There’s a show called “Leah Remini: Scientology and the aftermath” and it’s mind boggling how this “church” works…
so good and scary, its on Hulu now since netflix took it off
I've watched every episode, and I feel I a rabbit hole on this topic for a little bit. I don't like any religion, but Scientology takes the cake!
She also has gone on Joe Rogan!!
Aaron (the guy with the only suppressive dog lol) has a youtube channel called Growing up in Scientology. It's super interesting the content he posts
Really amazing show
Fight, flight, freeze, or… fawn. “Fawn” is trying to placate or appease the other person to deescalate the situation or reduce the chance of getting hurt. It’s finally getting more attention as a trauma response and seems applicable to many SA cases.
Tbh, even if you haven’t heard of “fawn” before, you probably already have an idea of what that might look like. We recognize, “okay, I’ll do X, please don’t hurt me,” well enough as a response to a threat that it’s practically a trope in pop culture. It’s just that in real life, we don’t always say the, “please don’t hurt me,” part out loud.
Funny, that sounds like the same responses people have to a bad boss!
Freeze pretty much encompasses all of that.
thank you for posting this.. if i didn't find FAWN in the comments i was going to add it!
@@lemonz1769 not exactly. Freeze is a shut down (often not able to talk or move), where fawn can still look functional on the outside. Both are survival strategies.
@@lemonz1769 No, it doesn't. Freezing is exactly that. Doing nothing. Fawn/appease looks like going out of your way to please them. From the outside it can look like you're actually consenting, but your "consent" has been coerced.
Once I took a Meyer Briggs personality test and then it asked for my email to send me the results... suddenly the freaking Scientology church was calling me and emailing me trying to make me pay thousands for courses... This is in Norway, the Norwegian section of the "church". Had to block them and all their freaking numbers and emails...
That wasn't the Meyer Briggs test which has nothing to do with Scientology. The test you took is called the "Oxford Capacity Analysis", and yes it has nothing to do with Oxford university, Scientology just threw that in to make it appear to be legit.
@@d.-_-.b yes I know this now, but I was like just learning about these damn letters and wanted to find out what mine were so just googled personality letters test or something 😂. Now I know it's called meyer briggs
As a side note, the MBTI test is also largely bunk science. It was created by two mystery novelists who had no significant formal education in medicine of any kind. If you want a real personality test that psychologists generally recognize as legitimate, you want The Big 5. MBTI is the new-age, scienced-up version of astrology; it can be a fun little thing to participate in once in a while, but putting too much stock in it is unhealthy and irrational.
FS And F DM
@KrisHe1 Did they tell you your M-B type? LoL
I am a man, I was raped and I realized what happened a while after the fact.... Freezing is for sure a response that I tend to fall into.
I am so sorry, bro, but for you to go through something That horrible, and still be able to carry on and talk about it. That's amazing, you're incredible.
I am so sorry that you had to endure rape. But I am so happy that you are alive and are able to state what happened to you. You did what you had to do to survive.
You should have a period after the word “man”. That’s a complete sentence.
@@breezywriter6572 your point is what exactly? Is it not understandable? Where did you get the idea that English is my first language or that I care about writing correct English? :-)
I don't care about writing correct: Danish, English or Chinese. I care about being understood. 你懂了吗?
I see you. I'm so sorry that happened. I froze when I was SA'd too. For me, it was like I was outside my body screaming at myself to do something but I couldn't. It wasn't your fault hon. ❤️
Elizabeth Moss was also raised in the church. And like you, I was CRUSHED when I found out she was a member 😕
Almost every celebrity is in this cult.
One of the first things you learn in Scientology is the Training Routines. The one called Bullbaiting puts you in a chair facing another person. You must keep a straight face for 2 hours straight, not even a twitch, or you are Flunked and you have to start all over. The other person is allowed to say the most horrendous, vile things, scream at you, even touch you, even though touching is supposed to be off limits, and you can't move at all. This goes on for hours, days, and weeks on end until you have no reaction to the trauma being thrown at you. This is just the beginning of the abuse. The true depravity and abuse runs deep.
Glad you covered this. It's sad and amazing what you can get away with, by manipulating our judicial system.
I have been watching this story closely since 2021 with the preliminary hearings, and I cannot believe charges were filed, because of the known facts of this case: How about the fact that Jane Doe 3 invited Masterson over to her place MONTHS after they broke up, and months after the alleged SA, and had consensual sex with him? How about the fact that Jane Doe 3 moved to New York months after that, and invited Masterson out to meet her New Friends, then went back to his hotel room and had consensual sex again? WOULD ANY SA VICTIM EVER DO THAT? Of course not. How about how one of the other accusers NEVER MENTIONED a gun in any story or report, then suddenly mentions it after a different accuser said he had a gun? Look: He may be found guilty, because he should have had a Female Attorney cross examine these accusers, but Masterson is Not Guilty. By the way: I went to a Catholic Grade School and a Catholic High School, and I know nothing about Scientology.
@@wildmercuryfilms I was sexually abused by my uncle when I was 5 or 6 years old … I never told my mother til I was a teenager. She was surprised by said my uncle always been a little “crazy” … sometime later even this uncle acknowledged in front of another of my uncles and cousins how He Taught Me How to jerk off !!! Everyone thought it was funny … this was during the early 90s. I never reported my uncle to the police … I know several male friends that had similar stories from their own relatives. Nevertheless I grew up around my uncle , been to his house to visit him and his family.
This dude is spamming the fuck out of every video that has to do with this topic. I feel like Scientology allegedly, is at play or someone is very very into that 70s show and can't deal with this. Allegedly allegedly allegedly.
@@kelleybeen517. Ha. I have never even watched one full episode of That ‘70’s Show. Better Call Saul is more up my alley. Also: I was born and raised Catholic and know very little about Scientology: All that I’ve learned about it was through this trial. It seems like a pretty whacked out religion, but they all are, essentially.
@@wildmercuryfilms You really should educate yourself on how victims respond.
To add to the fear responses, there is a 4th known as Fawn, where people basically try to console and bargain and flatter the person threatening them in order to avoid harm. Think like when a dog gets in trouble, and you catch them, and they roll over for belly rubs. This in no way changes the fact that rape is still rape. "Agreeing" under duress is not really agreeing.
I often think of the fawn reaction as the victim in an abusive relationship, the hyper alertness where they are constantly on edge regarding the abusers state of mind, continuously trying to read their body language and attend to their needs to avoid some kind of blow up.
Exactly, you're not in a position to disagree
💯
That seems like a convenient excuse for people not being truthful, almost as if we live in a society where consent can be revoked 20 years later, o wait!
Likening yourself to a dog?
The scary thing about this kind of stuff is remembering the fact that so many people can seem so cool and nice on the surface but have this evil side on the inside.

