Today we are going to put a certain Saturday Night Live host's ship against a Klingon K'vort.
This Cardassian ship quite well armed for it's size.

This is definitely a Cardassian design; it looks like a bottle opener customized for kanar.

Yes, Cardassian vessels do look like fish, and their weapons are weak. That's why the Dominion demoted them in favor of the Breen.😀
Their weapons are potent but lack sufficient recharge for follow-up shots. Their ship hulls are comparable to Star Fleets' vessels. Their shield and targeting at stand-off distances make them very vulnerable. They're handicapped at long-range targeting, a priority when engaging more powerful vessels. And their ships lack the power to efficiently reinforce the shields, something vital in close range.
Swarming attacks like the Wolf Pack of old (multiple vessels of the same class) employing Blitzkrieg tactics are necessary for most Cardassian ships, regardless of class, to succeed in battle.
That said, they did show some unique defensive abilities. Their ability to disrupt Star Fleet's longe-rang targeting gave them enough time to close the gap between their ships and Star Fleets, where their above-average spiral wave disruptor damage could be utilized to its fullest.
After the initial exchange, a competent Cardassian captain should remain outside the opposing vessel's more powerful weapon range and engage in defensive maneuvers instead of pressing any advantage they may have had. During this time, any attached vessels would continue the engagement and mimic the same tactic-hit and run, the Highland way.
Still, even with decent shields, the Cardassian vessels need more sophistication to produce an efficient power plant. This is the number one reason they are considered below-average threats individually.
1:16 It's probably both. Cardassian weapons suck, but the K'vort was the Klingon equivalent to, like, an Ambassador-class ship. They're no pushovers.
The Kvort is a solid medium cruiser for the Klingons. The Kamal is doing well for its size.
Cardassian Tadpole might be a better name!
Klingons have used the cloaking device in battle. In the Episode of DS9 where the Klingons accused Worf of destroying an unarmed transport. He was dealing with a BoP that kept cloaking, decloaking to attack and cloaking again. Trying to determine it's pattern.

So why do some ships like the cardassians have or like the defiant have nacels integrated into the hull while many other ships have them precariously positioned away from the ship mounted on paper-thin pilons?
I'm not sure what game the Kamal is from. But it seems too small to be a cruiser. Maybe a destroyer.
Well if the lore was accurate, and it was actually helmed by him, the captain would marry one of the duras sisters and sell out the empire to the romulans, while giving q a run for his money on how much he mugged for the camera, and then got surprised with how many times riker decked him each week, like a stone cold steve austin promo back in the day
So yeah, not a fan of the man, and his girlfriend was worse, like she really was one of the durass sisters in real life, best thing that ever happened to her, was when Greg the bunny, peed in her seat, or she got decked in that Bencio Del Toro film back in the day lol

I have to say that the AI is screwed you on this one, because there's no way at the distance you were from the kavort that when it self-destructed that somehow you were going to blow up. You were just too far away and that was a bunch of BS

I think the Cardassians weapons were weaker. At least until they sided with the Dominion. Then they got a major boost.

I laughed when you got destroyed after destroying the BOP. I think you were too close and with your shields as weak as they were I was not surprised by that one.
I too am surprised the Cardassian ship was able to win both times.

I can almost hear Chief O'Brien exclaiming, "Bloody Cardies finally came up with something effective." I was pretty surprised myself because a Bird-of-Prey with a rear torpedo tube should be pretty darned difficult to take down.
Also Why is the BOP in flight mode and not Fight mode? You did not win because you did not have the BOP in fight mode, and never fired your torpedos.
The cardassian ship needs to have a new nickname. Naming it after Jimmy Kimmel is an insult. I suggest "the camel". The camel is durable just like this ship.
I am sorry but the BOP would hace kicked that horrible little fish out if sea way back to what ever plabet it cane from. Also your videos woukd be so much better if you just don't talk. I am sorry but you can be very annoying and childish sometimes. I love watching them but not the talking while your fighting. I like the intro talk do but no more hood morning or that. Different times zones so different for everyone and as its UA-cam the videos can be watched at any time in the day or night.
4:41 I mean, we know the Klingon's curb stomped the Cardassians in the invasion in DS9, so I think that really is probably as close to a Cardassian victory as you'd be likely to get in canon.
