There is something so decadent about roasting a whole chicken and the feeling of accomplishment you feel when it is done. So inexpensive, delicious and comforting.

I am married to a very very picky eater. Cooking for him over the years has been an exercise in frustration for me. Especially since I am a vegetarian with celiac disease. He would not typically eat what I fix. He has been getting takeout or frozen meals for most of his meals until recently. Inflation is absolutely killing us so I have tried to start cooking for him again. I can cook but I haven’t ever really cooked what he likes to call “regular” food. Cooking 2 separate meals all the time is EXHAUSTING. Your videos are so helpful and your meals are simple and fast. He has liked almost every single thing I’ve tried from your suggestions which is amazing because he turns up his nose at almost everything

That is basically how I make my dumplings, sometimes add a touch of cream, sour cream, or cream cheese if I need it used up to make it creamier. I also used to use the Cream of Chicken with Herbs and it gives it such a great flavor. Even my picky eater prefers it over just the regular Cream of Chicken. Alas, it gives me incredible heartburn so we don't use it anymore typically. But I would definitely recommend trying that one!

A1 on a baked potato is the best!!
I wanted to try and spatchcock our thanksgiving turkey but I’m pregnant with twins and my tummy is kinda sensitive right now with raw meats n such and I just couldn’t do it 😂 (also I have that same roasting pan, she’s the backbone to our thanksgivings! 😂 ) the meal you prepared with the roasted chicken looked so delicious and soul warming! Everytime I make chicken and dumplings,
    I use this dumpling recipe:
-2 cups all purpose flour mixed with 1 teaspoon salt
    -3/4 ice water
-Put flour/salt mixture in a mixing bowl. Beginning in center of flour, dribble a small amount of ice water. Work mixture with fingers from center of bowl to sides of bowl, incorporating small amounts of water at a time. Continue until all flour is used up. Batter will feel as if it is going to be tough. Knead dough and form into ball. Dust a good amount of flour onto dough board and rolling pin. Roll out dough, working from center. Dough will be firm. Roll to 1/8 inch thinness. Let it air-dry for a minute or two while you return your attention to the boiling pot at the point at which you add the canned soup to the chicken mixture. Cut dumplings into 1-inch strips. Working with one strip at a time, hold strip over pot, pull it in half, and drop into the boiling stock. Remember, do not stir after dumplings have been added to pot.
(From paula deens website) I don’t typically follow this full recipe, just the dumpling part , these are cheap dumplings to make since they are just water, flour and i season them with black pepper) also if you haven’t tried the Shrimp, Grits and gravy recipe on her website i HIGHLY RECOMMEND it, it’s delicious and very filling !

I never saw a method like this of dropping the meat into the boiled liquid to cook. Honestly, the best way to make chili is to brown the meat first then add your vegetables and your sauces. This way you get a delicious taste of the meat that will give out some caramelization..Plus, it just makes more sense and adds more flavor.

Same my husband is super picky. He won't touch things such as ranch or Mac n cheese unless it's from a 5 star restaurant. It's so frustrating! He'll eat it when it's prepared by a 5 star chef but not me.

The chili reminds me of the Skyline Chili in Ohio

They sell ground rosemary but it tastes like dust🤢
I like to finely mince dried herbs so the texture isn't as noticeable, or I'll use fresh herbs and tie them up in cheesecloth so the flavor infuses into the dish.