There's also other options. The full spectrum is fight, flight, freeze, appease/fawn or faint.
Dr. Kirk Honda of psychology in Seattle has explained it all many times in his videos and podcast. It's quite enlightening to learn that there are more options, and they are all valid, and none of them mean that you agreed to what was happening.

For clarification at 14:00, the names listed were a "wish list." Walt Disney was not affiliated with Scientology.
yes! sorry if that wasn't clear
I've read books and done very deep dives into Scientology, and there's a lot there that really needs to be known to the public. One note I want to make is when someone is labeled a SP, they are deemed evil to Scientology... But most importantly to any family (including children, which are typically handed over to the cult to be raised "communally" by specific caretakers anyways) and friends still in the cult. The SP label ruins entire lives and any ties to humanity a person might have before. Anything can mark you a SP if Scientology deems you a threat. They will also call workplaces, housing, neighbors, ANYONE that you try to associate with to continue to bring you down to make sure you never speak up against them. There are entire units who control private detectives dedicated only to this, 24/7. That is what scares people. Scientology has a LOT of money due to their tax exemption as a "church" by the IRS (which is rooted in scandal and blackmail typical of this cult), and they continue to make their members pay for newer and newer buildings to put their money into assets to continue their "church" lie that they're giving back to the community. Most, if not all, of those massive, luxurious buildings are nearly empty. Scientology doesn't want you do know that they have so few members. But the few that they have are very powerful. FUCK David Miscavige.
If you want more info, Mike Rinder's "A Billion Years: My Escape from a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology" just came out this last September and it's a very powerful book detailing the surreal and horrifying life of Mike Rinder who was on one of those units that was in charge of ruining people's lives. Scientology's original founder has a rule that they still follow: Never defend, always attack. And they attack hard.
Also check out "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath" Mike does with good friend and post-scientology actor Leah Remini, or just read about The Hole & Lisa McPherson. The entire story is so gripping and there are so many brave people that deserve to have their story honored and the bullying and criminal acts of the organization need to end!! 🖕🖕🖕 Thank you so much for making this video, even out of fear of this cult! The world needs to show they they can't be bullied into silence while people suffer because of David Miscavige and the evil people he protects.
I watched some of the Leah Rimini series - it is SO INSANE. It's honestly so sad and terrifying - and yes, FUCK David Miscavige.
If you haven’t check out the channel growing up in Scientology - Aaron smith-levin who was in the first season of aftermath answers some questions and also interviews people who grew up in Scientology and escaped about their stories.
Going Clear on HBO is another good one.

