Makalu Base Camp Trek

Makalu base camp trekking is one of the diverse trekking destinations of Nepal. Adventure trek to Makalu, which gives the flavor of various other treks in one.

Our Itinerary (we trek around 7/8 hours each day):
Day 1: Kathmandu to Hile(via Bus)
Day 2: Hile to Khandbari(via four-wheel drive)
Day 3: Khandbari to Num to Seduwa(via four-wheel drive)
Day 4: Seduwa to Tashi Gaon
Day 5: Tashi Gaon to Khongma
Day 6: Khongma to Dobato
Day 7: Dobato to Thematan to Yangle Kharka
Day 8: Yangle Kharka to Langmale to Makalu Base Camp
Day 9: Makalu viewpoint
Day 10: Makalu Base Camp to Yangle Kharka to Thematan
Day 11: Thematan to Dobato to Khongma to Tashi Goan to Seduwa
Day 12: Seduwa to Num to Khandbari(from Num we took four wheel drive to Khandbari)
Day 13: Khandbari to Kathmandu(via bus 12-13 hrs drive)

Thanks, tea houses are ok. We did not take sleeping bags or mat but if trekking in the tourist season it's better to take it. only a few tea houses after Tashi gaon.

Thank you, up to Num, you can get four-wheel drive but roads are really bad.

Hey there , I am looking forward to do this trek this year in the month of September and October and I have a few questions for you.
1.Where to get the permit for this trek ? I heard about a office in Seduwa is it true. What are the charges or the permit fees.?
2. How to reach Num from Itahari? Will I be able to reach there in a day?

Please refer to www.taan.org.np/pages/trekking-permit-fees for a permit. You can get bus from Itahari to Dhankuta- Hile from Hile four-wheel-drive till Khadbari - Num.

How much and what time for the bus ?
And what time for the bus from Khandbari to Kathmandu ?

We took microbus from Koteshwor at around 5 am in the morning and we reached Hile around 4 pm. We booked the microbus, a week ahead from the Saptakoshi A/C Hiace ticket booking counter.

You can take Deluxe Bus from Khatmandu to Dharan and another Bus from Dharan To Hile
