I was a young trainee tennis coach at Hail Barns Tennis club when Colin Bell my absolute idol turned up for a lesson. He was simply fantastic at Tennis and even with the knee injury he was so fast, truely a great great man. and so charming and polite. Rest in peace Colin, you will always be the best for me.
I went to Maine Rd about 1976 with the Junior blues and I remember seeing Colin hoping up and down the Maine Stand steps trying to build up the strength, there used to be gym under the Maine stand,

I’m a Sunderland supporter Colin Bell was from just a few miles down the coast and he’s one of my heroes. I always thought he was a fantastic footballer and seemed a very humble man.
When I was a junior blue , Roy put a bandage on my calf after I cut it at platt Lane. It was 1977 and I was 8 . He was so nice , its something my memories treasure. CTID
I remember as a kid sat on the white wall at the front of the Kippax at the start of the 80's when roy used to run on the pitch with his little magic bag to treat the players he was rapid 😆

Great to hear that they did everything they could to help Colin. I got to see him play in 1978 against QPR where he scored.

Made me smile when Roy said Colin bell was good at other sports as well. was Roy once physio for England as well as city's phisio?
Interesting to Roy say how bad a tackle it was.I worked in the mid 80s for a sports shop and the Puma rep was Martin Buchan😬😬😬😬
