  • A melting glacier caused a deluge of water that swept through the Swiss resort town of Zermatt on one of the hottest days of the year.
Instagram user Gulnazi izimova posted a number of videos showing a torrent of gray water racing through a stream in the town, while locals and tourists watched from behind police tape. The stream reportedly burst its banks in some spots.
"When I first heard noise from the flood I was working in my apartment, and my kids were on a walk outside with my nanny. So the first thought as a mother of two kids that I had was, 'Where are the kids right now'," Izimova told Reuters, adding she rushed out and saw people were filming the sight. (Reuters)

I was there in Zermatt with my mother for a vacation some years ago. To see all those places overflowing with rapid water and stone boulders is shocking. We are witnesses to climate change. Those eho phoo phooed it should explain why unprecedented rains are happening across the globe and flooding becoming common🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️