Who knew learning the definitions of assualt and rape after being victimized can change your view about it, after your rapists has been emotionally abusing you for years
Also just the fact that SA is so traumatic, the brain can try to convince you that it wasn't assault as a form of protection.
Double whammy if that person has been raised to normalize violent and abusive behavior.

I am still so surprised the jury is even deadlocked on this thing. For anyone interested that doesn't know much about Scientology, there is a special episode of Leah Remini's Aftermath show where they talk about how widespread and common assault cases are in the church and one of Masterson's former girlfriends speaks during it (it may have been more than one, it's been a while since I watched it). They go over the other ways the church suppresses those types of things from being reported. Masterson's case is pretty interesting and the victims' testimonies even more compelling when you see all the ways they really nip things like that in the bud before someone ever says anything inflammatory. For someone to have multiple, known, accusations is not common at all.
@@wildmercuryfilms perhaps learning more about Scientology will answer some of your questions.
In the Leah Remini series which was made a while ago they said they estimate that there are only about 30K scientologists world wide. I would imagine that would be smaller by now given the fact that as that dismissed juror noted, "I've never read a positive article about that organization." Great video, Leeja. I love your dress in this episode!
Oh thank god, that’s really reassuring to read. It means that despite having their claws into some of the most visible people in Hollywood, it sucks at *actually* recruiting us plebs, and the only reason it still exists is because of the patronage of this minority of rich assholes
The negative articles are written by outsiders and people who have left. Scientologists aren't allowed to read them - they're prohibited from looking at that stuff and can be punished for doing so.

There's also a fantastic podcast series called The Last Podcast On The Left, where they do a longer multi-episode series on scientology and L Ron Hubbard. I highly recommend this series to anyone who has questions or curiosity about scientology and its origins

hi leeja! i love your videos so im super glad youre growing and speaking on more current topics! i wanted to point out the fact that, while maybe you did not need this info in this video necessarily, the trigger responses are not three, but four: fight and flight (the two commonly known ones), freeze (the one you mentioned here) and fawn, which is when victim respond by trying to please the abuser or bargain with them or pleading. this last trauma response is extremely frequent in victim of repeated and prolonged abuse but it can present in anyone else just the same. i wanted to add this info because for some reason people only mention fight or flight or at most they add freeze, but rarely mention fawn except when its medical professional or other people who speak about mental illnesses, trauma and/or abuse and it is extremely important for people to know that this is one of the trauma responses and it is not uncommon nor less valid then any other. something else that can happen during traumatic events is also something called dissociation, a state the mind goes into to try to escape from what’s happening in the physical world, during which the person can have a vague awareness of what’s happening or it can be completely unaware, depending on many factors such as a propension to dissociation or history of trauma. this is something that people can also completely forget happening (both the dissociation itself and/or the events) and a lot of people are often never able to remember anything of. i hope this comment isn’t taken badly, cause i just think it’s something too important to not mention, regardless of how much i appreciate your content
CASE UPDATE: He got 30 to life!!! WOO HOO!!!
Really appreciated bringing up the freeze part as someone who's been sexually abused (and tortured) as a kid-where it happened to me, and also seen it happen to several people during combative encounters. Unfortunately you can learn what it's like for people to go through trauma, but just like with combat, it's damn-near impossible to understand fully when having experienced things like rape, shootings, torture, brainwashing, all that fun stuff.
I’m really loving these videos recently. I’d be interested for you to talk about the case that happened with the woman who lied about her pregnancy and the attacked another pregnant woman and took her baby out of her and was later sentenced to death. I know it’s a very tough case and a hard subject ((I’m pregnant and have two little ones so the gravity of the case is not lost on me) however, I think it would be an excellent opportunity to talk about mental health as well as the death penalty because the defense team took an interesting stance in the case and did a kind of “this isn’t her fault because the system failed her and it’s the system who is to blame”. I think there is a lot of room to talk about exactly what that “system” entails and areas we need reform as well as the death penalty needing reform etc. plus the case itself is interesting and it’s not an isolated incident. This has happened before. Maybe even touch on the subject of why this has happened so many times before and since this case. What is it in our society that is making woman so desperate and feeling like they must produce a child that they are willing to kill and take someone else’s? Or even is this a society issue or a mental health issue or both? Etc

