    On the one hand - great: a flying car, a speeder from Star Wars, the future. On the other hand - a nightmare: another source of noise because some asshole rents an exclusive toy on the beach to young and rich people who don't give a damn about resting with their children and flies over their heads with this overgrown hive of hornets.

    Personally I think Jetson is an incredible product, however it’s most potential mostly lies in sports (most interesting would be racing or aerobatics)., and even there it’d need at least 40min - 1 hr flight time. To be fully successful on any other market on top of flight time it needs better carrying capacity. Wish you guys all the luck, I’m sure you have incredible future.

    SWEET SWEET ride - maximum 20 minute flight time though - max weight of 220 pounds AND a WAITING TIME OF ONE YEAR - if you are lucky.
    This NEEDS to be 45-60 minute flight time up to 250 pounds AND MAXIMUM 1 month waiting time - and the price needs to be HALF - INSTANT WORLDWIDE SUCCESS
    The factory capacity is about 24-30 deliveries pr year - that`s just too little to make it attractive to any serious investors.

      Just like an old and gorgeous Boeing 737-200 or the sexy 727-100, with those large and slim engines. But nowadays? Unless you live next to the airport, we can barely hear airplanes taking off and don’t hear them at all when landing. There is always a way of taking care of that problem, it’s just acoustics. A gigantic drone with a seat won’t be a big deal. @@918_xDx

    I'm enthused, but also concerned. There's no provision for auto-rotation, so what happens when there is a failure (either due to component failure or bird-strike)? Electrics do have fewer failure modes, but failures do occur. SO what happens to the pilot when there is a failure that leads to reduced (or no) lift?

    Can it glide via autorotation like a helicopter? Cause otherwise it seems to me it has all the same safety concerns as jet packs - it can fly high enough to cause death or permanent injury should it fall, but too low for parachutes to be effective. Also no wings means no gliding capability should the motors fail.

    • @magnetmannenbannanen

    • @DrewMarold
      @DrewMarold 11 місяців тому +1

      Autorotation requires the ability to change the pitch of the rotors. This, and all the other eVTOL aircraft out there are basically glorified drones, with fixed pitch props. Attitude control is by varying the speed of the different motors, so if you had a complete power failure you would drop like a rock.
