This expansion adds the ability to control mechanoids, raise children, and modify your colonists’ genes. Build a family by bearing, raising and teaching children to become good adults. Take control of mechanoids and build a swarm of mechanical servants and warriors. Interact with new gene-modded factions, survive in new polluted biomes, and modify yourselves to survive. Become a vampire and chase the red thirst.

@@RealSkoolmaster Don't even remember when I started, but I do remember searching for mods on the forums for A11, 12 and 13. But I dunno if I got into modding from the get go.
A11 - I remember when they added pets and relationships (where relationships were basically just shared beds and little chat bubbles) and thinking "WOW, here's a leap forward I never would've expected/asked for!" Even B13, with allowing off-map travel, absolutely blew me away. Fast forward a few years and every DLC to come out has introduced a new framework that a.) I never would have predicted and b.) has transformed the way that I look at this game.
Back in A11 I really thought it was going to be another "here's-your-tile-now-just-fill-it-with-shit" game like most city builders, sim-games and colony management games are. The depth of the stories that can be told is truly impressive.

Straight up! For such a relatively simple-looking game the voice acting, editing and music really brings it to a whole other level!
For me it was hearing the vampires actor, the woman sounded like Nika Futterman to me.
Gotta love a voice that sounds so much like asajj ventress lol

@@pablolacerda1331 Most players don't even know there's a lore-primer in the game menu. Having content exist in the universe and having it exist in an actual playable space are very different things.

2) Send them as presents to any hostile factions.
They are no longer your problem, and if you are lucky - they will come in future raids, and you will be able to loot whatever they are addicted to from them.

Bought Rimworld in 2014. Since then, my life was never stable enough to buy the DLCs, and Base + Mods are still the game I've played most in the last ten years.

Rimworld became my favorite game after The Sims, and it's so exciting to watch the game evolve and expand into something so much greater and deeper. This is super exciting can't wait to get out of work to play this expansion.

I bought Biotech the second I got the steam alert saying that it was available, and let me say I’m having tons of fun with it already! Even with some of the mods not being updated there is still already lots of content that vanilla can stand on its own without mods. Bravo Tynan and Ludeon Studios, you have done a tremendous job!

This game set a standart for all colony builders that will ever exist. This is the CoD, Battlefield, GTA. This is the origin of a genre that never existed before. Amazing work and it keeps getting better.
You forget that this game in itself is a copy of dwarf fortress, another colony sim.
So no, it's not the origin of the genre, but a great addition nontheless.

honestly always wondered why stuff like controlling mechs and having kids were not already in the game, THIS IS AWESOME the added ability customize your pawns more is nice too

God I love this game. It's come so far, and all of the new content just keeps on slapping. This game has gone from being my little antfarm to run while I do mundane stuff to a genuine simulator of what would happen in this lovely hypothetical scenario where the universe evolves and devolves in several cycles/branches at once. I'm super grateful to have found it.
Im so hyped, I wanna do a generational playthrough!

Rimworld is one of my all-time favorite games. Thanks Tynan and everyone else involved. Now that I remember, I think there was a Kotaku article back in 2016 where the author had some crazy naked cannibal doctor and I knew I had to have this game.

This feature is amazing! Thanks Tynan for producing such content like this when you can create your own family of colonist by having children, making mechanoids, and manipulating and drinking blood to become powerful. All three of these are a dream goal that everyone wants in this DLC right now.

Cool DLC's and I'm generally extremely impressed with how far the game has come as well as the work ethic of Ludeon. Only thing I hope for in the future is more interplay between the DLC's.

I understand i may not get a response, but I was wondering if there was any updates on bringing biotech to console? I saw that there would be a 4th DLC but PS4 still hasn’t gotten biotech, so i got curious.

Gotta say I'm not too hype for the sub-species from how I understand them pre-launch. I'd prefer if all gene mods were random on pawn spawns but I've got a debit card and I'm willing to hear you out on this.
And even if it isn't within our liking, a mod will likely come out within a few months that makes the gene mods random on pawn spawns instead of having set sub-species.
@@bobthebox2993 Keeping my fingers crossed for a mod thar toggles children ON / OFF. Either that or I'll freaking sterilise my colonists so they can't breed. I don't particularly feel like watching kids die onscreen in my game.
And I bet you that kids dying ingame will be the newest and most traumatising event to affect many players.

Understandable. I paid for all the previous DLC but this one is especially pricey and we are currently in a recession. I think it's going to be the only option for many people.
Quite honestly one of the best DLCs of all time. The fact that there's enough content alone in this one that your typical AAA studio would ship as 3 individual DLCs is astounding. We need more studios like Ludeon.
Long time RimWorld fan. I'm really loving the console version where I can watch my pawns from the comfort of my bed after a long day in the construction industry. I want to voice my support for getting this DLC to console!! Thank you for the best game I've ever played.
