This could be what my 2000 Sebring jxi needs, have been dealing with issues for months. I've replaced the spark plugs, wires, distributor hub+cap, valve cover gaskets, EGR valve, plenum gasket, fuel pump and filter, and my Sebring still has this weird but nasty misfire/loss of power/stalling issue...
The car runs fine when it's cold but once it gets to operating temp, it starts to misfire when idling. If the misfire is rough, the car loses power/acceleration and jerks around severely misfiring until it finally stalls out. Will sometimes knock right before losing power and stalling. The engine won't run right until it cools, and then it runs perfectly fine until it idles at operating temp for more than 5 seconds. Have driven it over an hour on the highway from a cold start, and it ran fine but stalled out when I got into my driveway. In an emergency, I'll shift the car into neutral at a light and slightly hit the gas to avoid idling, and the car will run fine like that.
Have checked for vacuum leaks and the cylinder compression is fine. Two mechanics have worked on it and are stumped. Only have 68k miles on it and love the car! Going to try and replace the CPS and see if that fixes the issue
