A note on Coca leaf, Cocaine and Coca-Cola: Coca leaf is a natural product that is grown and used all over South America. It does give you a boost of energy. Cocaine is made from Coca leaf but the difference between chewing on coca leaf and taking cocaine is like the difference between drinking coffee and drinking 100% pure caffeine. Coca-Cola still to this day uses Coca leaf extract (cocaine removed).
Coke is also the only company allowed by the US to import coca leaf. The leaves are processed into extract, which goes to Coke, and cocaine, which is sent to a pharma company

It’s 1ml of a c2.5l sugar mix, which in turn is then diluted by 5x. Based on the measuring jug, it looked like roughly 500ml of the botanical mix. So that means that it would make approximately 6,250 litres of coke. A can of coke is 250ml (in the U.K. - because of sugar tax). So that’s 25,000 cans of coke. Assuming a can of coke is £1 (it’s slightly more in reality). If you could shift enough weight, which with the added cocaine you definitely wouldn’t struggle, then you could make a tidy profit.
The alcohol agent is just to mix the flavoring. It's less than .3 ml per liter in the Coke formula Jolly are making. Hardly enough to say there's a significant alcohol content.
Actually with the smallest bottle of essential oil they have , they can make 4x Mechandise 7x. which is about 1L. which in turn can make 800L of Coke. Which in turn can make 2000 cans of Coke! If my calculation is not wrong, it is actually cheaper than a can of coke!
actually with this amount of 150 pounds for 800L is +-3x times less that what i would need to pay for store bought cola in Poland which would cost 400 pounds.
@Yulee Be Me however we do need to take into account the sugar etc that still needs to be added so the total cost would be more than 150 pounds if they wanted to use it all and make the most amount of coke they could. but it probably would still be cheaper. however if you take into account the gas bill, water bill, and electricity bill for mixing, melting and storing this, and you add the pans they will surely ruin, and containers to keep their cokes it might be more expensive again. however if you cooked on induction or something else that uses electricity instead of gas and you have solar panels it would definitely be cheaper again.
@@Maritotten ultimately a can of what they made is cheaper than a can of actual coca cola, otherwise coca cola wouldn't make any profits. Extra costs are added to the price of the drink for the manufacturing process, but the company is able to increase their profit margin by being able to efficiently produce large quantities with their machinery and bulk purchases of ingredients whereas the cost of manufacturing large amounts at home would start to become more expensive than buying it.
@@Roflmao6173 yes indeed, that's exactly what my point was. The reason 95% is the strongest they could find is because of complicated chemistry stuff, where anything above 95% alcohol actually has a lower boiling point than 95%. This means it cannot be distilled normally (i.e. by boiling it in distillation apparatus)
One of the things that has shocked me is that in foreign countries it's difficult to find pure alcohol. Here in Italy you can find 96° alcohol without any particular problem so it was interesting to hear that.

In all fairness, anytime ollie says “i honestly am not making this up”, I wholeheartedly believe him.
"You can't reasonably measure less than 0.25 of a ml."
Me, a microbiologist who pipettes 0.1 ul (0.0001 ml) daily: EXCUUUUUUSE ME
Lol, true. Though probably not with the equipment they could acces without spending a lot more money 😂
Well, you can. But Josh still can't. ;)
Well they WERE using a syringe 😅
Don't confuse people by writing "ul", instead of the correct "µl". It's microliter, not "ultraliter".
@@Henrik46 well it’s not like you have that in your regular phone keyboard lol
Brilliant. Glad you found some joy in this! Did you ever hear of Crystal Pepsi? Cola flavor but clear carbonated liquid. You made it!
me: *studying for an exam*
jolly: h-
me: wELL JOLLY IT IS
Good luck on the exam!
Same omg😭
samee
Good luck fellow iKonic! ♥♥♥
Same, good luck fellow student
I had always imagined Ollie as a mad scientist given his personality. My suspicions have been confirmed and I like this lol.
I love how calm Ollie was with the fire
Allso, there is a thin line between mad and genius, and Ollie is boldly treading it all of his existance and deserves a standing ovation for it!! 💐💐💐
Me being from Poland: "why am I not really surprised that the strongest alcohol they could find was polish?"
Much better idea than using Ouzo or Absinthe, that's for sure.
Those poles know how to party!
The reason 95% is the strongest they could find is because of complicated chemistry stuff, where anything above 95% alcohol actually has a lower boiling point than 95%. This means it cannot be distilled normally (i.e. by boiling it in distillation apparatus)
Właśnie to samo sobie pomyślałam 🤣🤣🤣
Pomyślałem to samo. I though the same thing lmao
One of the things that has shocked me is that in foreign countries it's difficult to find pure alcohol. Here in Italy you can find 96° alcohol without any particular problem so it was interesting to hear that.
“Or as I like to call them when Lizzie buys candles - non-essential oils” -Ollie
5:22 Oh no! Ollie looks like a slightly deranged scientist...
If they asked someone to try that coke after he made that face they would think Olly tried to poison them
Slightly?
