddenly the echoes of war...filled the shores And they went... ahhh She wept o'er the ruins she saw...of Theramore And she went... ahhh All the beauty and all of the loss...of Azeroth The whole world is waiting to hear the songs once more There are thousands of stories; what are heroes for? Oh your journey will take you across the world And you will see all the beauty and loss...of Azeroth
I’m not a fan of World of Warcraft, but being a fan of Chris de Burgh, I loved it. As always, your voice and music bring people to the brink of tears. I hope this song will be available to be bought.
It's rare that a song just leaves me sitting here, staring out into nothing, no thoughts in my mind.. just the song. That honestly took me by suprise, but in the best of ways! I've been a fan of Warcraft since the old days of WC1 and 2, played WoW for 13 years.. left shortly after the end of Legion. But this song.. this song really took me by the hand and walked down memory lane. Granted I wasn't an old Elf, but an old Troll. A really beautiful song and I'm really glad I stumbled upon this one!
I have played WoW since the beginning. Few things made me cry. Sharm, you hit 3 of them: Ysera's death, the burning og Teldrassil and the tragedy at Theramore. And with the use of Chris de Burgh's song (which I also love very much), you made another masterpiece. Keep up the superb work. Peace out from Denmark.
this old orc has seen many enemies fall many comrades fall... become a mighty hero of the horde and azeroth... toppled kingdoms and powerful armies said to be the end of azeroth even killed gods... what a long and crazy journey it has been.....
Oh my gosh, thanks, Sharm. It reminds me both of my time playing WoW (and Final Fantasy XI) and the "Spaceman" song, sung by Karliene. Was *not* expecting the nostalgia to hit so hard. Again, thank you.
This was amazing, Sharm. So I was listening to "I need a Healer" for you the other day when I thought you can make a song about tanks to the tune of "Where has all the Cowboys gone?" Just a suggestion. I love your wow parody, they make the highlight of any of my days.
good day Sharm, Thank you for what you do, I hope life still finds you well, and you are able to continue doing what you love! your voice and songs, bring my wife and I so much joy, and are often how we relive the stress, of our unfulfilling jobs, we loe to listen to you as we play wow, to forget about the work week. keep up the awesome work!
@@sharmsong My beautiful wife has since passed away, since I wrote this comment. I know longer play wow. but hope you are still well, and doing what you love.
Oh my, soo many emotions I felt while listening to this, your work is really good but this one was breathing !!!!! gave me a bit of those good daughter of the see vibes near the end. Soooo good sharm !!!!!!!!
Someone better resurrect me if I die before Sharm actually manages to make a bad song, because so far so all of her songs have been so amazing it's unreal. P.S Just wow because of this song, just -wow-.
Lyrics:
An old Elf went travelling on her Saber from afar
'Twas many wanes of the moon since her journey did start
She rode to a Temple, where a bright flower bloomed
And her heart felt the weight of the wound, and the tears of Elune.
She followed a light that shone bright in the sky
Never before had she seen such a twinkling up high
A vessel that caused all the Nether to shake
And the demons to pause in it's wake, and they were afraid.
Then a woman spoke, she said "have no fear,"
"I was bitten in anger", though her eyes showed no tears
Half wolf yet half human, she could not distinguish her years
And suddenly the saddest voices...filled the air
And they went... ahhh
Deep ran the streams and the woods... where Darnassus stood
Those suffering voices went trembling through the ground
They travelled as far as the snowy Icecrown
Where a King sat alone on a frozen throne
And the eyes of the dead burned so bright
Through Winter nights
And just before dawn when the Nether is nigh
The old Elf looked on with a tear in her eye
Such beauty and sadness had not passed her by
And suddenly the echoes of war...filled the shores
And they went... ahhh
She wept o'er the ruins she saw...of Theramore
And she went... ahhh
All the beauty and all of the loss...of Azeroth
The whole world is waiting to hear the songs once more
There are thousands of stories; what are heroes for?
Oh your journey will take you across the world
And you will see all the beauty and loss...of Azeroth
