  • Chances are you are often the victim of "stop loss hunting" - one of the favorite manipulation tactics used by smart money players. In this video, I'll reveal the dirty secrets of how stop loss hunting works, as well as sharing the antidote that will protect you from these predatory manipulation attempts.
Stop loss hunting relies on the manipulators' ability to see retail traders' order flow and position sizes. They know that once enough small retail traders have open positions, all it takes is a sudden push in the opposite direction to trigger a cascade of stop losses. This liquidity burst allows the smart money to turn the tables and reverse the market right back where it came from.
Thankfully, there are many techniques to fight market manipulation. We'll look at some alternative strategies to protect profits without being stopped out of winning positions. Most importantly, identifying when the manipulators are actively hunting stops will help you avoid their traps altogether.

I've noticed there's often an opposite and greater move when a stock breaks a structure but then re-enters it. If it breaks down out of a structure but then goes back into the structure, it will often then break above the structure by a larger amount, and vice versa.

This weekend I've been trying to decipher my biggest lost and it simply comes down to understanding liquidity grabs. The reason I commented on this is because statistically from what I've been back testing this is true a vast majority of the time (don't know the percentage off the top of my head)

Put my stops far away and would still make my stop the low of the day. I do not use any stops now, what is the real purpose of them anyway? if you cannot make a decision as to when to get out and the will power to get out, then you have no business in the market. I take what the day gives or takes and make my decisions that last 30 min of the market. ( swing Trading )
Why use a stop? who tells you to use a stop? I use limit orders to get in and out.

Me too. I don't use stop loss anymore, my strategy is simple, I only sell when the market is overbought and in monthly highs and buy when the market is oversold. I also don't trade Breakouts or well-known patterns. I prefer waiting for economic news releases and a specific time before opening a position, just like the eurusd pair. I noticed around 2pm gmt+8 time zone, it often drop and audusd often climb during 8am gmt+8 time zone.

@@samuelgebrebrhan8775 Look at the Audusd pair around 8 am GMT+8 it tends to rise most of the time. And right now, 2 pm GMT+8 Philippine standard time eurusd pair is dropping but I won't trade this time because there are many major economic news to be released from Europe at 3 and US PPI is also to be released this night.
      Just wanna avoid being whipsawed.

When i was new this happened to me often and i dont need to tell yous just how frustrating it is to see your stop getting hit , it goes down for say 5 more pips then it rebounds and goes in the intended direction robbing you of nice tidy profits - it is categorically the most irritating and frustrating thing you will ever experience as a trader and no amount of psychology training will combat the frustration and anger you feel when it happens to you. I went through at least 5 keyboards in my first year of trading because of it and now i use mental stops haha !

He's a professional and I found that and odd statement. Thanks for a year of good videos. I took a beating this year but I think I have finally figured it out. I use a few indicators and watch price and I get 100% of my information from the CHART I'M READING. Period. I noticed when I stopped following news, I started making more money and my accuracy increased almost immediately.

Thanks again for the inside scoop my friend. Very valuable psychological insight shared on your channel!
IT's really the most simplistic logic if you really think about it.
Modern day traders use almost exclusively, these technical setups which have become commonly agreed upon by the trading community. The big boys(the guys with the money that move markets), know this as well, and therefore constantly set these traps for these other 'very trusting' retail traders. And why not? It only makes sense since otherwise this game would be FAR TOO EASY to make sense right?!

Those are whipsaw liquidation events most likely coming from the actual exchanges and not from any such big players or whales! the exchanges know the stop loss orders and their liquidation prices. Exchanges are the ones benefiting not whales! I have watched it in realtime and many times I even tested it out by moving my stop loss around and watched it reach out like a frogs tongue after the stop loss areas grab it and go right back and continue up super fast lol you have to spot or wait for these whipsaw events to happen then you enter just another part of the game you need to learn with all the rest especially with leverage trading
