It's a very brutal DLC, from what I've seen.
It has a lot of interesting dilemmas.
Do you dedicate manpower to deal with the corpses post raid?
Or do you care for all of the wounded and bring in the harvest?
There's always the risk that a cloud of deadlife dust will bring back that horde of dead bugs out front.
How soon do you prioritize hydroponics? Or do you gamble on there being no blood rain before the colony has a big enough food reserve?
But what about if you're hit by a volcanic winter, solar flare, and flesh-pit in quick succession?
And with the tantrums building up, the anomalies rattling their chains, eager for freedom, for revenge, the food spoiling, do you chance it?
Do you hope that you have enough men, guns, meds, food, hope, to clear the meat-caves, and not go crazy first?
So many choices. The equation of survival grows ever more complex, even beyond the horror, and I LOVE IT. Getting Anomaly for my birthday tomorrow. Cheers.
I'm hoping for a more multi-functional DLC next time, something like Biotech and Ideology, that is always on, rather than the occasional terror-treat, like Anomaly.
Something hopefully that touches on inter-faction diplomacy, quests, travel, trade, maybe even Z-levels. Or multiplayer sometime in the future.
My hopes are shared by many other players in the community as well. Fan since 2017, bought the game in 2018. Thank you to you and your team for a real gem.

it's really clear that modding has had a massive influence on the direction that rimworld took with it's development. However, Tynan decided to ramp the production quality far beyond what any of the mods it took inspiration from ever had, and then the community builds on top of the absolute skyscraper Tynan has built with mods to even further enhance the game. It's truly insane how far rimworld has gotten from it's inception, from even just a couple years ago
It's a beautiful symbiosis.
You mean Tynan ripped off the work of countless modmakers, uncredited, and make rediculous amount of money from it.
If you think im overreacting. Royalty dlc had 7 uncredited implementations of already existing mods. When confronted about it, he banned all those on the steam & own website until it became obscure information.

@@dedvi what I meant by "big" is not popularity. Its the sheer scale of content, mechanics and depth this game has. It is already way too big by the third DLC. This one just tripled that.
@@bickblakkok well I’m not sure we can say for now wether the content has been tripled since the dlc just came out but I definitely agree that content wise the game is definitely one of the biggest ones. Especially when you consider the mods as well

Tynan as over 3k play I thank you for this game, new effects especially awesome.
So i wanna start off with congratulating you and the team with the launch of anomaly. If its anything like your previous DLC's, we'll be in for a treat! One thing that's been on my mind however is if you plan on overhauling the worldmap system at some point? I feel like it should play a way bigger role than it currently does, I think in large part because of the risk involved with sending out your best fighters to caravan.
Now i don't know if the solution is to give advanced warning of raids, have raids be less likely when youre out caravaning, vehichles to speed up caravaning or just completely overhauling the worldmap alltogether, but I do feel some work is needed, especially with how developed some other parts of the game are at this point.
Please don't see this as anything but constructive critisism. I'm just curious and hoping to pick you and the teams brain a bit.
Most importantly, thank you for all your hard work over the years. I've clocked close to 1500 hours on this game by now. From broke college student with a pirated copy of the game (sorry), to having bought all the DLC's. Rimworld has brought me so many fond memories over the years.
Ps. Maybe a way to differentiate between fertelized eggs that are gestating and eggs that have been ruined by temperature. I feel bad turning my soon to be baby chicks into simple meals by accident.
You could send a noble with a shuttle with the caravan or use long range psi jump.
Other then that, yes you have to fight with what you have left or call in allies. 😮