The quickness I clicked this video. I hope Xenu throws Danny Masterson back in the volcano. The Channel Growing Up in Scientology has been covering this really well
I'm so sorry about what happened to you. Thank you for making this video, it's such a needed conversation! The way the legal system deals with assaults like this is terrible, and biases are still very present. This case and the Kavanaugh inquiry highlight this strongly. Similar to your experience, I was SA'd, and it took me months to realise what happened. Luckily, the police officers and detectives who handled my case believed me, but the legal system absolutely failed me. It was a "he said, she said" thing, and they brought up that I'd waited a few months to report the attack, so it couldn't have been "that bad", I didn't "fight back" and that I was the one who'd taken him home in the first place. They said that it would "ruin his life" without any respect for how it ruined mine.
Women who speak up know that there are going to be negative consequences. No one traumatized wants to take any actions that would make their pain worse. This is why it is so important to believe people when they open up about this kind of stuff. Because there will always be people who ask them if maybe there wasn't something they did to contribute to their abuse. Nobody "asks" to be abused, but after the fact, protecting what's LEFT from harm from insensitive others is SURVIVAL.
So when I unpack this I come to the conclusion "women are selfish" -- if someone rapes you and you don't stop them from doing this to the next person, THAT'S NOT OK. Maybe its OK for a child, not an adult. Once someone gets away with a single rape, what happens next? That makes YOU an enabler.
@jceddy1 holy shit dude! You need to unpack what you just said. Basically, you just blamed the victim for either being scared or repressing the trauma. You are victim blaming and absolutely gross!

Oh haha, "silence is violence" doesn't work here?
My issue is society gives women a pass on this, and then every abuser notches multiple or dozens of victims. Trauma is not an excuse for enabling serial ra@pist, it's not even a gray area. Just like if I witness a child sexual assault and I do nothing about it, yeah dude, there's blood on my hands if I let it continue when I could have stopped it.
"Victim blaming" would be more like "because of the dress you wore you deserved this", taking responsibility for your duty to society is not at all the same thing. Stop with the cliches.
Nobody asks to be abused, also nobody asks to a have gun held to thier head and robbed or their car stolen. If everyone's answer is "it's to traumatic" to report, society quickly collapses, you can see this in most major cities/hoods these days with the "snitches get stitches" way of live. It doesn't have a good outcome.

