Informative video for visitors arriving at BKK. One note is that the currency exchange places close to the train entrance in the basement have better rates than the exchange places in the main terminal. Some have basically the same rate at exchange places in central Bangkok. I've stayed at the ParkRoyal Suites (recently renovated, spacious, washer/dryer, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, stove, and sink) which is right around the corner from the Novotel. It's much shorter and faster to walk down Soi 6 (at the East end of Nana Station (and there's an elevator on that side of the street for those with large luggage)) which bends and runs into Soi 4 right at the Novotel.
Reminds me of that movie, you know...Planes, Trains, and Automobiles...One day we will have invented the technology to allow the viewer to experience the weather.
Welcome back and as always a beautiful sharing adventure documentary updated .. appreciate your efforts and hard work for sharing such an amazing job .. thanks again and stay safe my friend
There is Novotel right next to Siam BTS station I think its much more convenince cause its just a very short distance from the station.Around there you can find anything within walking distance.
OMG! All that walking. You should check out the hotel I stay at evey time i go to Bangkok. It's the On8 Sukhumvit hotel (called that because it's by the corner of Sukhumvit and Soi 8), and when you walk down the steps out of Nana BTS the entrance is right there next to the station, literally! The rooms are really comfortable, walk in shower, etc. for about $50 a night, and that includes a cooked breakfast, fresh fruit, tea and coffee station, etc. Best value in town!
Loved the POV! You do a great job I'm gonna have to binge watch the rest of your videos! Your friend, Dae? has the same birthday as me he must be awesome lol
The Airport rail link and the BTS in Thailand are always jam packed, no matter what time it is. This is because they are owned by private individuals. Optimum profits are the ultimate priority for them, sadly the government cannot force them to add on more carriages. Therefore the service is always crowded no matter what time you use them.
@@KopWolf13 thanks for that info. I was already excited but it doesn’t take so much longer than the express so i guess that’s ok and still better than taxis which sometimes refuse to use the meters
Yeah as another user pointed out sadly there's no exoress train anymore. With more than 1 person I'll usually just take a cab and split it but I wanted to make a video so the train it was.
Surprised at the amount of english and latin characters on signs and station announcements on the metro. Was expecting Thai to be the predominent language with just minimalist english.
Interesting choice on staying in such a noisy neighborhood near Nana Plaza. The street is always so busy there as well. I would had picked a more peaceful area for a hotel.
Sukhumvit is the most visited area for a reason... you can't beat the convenience or hotel selection. I've stayed all over Bangkok in the past but lately convenience is king IMO since I"m only ever there a few days at a time anymore.
There are a lot of young female westerners of various colours living in Bangkok too. Their number one reason is living in the west has become such a rip-off.
I understand you did the train option for the video but the two of you couldve easily shared a taxi from the airport to the hotel for not more than 250 baht each.
We could have.. if you go at the wrong time of day just getting off the highway into Sukhumvit can take 30 minutes of not moving in traffic. Still if it weren't for the video I'd have done just that lol
So its best to go to PHAYA THAI INSTEAD OF MAKASSAN STATION to reach sukhumvit? And then you took a BTS to NANA after reaching phaya thai? DO you do the same if you want to go back to Suvarnabhumi airport from sukhumvit which is taking a bts to nana and then from nana to Airport directly?
All that hassle and sitting on a packed train full of people to save 300 baht. Just get a grab taxi 450 baht air-conditioned car straight to my hotel door. Unless you are a bacpacker on a budget fair enough. Thanks
Excellent content! And check out the new firmware for OP3 which kills the crackling noise of DJI mic 2 during Lives.
Thank you! And it's about time.. I just upgraded the firmware on both of mine and will test it out next stream, thanks!
Welcome back to Thailand 🤗😊🫰❤️🎉🎊🇹🇭

Greetings from the Northeast Thailand!
Johnny! I’ve been loving your travel series, your quips are so entertaining. Can’t wait to see more!
Good morning
Your friend is camera shy 😅
There is Novotel right next to Siam BTS station I think its much more convenince cause its just a very short distance from the station.Around there you can find anything within walking distance.
Also a Novotel at Ploen Chit BTS, the stop before Nana. And it's right there when you go down to street level so no need to walk as far from the BTS.
Yes is convenient using railink bts frm Airport to city center sukhumvit area
Thanks for the train rides. I admire your patience. There have been a lot of delays during this trip.
Welcome to Bangkok, the Land of Smile 😃 😅...have a great time...
Hi Johnny, Enjoy your trip. 😸😸😸😸
Excellent video series Johnny. Also looking at Bangkok there seems to be more white Europeans there than in Toronto.
Australians too. 😊
Большое спасибо, Джонни за видео! Виртуальное путешествие с тобой - это релакс для души! Продолжай радовать своими фильмами. 😘👍🏻
great that someone s doing this video

It looks solid, but for me no rooftop pool to cool down at (and help get over jet lag the first few days) in Bangkok is a deal-breaker.
@@JohnnyStrides which hotel would you recommend coming from airport with a pool on the roof!? I plan to go to Bangkok, also coming from Toronto.
Loved the POV! You do a great job I'm gonna have to binge watch the rest of your videos! Your friend, Dae? has the same birthday as me he must be awesome lol
Excellent n experience already ❤❤
This vdo is helpful for people don't want to take a taxi.

Good Video
👍👍👍👍 Thank you so much😍
ประเทศไทยยินดีต้อนรับครับเที่ยวให้สนุกนะครับ
Thank you so much for the info I’m planning to go there next month 👍
You can do this from Donmueang International Airport to Bangkok City Center as well.
Thanks mate good information
Before hua mak station, a train from the express line passed by. This probably means that they’re operating again? It was closed for a while
Unfortunately there is no express line anymore the express train you see now operate as one of the city line train.
@@KopWolf13 thanks for that info. I was already excited but it doesn’t take so much longer than the express so i guess that’s ok and still better than taxis which sometimes refuse to use the meters

Thanks. But you forget to say which BTS line you took. Green line I suppose? And are you really sure about the ticket machines dont take cards?
Hello sir watching from Dhaka Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Suvarnabhumi > ARL(Suvarnabhumi) > ARL(Makkasan) > MRT(Petchaburi) > MRT(Sukhumvit)
Shorter than BTS 👍
Wollcom to Thailand 🎉🎉🎉 enjoying for holidays ❤❤
Great to see he didn't do a runner!
Nice 🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️👍👍🥰🎉🎉
Great detailed video, we loved it ! Is Nana the nearest station to Sukhumvit and how far is Sukhumvit from Nana Station?
thanks for the video, Johnny. do travelers need to carry their passports all the time, in thailand?
They're supposed to but I just have a picture of it on my phone and leave the passport in the hotel safe.
@@JohnnyStrides, thanks a lot.

Dang bro. I have a travel recommendation in thailand, you can go to chiang mai, that is there I currently am 👍
Hi gny well comnto thailand 😊
Welcome to BKK. ครับ
Interesting you see a lot of western older men going to Thailand or walking the streets in Bangkok.
There are a lot of young female westerners of various colours living in Bangkok too. Their number one reason is living in the west has become such a rip-off.
I mis bangkok

You can actually take either route, I prefer this way since the BTS is closer to my hotel than the Metro at Asok.
Great video ..as many thanks you for sharing It AND...nex Time invite also a lady.. they the other part of everything.
Cool, tap a chip.
Why the video so small!!!
Welcome to Happyland😂😂😂
