If you don’t have a heated cap you could use a hot towel. Pop a towel in the dryer and wrap it around your head with the cap

For hair growth you need to really saturate the scalp, not just the ends. Put a couple drops of essential oil in the mix to have a great smell.

For the first 8 months of the initial deep condition challenge I lived in an underdeveloped country in Asia. I had no STORE BOUGHT options, literally. I made EVERYTHING from DIY recipes. I was successful in starting and maintaining my curly hair journey/routine in that situation. So NO MORE EXCUSES!!!
I would love to see you come out with a mini series of DIY recipes for the curly girl method. If so, please rely on heavily olive oil because in all our travels abroad it has always been available in store or market. It is budget friendly and so accessable.

    Aloe vera treatments are great!
I already have everything, including aloe vera that I grow at home. I use one or more carrier oils (jojoba, coconut, sweet almond, etc) add a few drops of one or more essential oils to mask the fresh aloe smell and for their beneficial properties.
I also use aloe vera as a gel for slick ponytails and buns and to help with flyaways.

I'm using this mask for 2 years... And it really does magic to my hair..... There is another mask which is so good for kinky curly hair, I want to share : grab 2 cups of coconut milk and add 2 table spoon of organic honey..... Blend them..... Use it to the sculp to ur ends of hair and keep it for 30 minutes.... Then shampoo and conditioner ur hair... Voilà u have shiny, smooth, soft and silky bouncy curls now.... Try it girls.... It really works amazing to the hair.... U can use it as a moisturising mask for any type of hair....

I have just started the deep conditioning challenge two days ago after starting the routine of washing my hair once a week instead of every two or three weeks. I already see a big difference as I have a dry scalp that causes slight to moderate dandruff if not taken care of. I have already committed to the big chop challenge as I big chopped in 2016 and 2018. I also committed to the no heat challenge this year too. I can't wait to show you the results Ms. Bianca.☺

Your videos on deep conditioning got me to doing it once a week. I did have a silicone-free hair mask at home, but I'd use it around bi-weekly if I was lucky. However I just eventually gave in, bought a good quality Shea Moisture Masque (they're expensive in my country) and stuck to using it once a week on schedule. TOTALLY worth it! The jar is so freaking massive its probably going to last me the entire year despite using it weekly, and investing in a hair mask is the best thing you can do. Don't sleep on weekly deep conditioning. Even if you have to DIY it, do it, because you WILL see a change

Hey Bianca, thanks again for a very good video. I use aloe juice as I don't have access to whole leaves in my town in Germany. As I am a straight hair girl and most of my hair friends are wavy or loose curled I mix the aloe and oils with a hint of deep conditioners to spice them up. It gives this extra hydration and the emulsifiers in the deep conditioner help to blend the oils with the aloe and to get the oils out again as we would look greasy with all the oils in. I love the results 😊

You could just use a turbie twist or t-shirt over the shower cap to insulate everything and trap the heat. Works for me.

Maui moisture hair maks are pretty affordable, you can even get them buy one get one 50% off at walgreens. At Burlington you can find cheap masks with good ingredients every now & then. When I say cheap I mean $5

I do one with coconut oil. The thing about coconut oil is that after it cools, it turns a bit solid (of course you have to heat it with the aloe Vera). When you want to apply it on your hair you have to do a hot water tub in which you put the oil for it to melt, then you put it on your hair

To help with the oil separation, you can try to wait to add the oil until you already have the aloe processing so that it emulsifies. I can't guarantee it would work since I've never tried it, but it wouldn't hurt to try :)

So you're saying to process the Aloe Vera 1st then add the oil of your choice ?