Last time I was assaulted, I had to call my therapist to know if it was assault. She pointed out that every step of the way I repeatedly told him no and said that I wasn’t ready. I even moved his hands and repeated where I told him I didn’t want to be touched, something I’d made clear before we’d started making out. And I still wasn’t sure if I was assaulted or if I’d somehow been asking for it or wanted it somehow. Afterwards, he told me that the only reason I didn’t enjoy it was because I didn’t let myself. And I was going to be alone because I’m cynical.
I also had a friend who was raped several times by her husband and had no idea until I pointed it out.
Even when it’s clear on the outside, it’s not on the inside. I’m sure that if you’d asked him, he would tell you that everything was consensual I just took some convincing because I’m cynical. The Me too movement is about learning what consent is.
you should have that therapist reported, have your friend rescued and her husband arrested.
My therapist didn’t do anything wrong, she helped me to figure out what happened and that it wasn’t consensual.
As for my friend, she only told me this after taking the first steps in a divorce. They’ve been in litigation for 4-years already because they have a child together and she’s doing better now and will never give up fighting for her daughter.
Sexual Assault usually isn’t black and white. Charges are extremely hard to get and even harder to win. The offender will claim that it was consensual and the victim will have to testify to a lawyer that’s going to imply that they are promiscuous and wanted it. The ME TOO movement was about learning consent because it wasn’t always clear to both parties.
@@Cami-fq9dc your therapist told you "Afterwards, he told me that the only reason I didn’t enjoy it was because I didn’t let myself. And I was going to be alone because I’m cynical." That is such a obscene statement and not appropriate whatsoever. But still at the least, you should have them face the consequences for their horrible statement and then change therapists. Although good for your friend.
@@lostblueboy Oh! Sorry, I misunderstood. The guy that assaulted me said that, not the therapist.
'I’m sure that if you’d asked him, he would tell you that everything was consensual I just took some convincing because I’m cynical.' - you should ask him to send you what he said in a text message. If he really believed that was consent then he must be a serial rapist. Part of sexual assault/rape is gas-lighting & manipulation (during and after).
Rapists know what consent is, they're selective with who and when they rape. They're predators so they pick up insecurity and passivity and they pick up on trauma (child abuse victims are are much more likely to be raped). This is why MeToo has been almost completely ineffective in preventing rape (rape rates have gone up since it).
I don't really understand why non discourse agreements are legal/enforceable when it's about a crime being committed.
The best way to explain the "freeze" part in fight, flight, or freeze: when a deer stops in the middle of the road, it is not consensually getting hit by a car. It is standing completely still bc it thinks a predator has their eyes on it. If it stays completely still, the predator might just go away.... or they might hit the deer bc they are actually an oncoming car.

