This is an awesome tip, thanks alot! I'm usually a fan of light and few coats, so trying to hit the right shade of filler is always a thing for me. But there are also some colors that don't turn out as "true" as they should and strangely become a touch too dark even with an accordingly mixed greyish filler underneath. With some of these (even premium coverage basecoat), you can't go with the lightest shade of grey filler, but they totally require a plain white undercoat to hit their proper tone and max. brilliance. Like a yellow Vauxhall i did once required a complete stage of white in first place or some lime greens (i.e. Kawasaki) need a plain white base underneath. Nice to see you being back in the shed again!
Thanks for your comments, it is true that some of the specialist effect colours and high opacity transparent colours and tinted clears require the correct procedure without exception but you get to know them. This tip is a generic get you out of jail, 8 out of 10 approach
Well spotted yes i have put a new 3m air filter system on the wall as extra to my original system and dryer plus changed my airlines. I had two jobs back to back with silicon issues so i flushed the compressor tank with thinners changed all the filters and hoses and as an extra measure the new filter system all is well again. I hate fish eyes