"So this is basically sugar water mixed with a tiny amount of poison"- Josh 2021
Me: so that's why I never liked coca cola
@크리스 my whole family really likes it and it just tastes like sugar and I mean if you like it I have no right to judge but it's really not it😅
I have quite a serious reaction coke. Enough to potentially put me in hospital. I don't think I'm missing anything lol
@@katyb2793 trust me you arent missing anything. If you by any chance become curious just eat sugar and drink some water
@@abrartaj1508 🤣 I'll stick to tea 🍵
@@katyb2793 same🤝
This was amazing! Also Josh’s hat is amazing
I'm surprised that room has survived soo much
my thoughts EXACTLY and all that cooking on a wooden table?!? my mum would kill me
Coke should change their slogan: Get your daily dose of essential oils in a can of Coke
Now Dr Mike can say that Essential oils don't cure anything
Ollie is the type of person who when something bad happens can promote his merch in a way
“What gives it that colour? I thought we used everything in the recipe.”
Not everything Josh...not everything.
😂
HOW DID YOU DO THAT! THE STICKER!! 😂😂😂
@@123-yoyo3 you get them with the membership I think
👀👀
@@123-yoyo3 yeah I’m a Jolly member so I get a bunch of stickers 😂 they’re fun to mess with
If one of them knocked the essential oil mix over:
"NOOOO, THAT WAS LIKE 40 POUNDS."
5:39 i died as soon as Ollie said "Okay thats the cocaine" i love every Jolly episode
6:39 AHAHA 'wait, how much coke do you want to make?' Ollie...
I have came here faster than they could say JOLLY
Same
no one asked but it’s only until 1:55 when they said “JOLLY” (don’t quote me on that)
@@chicgeek8698 F
So fast that you failed at using correct grammar .
@@maddie045 You're not fast but failed at using the correct grammar.
I was half expecting them tasting the product and Ollie just goes, "Tastes like Pepsi."
This was by far the most interesting show yet! I absolutely loved it. 🌹🌺🌹
This made me realize why clear coke made so much sense. It's literally just coke minus the caramel coloring, so coke with less steps.
I just love how serious Ollie is while Josh keeps saying *"WHAT?" "HOW?" "WHY?"*
WE NEED MORE CRACK THE CODE STUFF! Ollie might be a freakin' modern age evil genius.
Hope he doesn't learn how to crack safes! 😂
Disaster: [Happens]
Ollie: This looks like the perfect chance to do some marketing
this was SO INTERESTING i rly want to see Josh and Ollie showing the homemade cola to people and asking them to try telling the difference with store bought coca cola!!!
How do you use that emoji?
@@zoop5853 be a member of the channel
Please make more videos creating original drinks. Its brilliant, by far my favorite
I still can't believe ollie prepared a lot of content on this channel while hiding the Josh-unknown-autobiography project 😂😂😂
Ollie is a beast a kraken if you will with his tentacles all in multiple projects at once.
I remembered that I introduced a friend to KoreanEnglishman and she said I like Ollie but he's just the camera man and I just lost it. I have since sent her EVERY SINGLE VIDEO he produces
why is it that whenever Ollie says, "these were insanely expensive" Josh goes like, "WHAAAT?! "... man, just get used to it 😂
Wow totally didn’t expect the end results too. This is a good experiment! 👍🏻
“If you want detail, and professionalism - which is not what you’re getting today -“ 😂
"He mustve just been BUZZIN when he had a coke"
He was but not because of the caffeine ill tell you that much
This experiment(al) is amazing! 😂😅. Love you guys so much!🤘
Who needs therapist when we have Josh and Ollie right here giving us so many contents
Okay definitely going to buy Jolly merch to put out fire. Noted, Ollie.
There needs to be a follow up videos to this. We want to see your friends and more ppl taste test this.
I missed Ollie and Josh so much... there isn’t anyone who makes content and has the same sense of humour as them
If you substituted the 5 parts water with soda water, the taste would likely be identical. You could cook up the entire batch and distribute it to fans/ friends! We could call this spinoff of breaking bad "Jolly Good"
They did use soda water. That was why it fizzed up a bit.
8:40 looks like they secretly added the “coke” in.
How cool would it be to do a blindfolded taste test with friends and let them guess what they are drinking and what it looks like? This was hilarious. You are a trooper Ollie!
My initial thought was....wasn’t there narcotics in the original recipe?! Terrified
Yep
@@carlyalakija4703 Nope. The original recipe was made as a cure for addiction to narcotics - it has a lot of stimulants though!
More of this please!
"that is the strongest alcohol you could buy"
Me seeing polish on tag: :') proud of my heritage
Ahhh same :')
Me too 😉🇵🇱
We have one to match you here in America. It's actually banned in some states and countries because it's known to burn holes inside the digestive track and throat. lol. Everclear is a brand name of rectified spirit produced by the American company Luxco. depending on which one you get, it ranges from 75% to 95% alcohol. I've had it twice. Ever hear, see and smell colors? Well, Everclear can help you with that. lol
Lol yesss