@@angeliccow You are incorrect. I was Falsely Accused, and it took 3 Full Years before my name was fully cleared. The woman who Falsely Accused me had dated me on and off for 4 years. Her False Accusation was that I had actually stalked her that entire time. The False Accusations INSTANTLY STOPPED when my attorney sent the evidence that everything she was saying was a lie to the President of the Most Prestigious Medical School in the United States, which is located on the East Coast. He sent it there because this woman had completed an internship there, and her sister is a professor and researcher there. The evidence were phone records of hundreds of calls she’d made to my phone over the course of 4 years, loving emails she’d sent me over the course of 4 years, beautiful hand-written letters she’d mailed to me, which included poetry she’d written to me, as well as the existence of a naked photo she’d texted me that I never requested. She texted me that photo when she was 26. After the President of that University received all that evidence, every single Accusation she’d ever made suddenly was dropped and she erased all traces of the accusations. So, yes, I know EXACTLY how it works.
@@wildmercuryfilms I’m assuming you are not a psychologist and obviously have a confirmation bias here. I am very sorry that happened to you and rest assured I am not someone who chants believe all women, and I have been this way since before the depp trial. I do fully accept that there are plenty of women who will make false allegations for any variety of reasons knowing that the propensity of our society is to believe them, it will ruin the person they accuse and even when vindicated that person will always carry the stigma of that accusation. There is however no one way that a “real victim” acts. Think of all the people (women and men) who stay in very abusive relationships and all the reasons they do so.
In this case you do also have to include the issue of cult mentality. You mention you know nothing of Scientology - so let me ask you how your experience would change if your trusted religious organization taught you that the false accusation was YOUR fault, that you did something (even in a past life) that meant you deserved to be falsely accused, have your name and reputation dragged through the mud and due to years or even a lifetime of conditioning YOU BELIEVED THEM. How would your reaction change if you knew that if you rocked the boat you would be excommunicated, your family would disconnect from you, you would be sent to the world with nothing - no education, qualifications, work history. Look into Scientology - even those who left don’t act “normal” they don’t react “normally”. Think of it in another way - fundamentalist Mormon polygamists - how would someone assaulted in the FDA react? What would be normal behaviour for them. Culture is so important to how a person will react to various stimuli, what they will accept and what they won’t.
I am not making any statement to the guilt or innocence of masterson. I’m not on the jury and I have not heard the evidence in any non bias way. All I am saying is the actions you describe as being 100% not how an assault victim would act is incorrect. There is a lot of context required to decide if it is or is not. In your case you have all that context because you lived it. In this case we do not have that context to be able to say what behaviour is and is not “Normal”.
I am glad you were able to unwind the allegations lodged against you and feel strongly that false allegations should be prosecuted (not “not guilty” which simply means there is reasonable doubt or that no one can be sure one way or another but actually false beyond a reasonable doubt where evidence proves innocence). We do also need to change the dialogue from believe all women/victims to respect all allegations and investigate to the fullest conclusion. Innocent until proven guilty needs to underpin any fair justice system and as there has been no verdict in this case I can offer opinion but masterson has to remain not guilty until found otherwise by a jury. Obviously given the deadlock there is more than what we have been reported at play but it is blind to unequivocally state how a true victim would or would not act.
Our society conditions everybody to believe everything that happens to them is their fault. It’s part of the myth of meritocracy.
12:13 - I just want to say: this isn't limited to the 1940's, or any past timeframe. It's still very much true. I mean, just look at Q or whatever. People just make shit up. @@wildmercuryfilms I know you had an awful experience but the odds of FIVE separate women falsely accusating someone is minute. Your argument about a woman seeing him again after the SA means nothing. Just look at any abusive relationship with an SA element. It is not uncommon for victims to go back in one way or another. Maybe instead of commenting the same things over and over you should read a bit more of other people's experiences & explanations.
You need to listen to victims/survivors. Plenty of them are trying to explain this to you, myself included. They have a better understanding of the behavior that clearly doesn't make sense to you. And it is incredibly complex and I understand why a lot of it doesn't make sense from the outside. But just because something seems (or just is) irrational and/or illogical does not make it untrue. You're letting your experience cloud your entire judgment and viewpoint.
@@wildmercuryfilms Shorter answer: YES, victims very often go back to their abuser whether they're in an official relationship with them or not. It's a coping mechanism. It's an attempt to right a wrong by trying to replace the assault with an experience they're in control of.
Doesn’t the fawn/freeze amendment to fight or flight actually disabuse people of their agency? So a consensual encounter can be perceived as rape even thought the “victim” did not voice her reluctance because she was afraid? Sexual Assault is real and should never be tolerated but are we not making it easier to re-write these encounters to suit an after the fact narrative?
@@wildmercuryfilms I agree. The drugging allegations came much later, too (because otherwise the statute of limitations applies). There was an anti- Scientology TV show in production, and the host of that show has a personal vendetta with Masterson, and when producers started knocking on doors, that's when the allegations started. They were all involved with the television show, and compared stories even though the police told them not to. It's complicated because of Scientology being notoriously ruthless and unethical in the court room. Another thing that nobody gets, is (knowing a whole pack of Scientologists personally), those people are constantly reporting each other to church leaders as a form of procedural harassment when they have petty squabbles. They can cause you a LOT of grief that way with no repercussions. Something to think about. R*pe is hard to prove unless you leave the scene in an ambulance, and the witness statements here are highly suspect. I don't think there's enough here, but that's no guarantee that he won't be convicted. It'll be interesting to see what the jury thinks.
That first bit about dienetics, insofar as it was almost coherent, was also almost right, in that trauma often causes people to act against their own interests. Partial credit for that one almost coherent point.

Hubbard had to spend the last years of his life on the ocean to avoid being arrested by the FBI. That’s why there’s so much boat shit is Scientology.
This is a great breakdown of the situation. As far as Scientology goes, I highly recommend the book Cultish by Amanda Montell! She talks about many other cults but Scientology is a pretty major component of it
At the last census in Australia there were 1455 Scientologists
I entered a relationship with someone who had assaulted me. I was in denial, I had terrible self-worth, I was horribly isolated, and they were frequently so caring, so doting, showering me with affection, making me feel better after making me feel like less than dirt. I just wanted to feel BETTER, and like any unhealthy coping mechanism, they could do that for a few hours. It was a cycle that I got caught in. It doesn’t excuse or erase what they did.
I also realized YEARS later that what I’d labeled in my head as “giving up” And “letting it happen” was a natural freeze reaction because I was SCARED OUT OF MY MIND. I’d failed to escape, I couldn’t overpower them or convince them to stop. So my body just went limp. I needed to have a therapist tell me that was normal and I’d done nothing wrong.
That should not hold up in court though.

As someone who has not only been held up at gun point but also sexualy assaulted I can confirm the "freeze" response. No matter how you think you will react to a situation and go wild west style and shoot them..... that is all in your head until you live through it. There is nothing you can do to accurately simulate these situations prior 😒 and thus you don't know how you really will handle things until it happens. First experience was being held up at gun point while at work when I was a high school student. I was beyond unprepared despite other situations of violence I had face in the past. The sexual assault happened in college and at first I tried to fight back until I noticed their state of mind (or lack their of) knowing first hand this person had a past of being extremely violent while *blacked out* intoxicated ment my life was at risk if I fought back. This person had been found guilty of attempted murder in the past so in the end I eventually froze to protect my life in hopes less physically harm. Many people ask if I went to the cops..... do I look stupid 🤣? Seriously going to the cops in my area, state okay major of the country will result in only more trauma, zero justice and your reputation will be dragged through the mud. In short all hurt and no gain! Going to the cops is far more traumatizing than staying silent....slowly self healing. I am alarmed that this many women were willing to be dragged through that shit to come forward 😱 and that suggests that there are many more victims could be out there 🤨.

Flight, Fight or Freeze are the 3 reactions to people have when being attacked or being Graped
Freeze isn’t a valid or viable strategy and it’s not equal to the Flight or Fight strategies
Freeze is almost always an involuntary response to fear
It’s often experienced with a sense of disbelief that something so horrible is happening. Some have even claimed to have out of body experiences during their tragic experience that caused them to freeze.
The host was only ever taught about Flight or Fight because those are the only two strategies that have a probability of survival
To teach people to freeze while being attacked would be irresponsible.
Also they are already considering the situation 'assault' or 'something horrible' in this situation. I can understand freezing after saying no or stop or fighting back, but if you're conscious and aware and in the middle of being physically intimate with someone it's weird to just stop communicating..
Finally a repoert/update from a mature well spoken adult. 👏
There's actually four trauma responses: fight, flight, freeze, or fawn - where you try to manage the threat by people-pleasing and catering to their needs.
The fourth is not widely accepted since it's a social construct (humans) and can be integrated into the freeze reaction aka not appears as a threat
uh, so how is possible to differentiate between fawning and consenting? Or can fawning only be differentiated after the fact?
Sadly there's a lot of poor souls that are not "CLEAR" as to what slavery looks like, so they were put on a ship " called the SEA ORG" to make it clear to them who's really in charge 😢 sad but also 😁 true.
my fave ex-scientologist that covers scientology news is Aaron Smith-Levin in Clearwater. he actually ran for city council but scientology ran a smear campaign against him bc he's an ex-member, and bc they have such a grip on the city of Clearwater. he makes a lot of videos that dispel the myths that scientology creates about itself, like just how many members they actually have. he's also on the board of The Aftermath Foundation that helps members get out of scientology. i highly recommend his channel, Growing Up in Scientology!
I didn't know that he had his own channel and he's still making videos and speaking out!!! Good for him, thank you for the recommendation!
I enjoy his channel as well. Where's A-aron at?

So he didn't kidnap any of them, they all went to his house voluntarly for what? They liked him, wanted to go there for him, had sex with him, didn't the next day call police, waited years later, then decided to want money first, then have him locked up? This seems so wrong, he could do so much time for this.
stop pretending it doesn't make sense. you know for a fact that an innocent man is now serving life based on nothing more than accusation
Every video I’ve come across concerning this case spend majority of the time talking about Scientology. Can someone please tell me what actual physical evidence was used to confirm a conviction?
there is none. you don't get it. it's clearly a concerted effort to undermine the law. it's ALL about money. it's all about disregarding rights. it's all about lawyers having new ways to make money by treating women like children who can retroactively re-neg consent. interesting huh?
Have you done an update since the verdict where he was found guilty? Great interesting video and love your style 😊
I thought this video was going to be about the case. You didn’t cover hardly anything other than Scientology. I want to know what evidence was presented other than he said/ she said. That’s an awful long time to come fwd. wondering how much they’ll be seeking in the civil suit 🤔
Right?! And it took nearly 5 minutes just for her to actually get to the point and it wasn't even about Danny's crimes.
Jane Doe 2 didn't realize Danny's action was rape until her husband told her. The reason is that she was a long time scientologist and scientology teaches that there is no such thing as rape. If a woman is treated that way (raped) it is because she brought it on herself.
My mom has been rewatching That 70s Show for background noise, (yes she knows about Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama) and a lot of their jokes are super disgusting and didn't age well. Especially Fez's character. 🤢 Thank you for covering this. I'll show it to my mom later!
What is the issue with Wilmer?
